Unable to mod/sell zentorno - Rockstar refusing to help

Hi,

I would like some some advice from fellow GTA Online players as I have exhausted all attempts with Rockstar Support.

Basically, I purchased a zentorno when the car was first released (can't remember when it was, maybe 2014?) and I have been able to mod it ever since up until I started a heist setup a few weeks ago. During the setup mission, someone left and obviously the mission was failed and we all got booted out of it (another annoying problem). When I was placed back into free mode, something very glitchy happened and two of my zentorno's appeared on the road. Only one I was able to get into (the one with the little personal vehicle symbol showing up on the minimap). It was from this point that whenever I took my zentorno to LSC I received the message in the top left saying cannot mod this vehicle. I tried all of the following to try get it to work:

- Blow up and receive new one via Mors Mutual

- Impounded

- Mod via iFruit app then attempt to take to LSC

- Clear temp game files on PS4

- Using in other races/missions etc.

- Getting someone else to drive and blow up etc.

There is no remote or ignition bomb loaded onto the car.

Now when I emailed rockstar, I received the most ridiculous set of replies. Apparently, according to whatever system they use to pick up this information, I have never purchased a zentorno...?! And therefore they are unable to verify that I have purchased one, therefore I cannot mod the vehicle. After supplying various screenshots and videos of my online character entering and exiting the personal vehicle in my own garage(!), and driving it around to LSC to prove the message comes up, they are still saying they are unable to verify the zentorno purchase.

Has anyone else come across this sort of problem? I can't believe Rockstar are being so unhelpful and quite rude, I feel. They are basically accusing me of lying, and potentially cheating, which I think is really out of order. I told them that perhaps because I have his glitch, it has been reflected on their system as a non-purchase. But I said to them, how can I have a personal vehicle in my garage, with my own crew emblem on, which I can destroy and get back etc., which isn't a zentorno I've purchased in-game.........?!

Thanks in advance.

Have you used the vehicle for any dupe glitches or anything similar?

Sometimes, the vehicles get flagged as dupes, and will usually lose sell options and rarely customization options.

When the Zentorno and similar vehicles were released, the game was bug-ridden, and some cars bought back in 2014 seem to carry a false duplication flag. Rockstar typically verifies purchases with screenshots of your transaction history on the in-game Maze Bank website, although since you purchased the car so long ago, it won't appear in your recent transactions. If necessary, calling the Rockstar help line and putting on your sweetest voice sometimes gets results, although I've had little luck with it personally.

I've also heard once before, from a former friend, that heists caused him to no longer be able to sell his Z-Type. No idea if he ever got it fixed. I'm going to suppose that the heist dropping caused the flag to be falsely tripped on your car.

My Zentorno also cannot be sold, but can still be modified, it was purchased around the same time as yours, but I duped mine for days so I really deserve it. Sorry if this isn't helpful.

Any chance you have Patriort Smoke on the tyre smoke?

This is sometimes another reason the car won't allow it to be modified as some users have issues with that smoke on cars, as Zadar has suggested

though I would say phone contact is the best option for you to explain it all properly.

Thanks for the replies guys, I thought my post would drift away with no responses.

Zader - Nope I haven't used my zentorno or any other vehicles (I only own one other!) for glitches etc. I don't even know how to do any of that. I'm quite a novice gamer, I just play games how they're meant to be played. I am worried they have me down as a modder or a cheater now, and I don't know why, I've done nothing wrong!

Tails - Yes I do have patriot tyre smoke and I thought that this may be a contributing factor, however I was able to mod and sell it before starting the heist setup mission I mentioned. So I sort of ruled that out..!

I've added some more comments to reflect yours to the support ticket, I'll wait to see what the say, and if I still have no luck I'll try finding the phone number to call them.

Have you tried to replace it? Fill up your garages and buy another car - or find one and take it to a garage. You'll get asked if you want to replace one of your cars, and then choose your Zentorno. Yes, you'll loose the car and it's irritating and unfair, but it may be the best way to end this quickly so you can move on and enjoy the game. It's not that hard to earn money to buy a new one.

That's what I would do.

Hi C64Fanatic,

Yes I am able to replace it by cramming my garage full of other cars, and I expect I will do that if I don't get anywhere with Rockstar Support, but unfortunately I'm not the sort of person who can let things like this go without a bit of a fight first! I doubt I will win but at least I tried :-)

Okay, but no matter what you'll spend a lot of time and effort. Instead you could replace it right now and move on.

But yes - I used to be like that too, so I know how it is :) .

Seems then that they when they disabled the Independance Day DLC this problem was once again reactivated.

I'll test out my cars that I fitted with Patriot Tyre smoke and see what happens with then but good luck, it's hard going with the support staff, it took

me quite a few weeks to explain them the issues we were having with the Ifruit Ap but they finally sorted it so there is always a chance they will

sort your Zentorno.

Hello everyone. I have good news! This is what Rockstar replied:

We sincerely apologize for the delay in our response and all the inconvenience you have experienced with GTA Online. We would like to inform you that we have removed the Zentorno from your account and provided you with GTA$1,589,816 as a customer accommodation. We request you to kindly logout of GTA Online and login back to receive the gifted GTA$.

Persistence paid off :) cheers for the advice anyway guys.
