I agree and I was going to make a new character for this contest but didn't want to lose my July 4th items.

 

Next summer when July 4th rolls around I will have 5 new girls ready and I may start registering new accounts today.

Basically no white women Barbie types.

 

What if I want to party with Barbie? We're just chillin' and I'm like "Come on, Barbie. Let's go have a party." She'd be all like "Ahh, Ah, Ah, Yeah!" Then I'd have to be like. Naw, you're white and it's not alright. Then we'd have to talk about her feelings and how she is being excluded.

 

Doesn't seem like a fun evening.

If rank is not a factor then I'm sending all 3 of these next year with my new accounts....get the point i'm trying to make here? If you can't confirm your character then what's stopping someone from spamming the contest? People were already complaining about new members. I don't have a complaint and I think the judges are doing a fantastic job. Just addressing some issues to make it fair for everyone involved.

I prefer it when a contestant in these games is someone that the player has been using long term and has an attachment to, it's the difference between entering your actual character and a competition of who can use the character creation the best. It's a subtle distinction but it's there.

 

I thought some of the entrants seemed a lot more like real people, which I liked. I guess it was partly down to the player having got to know their character, if you like, over a period of time.

 

I'm not having a go at anyone or saying it should have been done differently, just musing on it.

Is it your character or not? Have you actually been using your character versus 'no...it was just created for this.'

 

Just want to keep this contest organic to the members of this site. We don't want some stranger running off with it.

It's a beauty contest, not an "establish character" contest. Brand new accounts/characters should be and are treated the exact same as day one creations or accounts as old as many of the posters here.

I agree, I don't have a problem with it. Just for my personal taste I liked the characters more who felt lived in.

If someone did create a new character for this contest and with a proper vetting process such as rank, at least 50 rank to enter for example, then it would take too much time and effort to enter 3 contestants.

 

Right now there is no vetting process, it's not going to stop someone from doing what I mentioned.

...except that's not true - there IS a vetting process, as well as it being perfectly simple to report any suspected foul play. Report it to the judges/XS, and they, along with the site staff will look into it (right down to IP addresses, if need be).

 

I say this, because there have been individuals over the years who've tried to either cheat or just troll the competition with fake/duplicate accounts - and unsurprisingly, they get dealt with. Can't stop some folk trying to take the system for a ride, but with this year, and previously, none of those types ever make the later rounds.

 

 

But again, there's something a bit disingenous to bring that up now, after the results have been announced, rather than before then - because it's implying that the Top 20 have somehow won because they've cheated the system. That ain't cool.

Sad world indeed when you assume I'm intelligent, I'm far from smart. You do have to sign to the forum to post which is what you did. Should I welcome you to the forum or say, "glad you're back?". I'm merely assuming you're the guy that got banned because he couldn't accept the fact he didn't get his virtual character in a top 20 on a gaming forum. If that ain't you then you'll clearly not be upset that I'm mentioning all of this, correct?

 

Rules do not state a character has to be a certain level. Level 400+ here (I actually don't even look at the level anymore) but I don't see it as a factor to take in. Contest comes down to beauty, photographs, bio and video (bonus). I know the argument is, "people are just making new characters to enter a competition". Sure, established characters that are actually being used by players (euh...not like that) does give it a nice feel to it overall. Nothing wrong with driving a car with a few miles on it and two guys on the back seat. All I'm saying is that we have bigger things to nit-pick.

 

Now, real talk, I know Miss LS is just beginning but I'm honestly curious as to how set up a Mister Los Santos. No, seriously, hear me out. I'd be hosting it seeing I do love boys arranging things, which would exclude The Cougar from the Mister LS comp. Naturally, as she's 100% 85% 60% female. What I'm curious is how to find proper judges, how to arrange and legitimize awarding a medal to the grand winner and other little things. How does Miss LS go about discussing things? Group PM? Who should I contact staff-wise for all of this? Now I'm not saying I'm gonna do it...just in case I grow some testes and go forth with it.

Other than rank to confirm its your character then I don't have a problem with the rules or anything else. It's been very entertaining and I am looking forward to the next round.

 

To those complaining about why their character didn't make the top 20? Be happy this contests exists and allows us an escape from real world problems such as work, school, kids and life...etc..etc....

 

Be happy for your fellow members who made it instead of being mad about the judges -or- why your character isn't in the top 20.

 

BTW...I wasn't bitch and moaning or complaining about not making the top 20. Just want to make that clear. I was just pointing out the some issues people had about 'last minute entries' because it discouraged a lot of members on here.

 

Nor was I implying anyone from the top 20 were spammers or were trying to cheat the members here. There is no implying on my part. Lets clear that up.

There are a lot of great-looking characters in this thread (over 100, am I correct?) so I have no doubt it was very difficult for the judges to narrow it down to just 20. I put a lot of time and thought into designing my character so I'm proud that she made it this far.
