I dusted off my 360 today and decided to play some good old IV:MP again. To my surprise, there were people still playing. I managed to join in to some deathmatch with maybe 2 minutes left and about 3 people somewhere in Algonquin. I got a few kills la la la... and I noticed something. Your payouts aren't decided by some R* defaults and some other added variables, but by how many kills you or your team have racked up. I managed to get a fair 1300+ in the match and I got to thinking. What if R* added the IV styled payouts to GTA Online as an added bonus? No more will your 20+ minute matches where you get 100 or so kills pay a measly 13-16k. Instead of that; you'd get the 16k + the 10k from your 100 kills. It would make deathmatches more engaging and worthwhile.

And for those that haven't played IV multiplayer; a video of a 20 minute team deathmatch from GTAmissons:

An 8 year old game has a more functioning and well-balanced gamemode than GTA Online, it's enough proof to show that Rockstar is out of focus when it comes to their game and out of touch with their fanbase.

Balanced? Maybe but a lot weapons in IV were indeed broken like explosive shotguns and snipers

The jobs the community makes are usually death traps while the Good jobs are a small minority.

The worst thing Rockstar has introduced is the bulletproof helmet.

Well the difference here is that money in IV's multiplayer is used for ranking up meanwhile in GTA Online it's called RP.

I think if Rockstar keeps making more game mode related updates. We will eventually get an update focused on balancing Deathmatch's.

I dont see how the community created maps are related to R*'s inability to create a balanced deathmatch map, GTA IV had choices between pistols to shotguns to snipers to keep things fresh as well as giving us the option of having the entire map as our playground with no interference from cops, while Online is streamlined to have Forced or Pick-ups or Owned, limiting the potential and fun to have from the modes.

----------------

If we haven't gotten a balance in nearly three years, why should we expect a sudden fix to an abandoned gamemode? This game had three major releases on five different platforms and they all have the same issues.

As much as I would like this, it would do one of two things:

1)Bring more players to DMs, which means more legit players and more fun.

2)Make everyone play dirtier than they already do.

I would prefer they fix DMs before the payouts, all it is is a place for people to spam explosives and reveal players, they don't want profit, just kd.

A Madvillain

The death messages were hilarious.

"Player 1 farmed Player 2."

"Player 1 clocked Player 2."

"Player 1 blitzed Player 2."

"Player 1 perforated Player 2."

"Player 1 2nd amendmented Player 2."

"Player 1 decommissioned Player 2."

Deathmatch payout needs to be improved.

Disable that thing called KDR.

Bulletproof helmet only bulletproof to weak weapons like the lamar pistol and shotgun pellets.

I feel like the bullet proof helmets should've been cosmetic only. They've forced a metagame, wherein either you have one, or you die to anybody that can aim upward. They'll never do that, so they should make players wearing them worth more points or something.

GET 3RD WORLDED, SON

OT: Agreed, though I still don't care for deathmatches because PVP simply sucks in this game.

-Insert filthy TBOGT footage here-

You should have posted footage of IV or TLAD Deathmatch, preferably console version with free aim, not filthy, ugly, and casualized TBOGT Deathmatch on PC where bulletspread is broken.

Watched that whole thing lol. Ugh, forgot how fun IV was in general, it's been about five years for me. Have seen some factory sealed PS3s at my local target recently... I think i'm gonna buy one, seeing as sony won't even digitally sell decent PS3 games on PS4...

DM in GTAO are a lost cause, so broken and full of cheaters. Race/freeroam or bust..

I'm quite sure this kind of payout would make spawn trap deathmatches even more popular...

Wish we have Deathmatches like this one

but Rockstar f*cked up with GTA Online having small maps which make it look like *cough* call of duty *cough*
