That scenery makes the track for me. How did you make the audience seating (lack of better vocabulary) at the finiah line? Looks soooo good.

It's called bleachers I believe ?

It's a 30° turn, from the raised tracks, placed sideway (black and white but you can choose whatever color you want) + on top is a... one of the "drops" (I have no idea what it's called in english) placed backwards.

 

There is plenty of props here used sideways, upside down etc ^^

That's what I mean when I say "creative use of certain props / objects" to fill certain gaps or to do things that would normally be impossible... or that would require many more objects !

Don't forget that you can use any part of any objects, in any direction. So pay attention to how the object is.. t can be handy :)

 

I see you fit the track so perfectly, its just purely using the advance option? It took so much time to do a simple adjustment for one prop, let alone the whole track! I really appreciate the effort you put on the track.

 

A minor suggestion, the hairpin turn (the second CP) could be banked a little bit more, and that would be perfect :)

Probably, but not anytime soon.

Considering how long it takes to do this, that I'm working on my own original tracks on the side, and that I don't always have time to play / build.. ^^

Probably, but not anytime soon.

Banked turns means a slight angle lean towards the inside of the corner, on turn 4 and turn 8.

Oh ok. Needed to make sure.

Turn 8 was fine to do that because it's a larger/longer one.
Turn 4 is complicated (maybe not impossible, but would take a lot more time and more props also), since it's a tighter turn.
Especially the way I've built it, with several 45° turns. Making them fit all together in 2D (flat or almost) smoothly was already a pain lol

If you/I have to do that "banked" then, in 3D, the road props will most likely not fit together anymore (due to how they are). Or I would need double the amount of props to correct them.

I can give it a try and see if it's actually doable (without spending 15 hours more - yes) but I can't promise anything ^^

I'm about to see a La Sarthe circuit here. I tried to do one 2 times, but due to circuit's lenght, I couldn't match up 2 points at end: while one was going to south, the other was poiting to north. This R* editor made it really hard, seriously. They could've let us make a hand-free map, which consumes a lot less memory and give us much better results.

I was thinking about doing La Sarthe but it's such a huge track prop limit could be an issue. Also maybe Silverstone? Trying to think of tracks that are nice and flat since elevation changes are a pain to get right lol

Breathtakingly, the object limit isn't a problem, really. I managed to make it with real proportions, unfortunately couldn't join both points, so I gave up. The elevations changes, yes, they do happen in real-life circuit, but I did not made them, simply because it would make it too hard and give me even more problems then. Silverstone could be an option, but I figured out that, as much the circuit change direction, harder it is to join each point at end.

I may still attempt Silverstone but yes getting the track pieces to join up can be a pain but managed to fudge it with Snetterton and Thruxton without anyone probably noticing the join points :-)

Might be my next project. Seems fairly doable, except for the amount of trees there is in the real life one lol Will depends on the amount of props I will have left after making the actual track.

In the R* editor, the props are all over the place and the colour does not match with whats i the game.

e.g. the large green building blocks you uses as the ground will sometimes pops up from in ground in the footage

 

And that green part are very likely to be the building blocks (ground) clipping through the track

Ah... I see. As long as it's all fine and eveything is where it's supposed to be during gameplay.

 

And yeah it's a building block that shouldn't be seen on this side. Underneath is actually a large landing pad (not a track piece).

Just a quick note, I was able to play around with the editor today, I've worked a little bit on Monza, trying to figure out the tight corners.
So far, I've only built up to turn 3 (included), only bare roads and it's not totally perfect.

It seems simple ! But those turns man..

 

lol I'm so far from done. It's tideous and so long.. the track is very long itself as well.
I won't be able to play till this week end too, so. Wait and see.

There is many tracks on PS4, not equally good but you have a fair choice ^^

See which ones fits what you're looking for.

That could be an idea.
I'm just afraid there would be too many, and it would be too messy lol but why not.

This is as precise as I can get to the real thing. Video is a test lap in a fully custom RE-7B, followed by pictures of the new layout, including the superimposed image I made to perfect the alignment. Bookmark if you like. Thanks!

OK this is not a real circuit but my attempt at a realistic fictional track.

 

I have tried to blend it into the environment so it looks like part of the map rather than just floating in the air.

Imagine someone concreted part of the Alamo Sea and built a race track on it lol.

 

Quite pleased with the layout, has a nice mix of corners and has a kinda club circuit/test track feel to it?

That feeling when you're off from work and you blow your whole day in the creator trying to replicate Circuit Gilles Villeneuve (spent around 8 hours working on it), you finally publish it so you can test it with your car, and see a wave go through the road ... I've done like a doozen tests during creation and that never happened. I'm done with creator for some time I think. :/

 

Luckly some nice circuits in this thread I can try out. Hopefully more follows. :)

Also, re-watch some GT6 gameplay video and work on the scenery to make it look a like, and you're onto something.

Make it 16 players (using a 16p starting grid, not 30), and preferably for small / slower vehicles (compacts mainly, even caddies if you want lol)
