I think they could set a game before Origins if it's a Templar origin story. Being that Origins was the origin of the Assasins or the Hidden ones the Templars or as they were called in the game Order of the Ancients were already formed. They could do a game set during the Persian wars with the Spartans.

Sparta was part of the poll Ubisoft recently send out to some Ubi club members. I'd have voted if I received an email too.

 

They questioned where a future AC game should take place. I must have posted a screenshot of the poll here sometime ago. Note that they weren't asking for the next game or the game after, just a future title.

I'm still rooting for feudal Japan or the Wild West. Both would excite me equally, I think. I might get Origins too now that I can check if it will work well on my setup. This is why you should always release a demo, Ubisoft.

Yeah atleast they are trying. Since 2012 rockstar only released gta 5. Ubisoft released fc3, fc4, primal, ghost recon wildlands, the division, watch dogs, ac black flag, splinter cell blacklist, coj gunslinger.

CoJ Gunslinger - gotta love this game. Even if it is the worst Call of Juarez game - it had a badass score amd soundtrack. Most of it was recycled from Cartel, but original music was really cool - like guitar solos and stuff.

 

I have never been a big fan of Far Cry series though. I somehow managed to complete Far Cry 1 ( a very extreme game I might add) Then I tried fc2 (loved theme song but gameplay was too muich )

And uh - Ubisoft games have always been perfectly optimized for PC whereas Rockstar Games PC games always have problems or they don't release games on PC at all, like red dead revolver and redemption

Don't forget about Watch dogs lots of people talk sh*t about it but I enjoy them it's not trying to be GTA which aside from the WD1 downgrade I think is where a lot of the hate comes from. Edited February 7, 2018 by Zello

Wild West would be pretty fun but I still don't know how they'd factors guns in without fundamentally changing the identity of the series. It feels better suited for a movie.

I don't think the nature of combat matters as much as just being an Assassin during an interesting historic period and place.

Eh, gameplay is important. That and the wild west is interesting because of, well...how wild it was. Outcasts and loners carved their place into American consciousness and that doesn't really play well with big conspiracies and Templars and Assassins.

You could easily do a Templar/Assassin conspiracy. Set the game during the gold rush, and suddenly they're racing to find an ancient vault or a Piece of Eden or some other artifact left behind by the First Civilization somewhere in the Old West. They could do the Black Flag formula where the main character isn't an Assassin, he just stumbles upon them by accident. And perhaps the Assassins are mostly Native Americans because Connor was the one who established an Assassin order in the colonies back in the day. What if Wild Bill was an Assassin and Jack McCall was hired by Templars to kill him? There's plenty of things you could do with the Old West. You just need some imagination.

Actually now that you mention it a spin off sort of game where we play an outsider to the order who ends up sort of falling in the middle sounds like it could be good fun. Detached enough from the main series to where they can go pretty crazy but still an AC game.

They didnt. You had a full game well worth the price you paid for. Yet they keep updating the game, 9$ for the first DLC is more then worth it.

Secrets of the first pyramid, that other deluxe mission and maybe a few outfits/weapons were cut. Feel free to complain about that.

 

Calling unplanned DLC that was never suppossed to happen as cut content sounds ridiculous tbh.

 

If they did a big Rome DLC then by that logic we can call Brotherhood and Revelations cut concent as well.

Discovery mode is incredible. This feature must make it into the next game, even if months after release. I completed 7 out of 75 tours so far, they're relatively short but offer valuable information and are very fun to do. It's a learning platform basically. It makes me wish that I was still in school and had to do an essay about Egypt.

 

Plus, there are many playable characters and there are interactive white spots on the ground that trigger certain animations. It's pretty cool and can make opportunities for some good screenshots.

 

It's a 10/10 mode, excellent idea and effort on Ubisoft's side. I forgive the lack of an archive database now.

 

Oh and there's NG+ too but I'll leave it for now until I'm in the mood for another playthrough. Wanna make it feel fresh again.

Holy f*ck. Hold down the aim bow button in Discovery Mode. You can walk around and climb in fps.

 

Would be better if we could just trigger it instead of holding it down but I'm still amazed. I'm sure they'll add it eventually when people complain enough.

Origins is the GTA V of the Assassin's Creed series. This makes Syndicate feel like a masterpiece.
