Quality of DLC Clothes and Cars

Is it me or has the quaity of the cars, clothes and other aestetic features improved considerably since the release of the game.

Focussing on the cars for now the original vehicles now seem pretty basic and generic in appearence (IMO now look almost ugly or at least plain). With sucessive DLC they have become more 'beautiful' if you want to use an adjective.

Even things like tatoos have improved in terms of look and design imo. Clothing seems to have a more vibrant and pleasing feel to the flat and almost generic designs of old. I know that as games mature they should begin to look better but the fact GTA has IMO seems to be a bonus given all R* had to do was simply add new items to fulfil it's mission statement. That the seem to be making an effort (at least somewhere) to give something extra to it's customers is quite a nice surprise.

What are your views?

Meh, inconsistent. Some stuff looks great, some clothes (for example) look surprisingly bad.

Yes, the cars, detail wise have gotten much much better. Sound and looks wise.

Take the trophy truck for example. It has a real working suspension. Like, the rear axle has a 4 link setup that actually moves they way it is supposed to (unlike the bendy axles of the lowriders) and the entire truck being equally as detailed. The entire body can come off in sections and reveal an entirely detailed tube frame. The engine sound is spot on with a very lumpy idle and a high reving V8 sound with plenty of mechanical whine you'd expect from a race vehicle.

I can go on and on. I am very impressed with the vehicles lately.

Uh, no? It's random and inconsistent as f*ck. This past update was potentially the best update we've gotten thus far, so I do hope this becomes a trend for the future, but in the past we've gotten some real sh*t cars in both design and performance, and other updates had okay ones. No real order.

For clothing, eh. Always up and down, but I care less.

Probably because it is current-gen consoles/PC only now. They couldn't have much detail on last-gen because it would be so blurry.

From vehicles,I'd say it depends on each vehicle, some new vehicles are beautiful and some look very ugly, some of my favorite cars and bikes are from DLCs,but so are some of my least favorite cars.I did notice that the new vehicles usually have better sound.Customization of some vehicles also improved a lot with the Benny's garage.

From clothing,I'm glad to see more variety. At first most stuff was casual clothes, but now there's a lot of different stuff, and players can choose what they want their character to wear (baggy gangsta stuff, prohibition mob style suits, tactical stuff, racing suits...).In fact, one of my favorite clothing items in game is from a DLC,the full black leather jacket from Heists.

^being ugly or beautiful has nothing to do with the quality of the content.

I think it's very possible there could be another year and a half to two years of updates. Compared to story driven content, GTAO content is pretty easy to put together relatively fast. I could be way off, but i don't see r* killing the cash cow in it's peak..

Uh, no, most of the vehicles of the latest updates (except for the V12s) have recycled engine and exhaust sounds, what's worse is that they still rebadge the cars with the wrong brands like labelling a Shelby Cobra as a Chevrolet or labelling a Toyota Tundra as a Ford.

Female clothing is lacking and all the black items are still poorly-compressed purple and green mosaics, but I do like the fact that I can wear those russet jackets now, even if the outfit still keeps getting wiped when I save it.

Every single one. Ironically the V12 is one of the few without a unique sound, it uses the Schwartzer engine sound.

And they arent labeling the wrong brands. They arent real cars no matter how much you think they are. They are made up cars and made up brands, and can be whatever Rockstar wants them to be.

Nope, I'll make several points obvious for you:-

*The Omnis has the Kuruma engine and exhaust sound, not a 5-cylinder sound like the real Quattro

*The RE-7B has a remixed Pegassi engine noise that is shared with the Zentorno, Cheetah, Vacca, and Reaper.

*The Tyrus shares the T20's notes, albeit tuned up for s more racecar feel.

*Schafter V12 is literally just a rebadged Schafter with a V12 engine, the game claims the original is a "biturbo V8" when it just sounds like a V6. The regular Schafter and V12 don't share the same engine nor exhaust sounds.

*Nightshade has the same engine sound as any generic muscle car like the Vigero and Sabre, which is kind of excusable since it's based on a Pontiac and a Camaro, both under GM.

*Donk recycled the Marshal's and Liberator's noise

*The FMJ recycled the Entity's noise

*many more, but I'll limit it to this for now to not overflood the page.

Also, saying that Rockstar are free to do whatever they want suggests that you have no counter-claims at your disposal besides this generic barebone one, nice work.

Since they're based on and designed after real life cars with some changes to the design cue to prevent lawsuit, it would make much more sense to label them with their parody brand that represents the real life car, no? It's basically an insult to the legacy of a legendary car by labelling it with the badge of its competitor, it also looks stupid as f*ck when a Japanese design car is given an American car manufacturer badge or slipping an offroad car with a high combustion engine to an electric car manufacturer, it just ruins the integrity behind each car brand and waters down their supposed line-up.

So yes, they ARE labelling wrong brands on wrong cars, I don't know what makes you think otherwise.

Yeah f*ck it, you are going on the ignore list. Congrats.

Literally none of those have the same sound apart from the FMJ. You are an idiot.

Best bet would be to have someone on PC who knows what they're doing to check the paths.

The clothes haven't gotten particularly better, but they have gotten more varied, and variety is exactly what you should be going for. The cars have definitely improved with every single update. The downside to both of these things is that every update introduces progressively more completely ridiculous price tags.

since heist-ill gotten gains the quality of the vehicles and clothes improved a lot...

most of the black and dark blue clothes still have the good ol purple and black pattern in them, the red shirts are more pink than red but overall clothes have improved and more varied.

theres still room for improvement like making stuff like "the logo transfer" glitch and the "mask/helmet/cap" glitch into proper features.

the improvement is more visible in the cars...

from the working retractable spoiler in the t20, to the huge amount of interior details in the sultan rs and working flaps of the proto, they are really making a nice efford buiding this cars and adding proper sound to them.

