Wow! Nearly all of these ideas sound terrible. I hope I never end up in any of these races.

Made a long technical circuit that weaves around Los Santos. Very happy with it :D

Using Mario Kart 64 as my influence, and incorporating high risk shortcuts. Also eliminating the possibility of overshooting checkpoints. Motorcycle drivers especially will be rewarded for maximum hang time.

Made a medium-short-ish technical race track somewhere around Alamo Sea:

Turns out, it's virtually impossible to make a large Figure 8 course using the pre-built intersection pieces, because you can't make a proper loop due to the lengths and bends of the available track pieces.

That's a real bummer. Figure 8 courses will have to be tiny.

Yeah I tried that and couldn't get it to fit :(

But I managed to make a track, check it out if you're on PS4 http://rsg.ms/b8140fb

For those that are cursing at some of the transitions between the normal streets and track pieces like tube entrances that are creating "death curbs" that cars can't drive over, use the "Blocks" that are the flat planes (from tiny to huge) and place them with "Stacked" set to On so they clip through the surfaces. I was able to create smooth transitions and occasional low ramps and saved my controller a few hurlings.

Can someone try to create Interlagos?

I'm not good with this. Really. I'M VERY BAD.

But, actually, is very easy to follow the layout. The problem is: since the track has some elevation, i couldn't connect the last part of the track with the finish line... :barf:

Don't forget to leave catch up on. Or beter yet, enable SUPER Catch up.

Won't be Mario Kart without crap design I mean rubberband ai.

And Blue shells.

I loved that game, but the rubberband ai was so infuriating.

Did a quick video showing the race I posted earlier. Nothing too fancy, just a decent circuit above LS :p

Sussus Amongus

A point to point motorcycle track that will finish inside the mineshaft.

But how are you going to remove the door?

OT: I was thinking of remaking some real life racetracks before release but it seems people already beat me to it. I'm probably gonna try to remake some of the Need For Speed Carbon canyon routes. I loved them. Maybe even the 8-Track from San Andreas.

I thought we would be able to "draw" our own circuit, and not mount it, with pre-made pieces.

For example, select terrain, edges, etc, and do a hand free circuit. I say that because, first, the camera, it is horrible, really. I can't move it how I want, where I need. Second, it is boring of how you can't make a proper circuit, for example, La Sarthe circuit: the objects are good for that, but you can't see all the whole circuit, you start at one point, and when you are about to connect it again, one point is at Brazil and the other one at Russia. Plus, you need to make a "floating" circuit, you can't make a new part of map with this new circuit, which is, bad. No escape zones (yes, there's a way to do them, but not for example, with gravel, to slown down cars), no way to make it looks like real.

I'm disappointed.

This has to be the best update ever for racing fans like me. The potential to make any racing track is awesome. Can't wait for a few more weeks/months when people really get the hang of using it.

I had the same idea to try make some fun track like Rainbow Road.

Sadly I tried and I suck.

So I made the boring flat Super Mario Kart Rainbow Road from the Gameboy version instead.

Dunno if this is accepted here as it's not a race (it is using the stunt props) but I made a soccer game. Should be the first thing people do seeing we get real soccer balls. Inspired heavily by Rocket League and an old soccer map I did on the Xbox 360 like two years ago three years ago, maybe (this was around December 2013, if I'm not wrong) using Insurgents as player vehicles and white Pantos as the balls. No link as I want to work on it more.

The track layout:

Players start in the airport and then take a straight highway (with a turn) up to the playing field. That means the field can be put up in the sky as well as getting good shots of all the cars clean before being all destroyed.

gbuxnro.png

Balls can be pushed here into the tube for a "drop-in" effect or, if you want it to be random or want to give a losing team an edge by dropping a ball in the left or right side of the map, you can push balls off the road points shown in the background:

QcOSDqo.png

I plan to add more objects if the map feels too empty after testing it with players:

F32x1DX.png

Goal and flaccid penis:

0p8um1E.png

At the end, players drop into the right team's tube/goal to go to the finish line with jumps for those that can or a tube for those that can't:

9FilC4x.png

We tested this out using stock SUV's. It's meant for custom supercars but the ball passes over them too easily:
UWcGTy6OT0KejTwnbuDf4A_0_0.jpg

The scoring area is big but tough to get to if the opposition has defense:
yGfGg8s5H0WVMEkhjNsJqA_0_0.jpg

Ramps make good goal keepers to avoid hugging the wall for easy wins:
Apby0njLAUikrU-omk2f1g_0_0.jpg

The ball isn't too heavy so these don't happen too often as it bounces around:
01lxcUyyTU2uIpBmjSOnlg_0_0.jpg

Those speed pads are amazing and a game-changer. You can't brake on it so we ended up overshooting the ball or flipping over:

Aren´t the ball physics local? So everybody sees the ball at a different location (like ragdolling objects)?

But you already tested it, so the answer should be NO

The answer is no, the ball shows up for everyone else in the same location, same bounce, same height. Lagging may be an issue but then again laggy soccer players aren't recommended.

A few props missing for me to give it a 10/10. Possibility to place curbs on their own, same for the road, too bad we cant place big blocks of it. And they should include tighter corners, if you only use the given props u cant make really twisty, technical turns or U-turns.

I also wouldnt mind if they doubled the number of props you can place hehe.
