Why, just why was this added to GTA?

 

It's only kind of cool within certain motorbike and bicycle races; otherwise, it's a clumsy, headache inducing, pain in the arse--especially when someone decides to lock a combat job or race (with cars) to this perspective.

 

I hate it and find it completely useless.

If you have to run for a while, it is nice as you only have to hold X instead if tap it to run the same speed.

I hate it and find it completely useless.

it's useless because there's no incentive to use it but i love FPV, it totally changes the game IMO and apart from the clumsy movement (atleast on PC) I find they did a great job with the vehicle dashboards / cockpit. I don't like when hosts lock the view to FPV either but I have to say it's funny as hell to work as a team in FPV, we're supposed to be a team of professional mobsters yet getting in a car together becomes a comedy of errors in FPV.

 

When playing missions or heists I often switch to FPV just to make it challenging and I always find it so much more beautiful in FPV. I'm really happy they added it but it could be much better, I bet if there was a payout bonus for locking it to FPV we'd all be using it exclusively even though it can be a pain the @ss

The most useless thing, since day one of this game, has been that stupid Issi atop the "Prepare to Take Off" Weeny billboard.

Unless you consider something that always screws with your escape to be useful.

I hate it and find it completely useless.

 

I suspect R* wanted GTA Online to compete with First Person games--of which there's a huge market for. But interestingly, even dedicated FP games like BF3 gave you the option of TP for driving vehicles--DICE recognized that it has some decided advantages.

 

R* did a fairly good job considering FP was literally an "add-on", but it still needs a lot of work (esp. character movement in FP). I'm thankful though that they provided as many mixes and preferences for how it works in-game.

 

But like you noted, player preferences clash when it comes to things like DMs, etc. There are plenty of advantages and disadvantages in how FP and TP work--some of them can be corrected/equalized, some cannot because of their nature (e.g. TP players seeing around corners).

 

But in the end (IMO), R* bit off more than they can chew with GTA Online, in that they simply cannot stay on top of:

 

* Bug fixes (old and new)

* Cheating and glitching (YouTube multiplies even one player's new "find")

* Stable addition of new content

 

Sounds ironic, but game quality is rapidly dying at the expense of mass income.

 

If R* and Take-Two were smart, they would work hard at improving and balancing the game itself to ensure its long-term stability and blossoming it into an even more amazing game than it has been...rather than starving and milking it for what it's worth for the short-term (demand that your cow produce milk without working hard to feed it and keep it healthy, and guess what happens?)

 

Because of how R* and Take-Two have treated GTA Online, at this point I honestly have no desire to buy anything else from them. None whatsoever, including RDR2 (I bought a PS3 just to play GTA Online--NOT buying a PS4 for RDR2 or buying a PC version of it).

The room above that convenience near blain county. On last gen you could climb op that little white airco thing, but on current gen it's almost impossible to enter that room which makes it kinda useless.

 

Also, not really useless but I've yet to encounter someone who is calling for a taxi ride.

The only thing that came up on my mind is is passive mode on last generation consoles. The passive mode on current generation consoles is much better, it's so annoying when you just want to explore Los Santos in Grand Theft Auto Online and getting runned over all the time.