The quality for clothes is inconsistent as some are good like IGG2, FFAF, Lowriders 1 and 2, Valentines while some like EAOC, Cunning stunts, Independence day and others are meh.

For cars also inconsistent as the new cars they released nowadays are f*cking ugly to me which is why I still drive my Osiris and Schafter V12.

Or maybe he just doesn't want to waste his time arguing with someone whos clearly got their head stuck up their own ass, maybe he has some experience with doing so just being completely and utterly pointless, as you just presented a list of arguments that either show that you're completely tonedeaf or that you're recycling the words of someone else who's completely tonedeaf without actually having explored and checked out the validity of said arguments yourself.

And for future reference the Shelby Cobra is not a Ford (Vapid), IRL it was using a Ford engine and sold by them in the U.S. but the manufacturer is british-based AC Cars. As is clearly evidenced by Pegassi and Karin each manufacturer in GTA is usually an umbrella for multiple RL brand parodies, so whilst it to some degree would be logical to put the Cobra under Vapid it's not necessarily so. Also, there have been a history from previous GTA games where Vapid, Declasse & Albany all have been mixing with various american-made cars so we already know this is not a 100% rule. At the end of the day they put them where they want. The only real mistake I think on their part is putting the Kuruma under Karin, but then it has a history as a Karin from previous GTA games as Maibatsu had not yet been introduced, but I do think a Maibatsu Kuruma would've been more appropriate to flesh out the brand as it currently only holds the Penumbra.

As for the engine sounds... Get a hearing aid mate, I don't know which of your statements there sound the most ridiculous...

Uh, no.

- RE-7B does sound like Reaper/Infernus, but not Vacca/Cheetah/Zentorno. Those two sets are completely different sounds.

- Tyrus sounds exactly like the X80 Proto, not T20.

- Nightshade doesn't sound like Vigero/Dukes/Ruiner/Phoenix/gazillion other muscle cars. It has its own sound, reminiscent of Tampa or Buccaneer - but still, not the same.

It's very inconsistent if you are to view it chronologically, even if you put aside the performance, performance balance and price inflation factors:

1. IGG 1/2: Good. The last updates for LG, this included some smoking-hot supers (P1, Huayra), timeless classics (300SLR) and other vehicles that suit different tastes. There's some really heavy interior-reusing there (god damn Stirling GT with that god damn muscle dashboard), but it's understandable since the decisively-outdated LG consoles were not excluded like later updates.

2. Lowriders 1: Great. Even though I'm personally not a fan of lowriders, it cannot be denied that Lowriders 1 has set a new high for vehicle customization and detail, and what the game is capable of when freed of the shackles of LG.

3. Halloween 2015: Acceptable. While not super-customizable like Benny vehicles, the Franken Stange and Lurcher both see great details to them (Franken Stange's shaking engine, Lurcher's zombie, and both cars have decent liveries).

4. Executives: Decent. It's a bit inconsistent even within itself - the non-executive cars don't even have a interior trim option, and while the executive vehicles are all pretty well-made, they're incredibly repetitive (SWB, LWB, SWB Armored, LWB Armored), and all of them are rehashes of existing vehicles (although the Cognoscenti is a welcomed return). There are hints that they've paid good attention to details though - The Schafter V12 sounds magnificent, and the Cognoscenties all have muffled interiors fitting a luxurious executive vehicle.

5. February Surprise: Good. While people will complain endlessly about their performance and classing, the Sultan RS and the Banshee 900R represents the possibilities of the Benny's system introduced in Lowriders 1. You can make a good tuner or even racer car out of those two, and while there are slightly less options than the Lowriders, they are nevertheless greatly-detailed.

6. Valentine 2016: Meh. One single car that is a customizable rehash of an old one, and the level of customization pales in comparison to Halloween. 'nuff said.

7. Lowriders 2: Piss-poor. The remainder of the unreleased cars from Lowrider 1, with less customization in general and barely any creativity over the original. All-in-all an inferior car update to the original Lowriders and a complete waste of an update timeslot.

8. Finance and Felony: Good. They've introduced new interiors with the FMJ and X80 Proto, some decent additions to the Sports class and another new SUV. The X80 Proto in particular is the most customizable car in terms of painting thus far, although it is somewhat cancelled out by the forced, unpaintable black sections. The X80 is also noteworthy for introducing new, exciting car sounds to the game. The XLS Armored also gets point deductions for its non-changeable limo tint.

9. Cunning Stunts: Excellent. Two classic rally icons (Omnis, Tropos), along with even more legitimate race cars (Tyrus, ETR1, RE-7B) and exciting new off-roaders (Trophy Truck, Raid), some even come with correctly-colored classic racing liveries (e.g. Tyrus' first, both of ETR1's). This is a far cry from the old Festive Surprise where R* simply slapped a random livery on the Jester and Massacro, gave them a little performance boost and called them race cars (even though they are still street car-proportioned with street car interiors).

Conclusion: There is no observable trend in quality. They can shift from really good (Lowriders 1, Exec, Feb Surprise) to complete sh*t (Valentine, Lowriders 2) and then back to stunningly-good (F&F, Stunning) in short order.

It's improved but it's also up and down, especially car wise.

Clothes they've improved the detailing significantly but at the same time they've introduced quite a number of new stuff that you actually can't layer. That said I'm pleased they've introduced the likes of bombers, harringtons, jumpers and Sukajans to the game, although I still think they need to improve the glasses range as well as haircuts (and beards ftm) available in game.
