glenster Posted August 25, 2016 Share Posted August 25, 2016 (edited) I'm working on a starter save for the latest Steam version of GTA "III" and got to about 8% complete when I realized I was playing on compatibility mode for98/ME (I guess from a recent previous installation). When I turn off compat-ibility mode I'm at 0% and all the pickups disappear from Claude's Portland saveplace?! Is there a fix to have my 8% work done without compatibility mode? Save files for the PC version of the game do not vary between versions, nor should enabling compatibility mode have any effect on the content of the save data. If you're having trouble with compatibility, I recommend installing SilentPatch. It fixes a lot of little quirks with GTA III. glenster Posted August 25, 2016 Author Share Posted August 25, 2016 I only have one save file in the folder but, yes, it certainly is happening. I never heard of it before. I have Windows 10 64 bit and the latest Steam version of "III." I guess I'll supply that one and just tell people to run the .exe on compatibility mode for Windows 98 / Windows ME. The contents of the save file will be the same whether you're using compatibility mode or not.
