Below is my feedback for the Quarantine Zone Mission-pack.

Well, I managed to grab some little free time to play all the missions today, and I can say that this is one of the best mission-packs I've ever played so far. I especially liked the developement of the story, with Clyle revealing secrets one by one, as his faith in the group upgrades. I really liked the ending as well, the perfect use of objects, and the death of Clyde (which was the best plot twist) and Ajax's death as well (I didn't like that character from the beggining). Now he's my question, what exactly happened in San Fierro? Will we see a prequel/sequel to this masterpiece?

Anyways, this was perfectly designed in all ways, especially the solid story.

Rating: 9/10.

@Gammoudicj - Thanks on the detailed feedback, bro :) I appreciate the kind words and almost the perfect rating, it really means a lot to me that more people are having positive thoughts about this mission pack. I can really say it paid off. :)

As for the ending, I will explain here, but I advise people who haven't played the mission pack yet not to read it since you will spoil the whole story for yourselves.

When Sean gets very close to the beginning/outskirts of San Fierro in hopes he'll find the ''right people'' to show the experiment documents he found in Los Santos military experiment complex to (non-corrupt goverment officials or whoever), he sees that San Fierro is closed just like Los Santos. That means, while Sean, Clyde and his Crew were trying to find a way out of Los Santos, military has spread the experiments disaster to San Fierro (and probably Las Venturas) aswell which answers the question why most of the military backed out of Los Santos. They didn't exactly back out, they just spread further without anyone in Los Santos knowing as they cut the communication system. So basically, in the last scene, it is revealed that the whole San Andreas area has been turned into the ''Quarantine Zone'' and not just Los Santos as Sean and his crew thought.

So yes, I left a door for the sequel opened, but I'm not really sure it is going to happen. At least I don't see it happening now. That could change over time, but I don't know.

@Notna - Cool, bro. I'll sure be waiting for the feedback :) As for the GTA Underground stuff, that's quite a long way down the road. But, hopefully it will be sooner than later. We'll see. :)

So I said I'd do a review of this one when you completed. I played all missions today and here's a complete review.

STORY

-Plot: 10/10

Notes .:

- The story develops in a linear style, as we are used to seeing in your MPs. That's always exciting, since it's your missions, we can not expect what can happen. Compared to other MPs out there that are sometimes too predictable, you managed to overcome it.

- The story gets a stronger emotional charge from the penultimate mission, and you can pass this sad and emotional feeling in the missions.

- The plot twist at the end really surprised me, and it leaves place for a possible sequel in the universe, with or without the main character of this MP.

- Characters: 10/10

Notes .:

- The characters have their own characteristics, giving a peculiar form of each handle situations, from the moment they are introduced to where their shares are completed. This increases realism in the MP.

- Lines/dialogues: 10/10

Notes .:

- Dialogues very well prepared, showing moments of tension, comedy and sadness in an understandable way.

GAMEPLAY

- Variety (actors, cars, objects): 8/10

Notes.:

- Actors were placed with well-planned routes, and just a bug in a mission that the zombie ran away from the confrontation area, but it is a bug in the game and not in the MP.

- One thing left to the "could be better" list in the MP were the objects. As much as the streets were empty (and even has an explanation in history to do so) and the weather is well placed, I could not have the real feeling of being anywhere near a place as a quarantine zone. Of course dyom is quite limited and gives us few resources to design realistic missions, and to get a feel like that is almost impossible, but it was something that could be improved.

- Another thing is about the ammo. In some moments of the history, it's given to us a gun with infinite ammo. I would say that in a survival MP in a situation like that, having scarce resources, is not well "survival" you having 100000 bullets for a gun. Another thing that could be better.

- Transformation of the zombies was placed in an excellent way.

- A great use of animations in different characters.

- Cutscenes: 10/10

Notes.:

- Timing of the dialogues in the cutscenes was excellent. I didn't miss a moment, even not understanding too much English.

- Scenes with slow motion, explosions, very well made.

- Difficulty: 9/10

Notes.:

- The first 10 missions managed to get through without any difficulty. From the eleventh, things got heavy. But you managed to assimilate difficulty and reality and made me want to continue even failing sometimes.

- In "The reveal, part 1", I had a trouble in the container. I failed twice to get through the boxes. But I don't think you have put it on purpose. (right?)

Overall note: 9,5/10

Final observations:

- Seeing the end, I remembered a bit of Lee's death in The Walking Dead S1 game. :p

- Even being a short MP, "The Quarantine zone" creates a context with a well-developed story over it. Keeping your designing style, you're able to make mistery in every single mission you release, and make the players be more and more excited to play the next mission. Even for those who never played this kind of game or story, the MP it is quite simple and really accessible for any types of players.

Hope you like it. This is my first one.

I have finished all of the missions in this mission pack. Damn, Jimmy! You have impressed and inspired me at the same time! As for me, this is the best mission pack so far even though the cutscenes were decent enough though the story overcomes it. After playing this mission pack, I have decided to play more mission pack designed by you.

Anyway, for the story, my rating is 11/10.

