Because public polls can be in no way altered/manipulated/influenced by the amount of people specific members might know or be friendly with on the forums. You're right, there are no holes in that theory what so ever.

There is a point system. It's all explained in the first post. I don't see why he or anyone else should be deserving of an explanation. You entered, you didn't make it. Try again next year, yeah?

 

As for the photoshop complaints... I mean, really? The Rockstar Editor is capable of most things people would use photoshop for (sharpen, soften, add/remove color, brighten, darken, apply filters). All I hear when people complain about photoshop, or creative videos is "I lack creativity, and I don't want to put in the effort". Folks, when you have an entry that says that about you, you don't win. Simple enough?

I think Bumpy's gripe is this....I think Bumpy is natty.

 

You seem to miss the point. The photoshopped pic has the advantage in points therefore photoshop shouldnt have been allowed since only some would get those points. Also, you are wrong. My gripe is about the 25% for photo editing AND videos which give an unfair advantage over ppl who arent good with or have the time to do that stuff.

 

Modding the game, and using photoshop are two completely different things.

None of the people who made it through are using mods. It clearly states in the rules that it is not allowed.

Also, several people made it through without using editing software or making a video.

Sorry but that doesnt justify the fact there are far more ppl on the list who only squeezed on there bcuz of the extra % from videos and photo editing. I'm 100% positive thats why my girl didnt make it which shows the failure in the point system. My girl should only lose to those prettier or who have taken better pics not someone who edged her out points wise bcuz they made a video and photoshopped their pics. That stuff should only come into play when its a tie or for the final stage.

 

For the sake of integrity, I think it's worth letting everyone know that two of our GTAF admins have been overseeing the judges' discussions and coordination. So if there actually was any sort of malice, it surely wouldn't be happening under their watch.

Obviously bcuz they cant dictate the rules therefore them overseeing means nothing. I personally am not claiming malace in the judging. I'm pointing out the unfairness in the criteria which is being overlooked. Either photoshop and video is required for all or its not allowed at all. You cant allow something that will gives some ppl and advantage over others and act like its fair.

Video is a way to present the character. A good textual description could as efficient that a good video.

 

And when you want to enter in a contest you can find the time otherwise you dont enter !

I'm not gonna bother quoting since I'm on mobile, but I'll say this: regardless of photography and video skills, which do consist of 10% each in the creative category (bios being 5% of course), our character's overall appearance consisted of a potential 75% for qualification. Kind of obvious for me to point out, but still worth the mention for those that didn't read the OP.

Well, which is it? Either contestants were given "points" for editing photos, which implies there was malice, or they were not given points for editing, and therefore there was no malice.

I don't think anyone here was actually complaining that the forum is for English-speakers. I believe SilentLady was responding to someone who said that videos give an unfair advantage to those that have the time or expertise to make one.

 

People had the choice to make a video or not, and some of the entries that made it through to the 2nd round did not include a video. For some people, making a video may come more naturally than for others who are better at writing a detailed biography. So in that regard, SilentLady is right. You cannot say that videos give an unfair advantage.

 

In any case, congratulations to all the entrants who made it. Good Luck. And well done to everyone who entered, all lovely characters in my book

Come on, don't be like that. It's English-based, not English-only. I think what others are pointing at is that if you have a hard time with typing in English then there is other forums out there dedicated to GTA that are in French. Fun fact: I'm French-Canadian (I swear and I have the worst French typing skills to back that up, tabarnak) and didn't have the best English skills but sticking around this forum helps me keep my English skills up and learn new words like salty and cry-baby. Those are my favorite at the moment. You're 100% welcome to GtaForums. Don't let anyone tell you you're not welcome...unless you're making a big deal out of losing a forum competition.

 

If I may add to the whole "corruption" argument...well, let's look at it this way. If there was a corrupted judge, how big of a difference would it make? Statistically, very little. There's 6 judges and 20 finalists. Now here's where I do calculations, right, but I suck at math so let's skip that and just assume that one judge can't pull 20 finalists out of 110 (or so) participants. Even if there was 2-4 finalists on that list from a corrupted judge, there's still 16+ fine ladies to pick from. Not saying that there is a few bad apples in the finale, of course. Again, beauty is subjective...but you kind of need a standard if you're gonna have a competition. My entry had the most likes with 111 likes and just overwhelming support and I got this illusion that if I didn't make it in the 2nd round the forum would be right out upset that I didn't make it. It got to my big inflated head, you know?

 

Yet here I am on the sidelines and on the field, at the moment, is a huge catfight and I'm so glad I'm not on that field. The finalists don't have to worry about beating each other but fending off those that don't agree with the final list. Honestly, it must be such a big burden on them and despite having my own favorites in the top 20, I fully support all of them just for what they must endure just for a forum competition win. People are just doing this for the fun of it. They're holding this competition for us to have a good time and we're letting losses lead us on a stray path that leads to nowhere but bitterness. Instead, why not stick to the main road of fun and just enjoy the discussions and judge women like real men do?

 

Thank you for taking the time to read this. I honestly don't want to fuel the flames but I think that a forum game should be that - a game. Despite not making it I massively enjoyed my time here and I plan to keep a close eye on the next stage(s). If I can't be a horse in a race, I'll root for another.

Hey, so I know I made a nice post just like 2 minutes ago but I'm looking through the finalists to see which I'm rooting for and I noticed YA BOY DIRT has not 5 pictures but rather 6 pictures, though his post was edited 10 hours ago. Not saying anything, just think it's a bit bizarre, though the last picture seems more like a thank you so it must be that.

Nevermind, I'm dumb. First 5 will be considered (right under the "no more or less than 5 pics" rule). Ignore this. Slap me silly.

Neither. Malice means with evil intent. I'm not saying ppl were excluded out of ill will. I'm saying your point system wasnt fair. Not everyone is good at image editing and making videos and some dont have the time. This gives a clear advantage to those who do therefore shouldnt have factored in the points since only some ppl would be getting these points.

To be frank I have to agree in some points with Lordani66. I decided myself not to compete, because of some things I saw on this forum.

To be more clear here a few of the points:

 

1.

 

One of the judges actively participated in sabotaging The Car Showdowns (which inspired this whole Miss LS thing in the first place)

2.

Some people get suspicious when someone new gets first time active in a contest (happened even in this thread)

 

3.

I was speculating similar to Lordani66 that friends of the juries will get much bigger chances for wining and I don't know anyone here personally.

 

4.

I think my character is rather generic, not so unique like Lordani66's character for example. It's my alt and I've actually created her very quick to check out what kind of shinies do the female characters get from all the DLCs.

5.

I just like to shoot photos, that bio-writing was a killer for me

 

6.

After the TOP20 results I'm happy with my decision, saved some time that way.

Just a few of my idols made it to the finals and the rest... Well, just to mention a few way better than the five (I won't name) that are in the top20:

Tonguegirl (truly epic character), Yukinosh*ta, Majkela, Gabriela_L (cute and very unique), Zenyattoast, Adorations, and Lordani66

 

Guess we can't have everything and @Lordani66 maybe it was just a bad choice of photos.

 

Still I would love to see the top20 together in a contest video, some trip video, hiking, biking whatever. It would be pretty cool. That way the "character" of the contestants would be shown a bit better, I guess.

 

Fair play and let the best win.
