Yep its time to purchase a new computer and it has been a long while since i bought a new pc. Heres my situation i am running an Acer Aspire 5742Z Laptop with the following specs.

P6100 2 cores @2.0GHZ

3 GB DDR 3 Ram

Intel HD Graphics

320GB Hard Drive

I am planning or puchasing this gaming bundle so i can play most games mainly Dead Rising 1,2 and Off The Record

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/recon-h110m-intel-core-i5-6500-3.2ghz-3.6ghz-turbo-8gb-ddr4-quad-core-value-skylake-gaming-bundl-bu-234-ok.html

The specs are as follows

Recon H110M" Motherboard

Intel Core i5-6500 3.2GHz (3.6GHz Turbo) 4 Cores 8GB DDR4 Ram

The motherboard has built in sound and graphics card so thats fine for now really. Can i use the hard drive of my laptop with the mainboard or will i actually have to get a new hard drive on top of that? Also what towercase would everyone recomend?

This is a big upgrade from what i have now and for the price as well.

Cheers for any help.

if you are on a budget then dont bother with the case, any 50 bucks case will do the job

you can use the ssd from the lapton on your desktop, but i doubt you can do it without doing a clean install.

you will also need to buy the power supply aswell

also you forgot the most important part... the GPU

I wouldn't reuse your laptop hard drive, they're often 5400RPM pieces of slow crap.

Core i5-6500 comes with on-board HD 530 GPU. It's not terrible. A lot of games will run on that.

You will most definitely need a PSU. The HDD from laptop will work, but it's better to get a new one for reasons sivispacem mentions. Some laptops come with nice SSD drives, but yours doesn't.

Personally, I really like Corsair cases, but they tend to be on the pricier side. As for something a bit more affordable, I really liked

of NZXT S340. It's about $70 on amazon, and you might be able to find it cheaper. At the same time, it's the sort of case that will definitely fit your needs and allow room to expand/improve your system in the future. This case is designed for ATX, but it has stands for micro-ATX form factor of the card you're looking at.

Alternatively, if you're never planning to put in a large graphics card, you could take a look at compact mid towers designed specifically for micro-ATX. I don't have any specific recommendations, though.

I like NZXT cases; some of the cheaper ones still offer decent functionality at a great price. I have the NZXT Source 220 Window edition and it's pretty nice; while it doesn't have removable dust filters that slide out or any stuff like that it does have tool less drive bays and plenty of space behind the motherboard tray for cable management and for £45 quid I really can't complain about it.

If you're on a really really tight budget just find the cheapest case that'll hold all your gear, if you're not bothering with a separate graphics card then you won't really have much excess heat to deal with really.