The story gave me the chills while playing it. Every moment were so thrilling. I was trying to predict what's gonna happen next but you have overcome it and I can say, I never expected more than that! It was not decent nor good. It was too... damn... excellent! I don't like it. I love it.

For the gameplay, this includes the cutscene, the environment, the character placement, and the object and vehicle placement.

For the cutscene, my rating is 08/10.

The cutscene was decent enough to satisfy me but don't worry, it's all good. I don't really focus on it.

For the environment, my rating is 10/10.

The environment was great. At first, I think it would be better if there are different weathers used. But no, different weather affects the storyline so... I understand and it's all good.

For the character placement, my rating is 09/10.

The character placement was nearly great but since I have found one mistake, which is you forgot to teleport the player to another position, its tendency is that the player would be seen in the cutscene but it's fine, at least the overall aspect overcomes it.

Lastly, for the object and vehicle placement, my rating is 11/10.

The object placement was excellent! From the scattered vehicles in the streets to bases... I can't say more. It was excellent.

And now, for the overall rating... my rating is 11/10.

Well, you can see why.

SPOILER ALERT!

Anyway, as for the ending, it was really unexpected. I was expecting Sean would be honoured but no. It deserves a sequel, I can say. So if you please, I would appreciate it if it's gonna happen. But the choice is yours.

It's been an honour playing this mission pack, Jimmy. Thanks to you. Have a good day... :) and some cookies. :cookie::cookie::cookie::cookie::cookie::cookie::cookie:

@THBP - Damn, thank you for a huge, detailed review, man. I really appreciate it. It has some awesome and some very valid points which I will take into consideration, of course. I'm very honored to have gotten almost a perfect rating from you, really means a lot. Now, to your review explanation..

As for the actor bug - Yeah, I tried placing it to 3 or 4 different routes and he still managed to skid away for some reason. I couldn't figure it out, so I also assumed it had something to do with the game.

As for the objects - Yes, I agree. I am not a really good object user and this is the MP in which I have used the most objects so far in my career. Part of it is the object limit, so I tried making something along the way (outside the military mobile bases), but that was about it until the bunker and the military complex.

As for the gun with infinite ammo - I actually think it was realistic as I put the ammo limit when Sean and the crew were using Clyde's bullets which he said he had in limited numbers. But then, towards the end of the mission pack and at the very beginning, the crew were using regular bullets and as Ace is the owner of the gun shop, it was only natural to me that the crew brought huge amount of bullets with them. So there's that. But if you think I could've put like 500 bullets and not infinite, yeah, I understand that. Since the players couldn't use all 500 bullets in a mission, it made no difference to me as those 500 would also seem like inifinite.

As for the container - I have no idea why you had the problem with them. When I designed the mission, I put the boxes just in the right places for players to be able to sprint in between them. So that kinda sucks to hear, but a good thing is that the mission is still passable.

Anyway, thanks once again, man. Good luck with your survival MP and maybe somewhere in the future, I will make a sequel to this.

@Fabeeeeeee - Thanks a lot, man. I can't thank you enough for the perfect rating. I'm really glad you liked the mission pack that much. I tried to make it a ''mistake free'' mission pack, but I guess that one mistake can be forgiven :D Anyway, like I told THBP, maybe somewhere in the future I will make a sequel to this, but right now, unfortunately, I have other ideas, so we'll see. Cheers :D

And Ace's death I was surprised that the vulture jumped from the ____.

Coolest MP I ever played :)

Played all of them. Here's my review:

Environment + Dialogs - Excellent work. I understand everything.

Placements - objects, actors, cars, everything has a good placements. I love it :D

Spelling and Grammars - No spelling errors found while playing it. Amazing.

Bugs found - At on the mission "the reveal part 3"

The reason why I got bugs is;
After when Sean kill Ace because he was bitten by the vulture who ambush them. What will happen to the next.

It crashes one time. I though maybe I played too long. But when tried two times. It keeps crashing. That's why I got bugs

Feedback is on your MP :D

Thanks on the feedback, Jhan Dave. I wasn't expecting one since you already posted your review at the DYOM site :) And I'm glad you like the mission pack. I don't know what could've happened that it kept crashing for you. I tested the mission several times and it was all good. We'll see if anyone else experiences the same bug.

Cheers :)

Yeah! I tried it several times loading the final mission, and it keeps crashing. Can you tell me what will happen next after Sean killed Ace.

Best mission pack I've ever played so far. I impressed of your work, Jimmy! Within a short period of time, you can served an extraordinary missions to all players who are playing your mission. At the same time, I felt inspired and motivated to make a good mission in the future beside I'm also working on for my mission pack, but my main problem is lazy to continue it. Once I played your mission, my point of view have changed. I can't say much about your missions, everything is perfect from my personal opinion. Looking forward for another project of yours, Jimmy!

10/10.

Spoiler alert!

Oh yeah one more thing, as for the ending of the story, I'm still wondering what will happened to Sean in San Fierro after taking a long path from Los Santos? He is the only one who survived. The ending is kinda hanging actually, but yeah.. would be good if you make the sequel part of it, hehe.

