Should there be animals in the next GTA title?

Just like how the title implies, should there be any animals in GTA Next? Personally, I would want them, depending on the location, but we definitely don't need them calling the fuzz on the protagonist.

I don't see why they shouldn't make an appearance. V has them, so why not GTAN?

I'd hope so, especially if the next setting features more countryside. If set in a city, well we've already seen domestic animals in Los Santos, so this would likely translate into the next title at the very least.

I would like to buy them as pets if they make a return. I'd love to buy a Parrot so he/she can sit on the protagonist's shoulder.:D

Although I don't think animals are really 100% needed for a GTA game, the glaring obvious absence of them from GTA Online is enough to tell me they should be in it again. besides Rockstar is all about creating that immersion so if they do (and hopefully they do) concentrate more on SP next time round, we'll see even more detail and animals in the next title. I really like the idea of them being buyable pets too as mentioned... They could just latch on to whatever safehouse you're in like Chop in V and you can choose to take 'em with you or not.

It Truly is a novel thing to feel guilty about hitting a deer on the highway but not shooting dead an entire gang of people.

I would say no, since i'm sensitive in those aspects, I wouldn't really like to see a domestic animal getting killed or something close.

But small pets could work, like Ryan added.

Depends on the location if it's an urban map we should see rats and stray dogs or cats. If it's more open with a countryside there should be bears and whatever else creature out there. They should make sense too I shouldn't be seeing dolphins swimming around the Humboldt in Liberty City or an elephant running down the street in whichever city it's set in.

I don't care for animals. Another pointless thing that takes away resources from more important things imo.

No, animals on gta online will just make things even more worse with longer loading screens, frame drops , and glitches.

Yes but I'd like to see more interaction with them, like in RDR. As in animals hunting/fighting each other and attacking peds, instead of just focusing on our character.

in next GTA, there will be pink flamingos, parrots, pelicans, manatees, spoonbills, crocs, toucans and roaming cats

Definitely. Animals made the game feel more lively.

Without them, well, it just feels empty. (like Online)

I think Rockstar will continue to feature animals. It should be limited ( even lesser than seen in V ) and don't want them to focus too much by using development resources that could go to more important aspects of the game. Don't want R* to make us buy animals as pets, or interactivity beyond necessary. Simply feature a couple of animals in the game world for immersion sake, that's it

GIVE ME HORSES!

Seriously, they'd be an intriguing way to Travel around the Map.

I think they make sense as roaming animals but being rideable feels kind of off in a GTA game in my honest opinion.

Imagine a Zoo, where you can free the animals lol.

It sounds like much, but imagine an accessible aquarium and causing a flood in there by shooting one of the glass exhibits. :santa:

I don't really care that much to be honest. They're nice I guess, but I never really pay that much attention to them in V. Rideable animals like horses would be cool though.

Rockstar should endeavor to continue providing the most realistic open world they can, so yes animals are part of that.

Yeah of course.

It just adds more realism to the in-game world. If there was one thing V did so right, it was the inclusion of wild animals, it was about time GTA had added them, and RDR had already proved how it greatly contributed to the in-game environment.

If the next GTA is set in Vice City I'd like to see dense, forested swampy terrain with alligators and other Florida wildlife. And the ocean underwater can have coral reefs with even more sea life.

Lets be honest...animals are not useful for us,but they make the game more real and more dinamyc and it feels more alive. And it's nice to see a gang with a dog with them or if you are in a alley its nice to see a cat xD

If animals come back, I hope we're allowed to interact with them more and see them in various places like zoos.

For realism purposes, yes. Just as long as they don't share a telepathic link with the cops, all is good.

So this can vary depending on locations but their needs to be generally make them more common and give them more to do. Animals in V were so boring, oh look I can shoot them. Oh look I just took a picture of a live one. I look I just got my face mauled off by a f*cking mountain lion.

When I say they need more to do, I mean R* need to make animals interact with the environment and maybe even peds, like a dog who got off its leash and is now being chased through town by its owner in an attempt to catch it, or an angry old lady who is yelling at feral cats and maybe even have immersive peds who go around the wilderness and hunt animals with you and it could become an activity to see who can hunt the most animals or something along those lines.

Dog companions need to be rethinked too. Chop was cool and all but purchasable pets should be an option. Its breed could be a factor on its abilities, maybe a stongly built dog could take out enemies fairly easily but be more slower meanwhile a more agile dog can chase and bring down enemies to the ground giving you a window for an attackf. And dogs could also be brought in on any mission (within reason) to help you. And the phone app was stupid, three mini games to get a collar...yippie!

Generally just make them a bigger part of the environment. What do you guys think?
