Oh yea! Thats what we need, a GTA 5 real Map Editor! Does anyone know how the grass particle of GTA 5 is mapped? I can't find any flag expect the grass particle collision flag on GTA V collision models.

I want to map grass to my GTA IV to GTA V converted map which also can spawn GTA 5 trees. So do i need to map grass on the GTA IV Map version and convert it to GTA 5 to get it to work?

Anyways, i can't get the current GTA IV Map Java Editor to work

Grass placement isn't related to collision, they are put in a separate YMAPs.

Yes,exactly EXACTLY as the Map Editor but without it's limitations and the need for it to load the map,a tool that saves directly to the game's map or as DLC whatever as long as it loads the items the same way as if it was vanilla map,but I've already asked about this just wondering if someone has such a thing in mind or has began creating such a tool.

Just ask R* for it, maybe if entire Forum bombards them with the questions they'll be compliant and send the tools.

Here is a xml version of levels.ymt. Just replace the game file by this file. The element names are unknown. I used names like HASH_COLLISION_xxx such that the hash maches and the game accepts the file.

Creative solution as always! What are the license terms for gta-toolkit, anyhow - are derivative works allowed as long as attribution is provided ("MIT License" - it seems)? I'm intending on releasing a RPF re-crypter w/ in-memory scanning for the decomposed/expanded key buffers used by the game so people can finally use this research of yours to sign RPFs for redistribution w/o OpenIV ASI crap. Err, what? Let people distribute their mods inside RPF archives which can be loaded without third-party plugins, what's the point? A better solution would be releasing an ASI which makes the game load extracted files like IV does.

I would be in full support of this. Would your tool be open source? That's my main problem with OIV, it stifles innovation and progression.

Yes, such derivative work is of course allowed. I chose the license such that everybody can basically do whatever he wants with the code.

I'm not planning to develop other tools. But if somebody else is interested in developing other tools using the gta-toolkit source code I can provide some support.

It would require an appropriate code to handle a different value encoding.

It's not hard to do. I'm willing to share an author the best C++ way to handle the different encoding that I have developed.

I uploaded a new version of the tool.

The changes are:

- Added names for fields that were unknown in ymf files

- You can now convert RBF xxx.ymt files to xxx.ymt.rbf.xml, but you cannot convert it back to RBF yet.

 

gtxd.ymt is an example of an RBF file. You can just rename the xml file to ymt and replace the RBF of your game by the xml file the same way it works for carcols.ymt. I only tested this for gtxd, it will probably not work for all RBF files.

 

Keep up the good work. By any chance, would you know when PSO will be included?

 

I dont know yet when I will have time to implement full pso support. In which pso files are you interested?No rush or anything, but do you have any word on the peds.ymt and pedpersonality.ymt PSO files? I want to get in there because I have mods that I wanna make to them that the community will be happy to have, and I know exactly what I need to change to get them working. Decompileing them to xml should be enough as I believe that I can load them anyways by just changing the file extension. Edited by nkjellman

I'm curious about popgroups.ymt, is it the same as on x360 + dlc vehicles?

I think so. Although, I wonder what is restricting the number oof 747 jets that are allowed to spawn. There are spawns around the airport as well as one taking off that worked on last grn but not current gen/pc. I believe that it is because of the 747's that spawn up in the sky. When I add 747 spawns with the Menyoo Spooner, the more I spawn, the less spawn up in the sky. If I can increase the spawn density of that particular vehicle, I believe that the airport spawns will work again.