Thanks a lot on your feedback and the highest rating, Varro. I'm glad this mission pack inspired you so much :) Good luck with your mission pack.

As for the sequel, like I said before, there is too much going on in my life right now to be thinking about it, plus I have some other ideas already. If it happens, it will happen a long time from now.

I've played all the missions. It's good to see a change in theme and i can easily say you did a great job even though this is your first time trying something like this. Well, there is one thing i want to point out, as always i'll put story aside since story is always the highest spot in your MPs, but the atmosphere. I know you said that you don't add many objects and such in your MPs since you usually go to the other direction to make a MP awesome than filling it up with objects and stuff like that. But, in this case i believe it could have been a lot better if you had used more objects and added ''side stuff'' to fulfill the atmosphere, instead of going ''straight with the story'' just like in all your MPs. I respect your style, just pointing out it could've been an improvement if you were to change that in this case. Anyway, it was relieving to see that you've even used objects at all since you don't use it that much anyway hehe.

The other thing that could have been better is difficulty. It's not like after playing Rendy's missions, every other MP seems too easy for me but really. Except the last few missions, others were kinda easy when it comes to shooting and stuff like that. The only thing that could confuse the player to lose the mission is timelimit (because it's always set on 10 seconds and if you don't manage to get there in time, you fail) which hasn't changed the difficulty for me though. You should've made fighting against voltures a little bit more hard. Fight against soldiers was okay, especially in the last few missions, it was more of a challenge what was a good thing. For me, this is like easy-med mp.

Although the story is 10/10, and everything related it (character development, progression and such) is ok, it kinda feels a bit too rushed after you move to the second hideout. I think it's just me thought. Like everything went faster after the first few missions. Never mind, i'm not completely sure myself about this one.

Well, last but not least, i don't have really much to say about this MP in general (except the stuff i've mentioned above) though i can say that i've really enjoyed this MP, sadly i predicted the ending (even the stuff with SF) and the way you made the ending is like ''with a ending like this, i can either continue this MP (make a sequel) or let it be like this'', what means it can be interrupted on both ways, great thing! Or maybe even a prequel? Showing Clyde's son point of view before anything happened and how he died? We never know.

Generally it's an old story when it comes to you, gameplay =/= story hehe. Keep it up!

8.7/10

Jimmy_Leppard

Hey man, thanks on a detailed, argumented feedback and a very high rating. I'm glad you did this. It caught me by surprise to be honest since I know you said you'd play and give feedback on Swiping Kings: The Race Continues and The Invisible System before this one, but I'm glad you posted this feedback first :)

To the overview of your comment..

I agree with pretty much every aspect of your feedback because, for the most part, I had the same thoughts after completing it. When it comes to the objects, there is a very short limit and I kinda couldn't really measure the number of objects I needed for each mission by the script I wrote. But hey, like you said, it was my first time I used such an extensive number of objects for the ''atmosphere'', I'm satisfied with the way it looked, but nevertheless, it definitely could've been ''snowballed'' a little bit more.

As for the difficulty, I can't really argue with that one as the difficulty itself is a subjective matter and there will always be people who have different opinions about it. As for the other survival PC games I looked into, difficulty also wasn't high and so I kinda leaned towards the similar principle as there were 3 more allies (later on 4 and even 5) which makes the killings a lot easier. Plus, since there's an element of vultures wounding someone and getting them turn into a vulture, I didn't want to make their health too high as there would've been a higher probability of player's allies getting injured by the vultures which would kinda kill the primary vultures' characteristic.

As for the rushed part of the first chapter, I agree. Although I specifically wrote the script in a way where the bunker would end up being at the end of chapter 1, reason why it looked rushed was the fact I should've used the original script part for that one, that's why I simply didn't take into consideration it might get the effect the story was rushed if I used an alter part. In the original script of that part of the story, I had Clyde and the crew actually being locked into that bunker for a couple of days. However, I decided to alter (and therefore rush) that part of the story as there were no ''mission predispositions'' in the original concept. I just didn't see the possibility of doing anything inside the bunker for a couple of days which would've had to transfer to a couple of missions. It didn't fit. So, for the sake of the story, I chose to keep it on track, not slowing down, but rather elevating it until the end. I could've prolonged it probably, I can't argue with that.

Good work with predicting the ending. I actually came up with the script ending first :D Anyway, I'm really glad you liked the overall mission pack as I was not sure how it would turn out for the players. It's a huge relief seeing another positive feedback here. Hopefully, your Swiping kings and The Invisible System feedbacks will come soon aswell as I'm interested in hearing your thoughts about them aswell :D

Again, thanks for taking the time to play this mission pack, man. Cheers :D

What can I say bro, seriously! I don't have words for this splended mission pack. Once I thought, horror mp, without sounds is not so good. But as I start playing missions, I really feels the epic atmosphere for myself, the scenes and suspense you create is very realistic. The Clyde hideout and complex Hq is also very awesome.

No one can say, it's your first ever horror story experience :colgate:

My rating: 10/10 :^:

Thank you for this amazing series :)
