Regal1970
I know in theory it should matter what wheels / tires you put on a car. For example you wouldn't want to put off-road tires on a Tyrus or X80. In real life you would want a racing wheel / tire on a performance car and off-road tires on a truck, and regular tires on a passenger car. However, in GTA land, does it really affect the handling, traction, and overall performance of the vehicle? Has anyone tested this out? And what exactly is a "Tuner wheel"? Thanks!! MaleTiger
Some people use Off-road wheels as they believe it makes them have more grip. Not just off-road but in the city races too.
HeatproofLemur
Maybe it was just me but buying tuner wheels for my asea made it feel like it had more grip instead of under steering into a lamp post as usual, so I'd say changing the wheels does have an effect
RayD70
It's mostly a placebo effect. It's very hard to quantify and 2 drivers will have 2 different opinions. However, off-road tires ARE useful on certain vehicles. They absorb bounces better (tuners also to a lesser amount) - the thicker the tire wall, the better the effect. It helps those who like to abuse kerb boosting. It also helps to prevent those traction losses you can get from hitting a random bump. But again, this only really works on some vehicles (the ones that allow the tires to clip through the car). Off road tires seem to give better traction off road, but that could also be placebo effect (or just another example of their absorbing bounces better). YMMV With the most recent update, there is one car that absolutely is affected by tire choice: the RE-7B. Keeping stock tires along with the last spoiler option makes it extremely faster - with a sacrifice of traction. This also appears to affect the Tyrus, but the effect is much smaller. Personally, I prefer tuner tires on most of my cars. They look better than off roads and give me some measure of confidence. But it's mostly in my head, I'm sure. Try things out and if YOU think it works for YOU, go for it. Edited July 16, 2016 by RayD70
GodAllMarley
I'd say it does, I've played around with my karuma, switching from off road to race tires, and race tires I get more slide and drift out of my karuma as opposed to the off road tires where I get more grip and more corner hugging turning out of
Above Omnipotence
Yes, all tires have different effects on vehicles, not a placebo effect. The "glitched" new Super vehicle gives a clear as day hint.
