I own a PS2 and was thinking of getting the PC version. So for the people who also own a PS2 and bought GTA3 for the PC and are going to get Vice also, why did you do it? What are the reasons that you bought the PC version?

(per)Menant Dreams

Because you can do modding. For example, you can f*ck with Tommys clothes, Add new cars, format exsisting cars, and add whole new islands..etc etc etc. You get the idea, you can just do a whole lot more with something more powerful than a Playstation.

I knew about modding but is that it?

MP3 Player but you could also play music on your computer in the background while you're playing vice on the PS2

GTA3 and Vice City would probably run slower on my computer than on my PS2. That's the reason why I don't have the pc version. That and I don't feel like shelling out the extra dough.

Well the PS2 is actually a powerfull machine. It's 333Mhz but with a 128 bit cpu....While all the available pc cpu's are still just 32 bit...Plus the graphics chip...

@delorean...You can up to a point...Right now I'm working on modding the ps2 GTA3 and I'm getting much closer...But I can't do it with out the help of someone who can skin a model....And if I can get it to work then I can start on vice as soon as the new dff files are figured out...

I never saw GTA3 much on PS2 - but I'm sure PC version looks a hell of a lot better,

you can mod it,

listen to your own music - put files in

program files\GTAIII\mp3  - Supreme,

there is a multiplayer mod,

can change player skin,

everything that everyone's said - and that PC's are the BEST - only good thing about PS2 is that the games come out 1st on them. But better having a long wait on pc - enjoy it so much more!!

Patches.

Patches are not a good thing fanboy. If it's good it shouldn't need patches in the first place, patches = sloppy devs.

dont see the need in buying vc when it comes out for pc.  modding ha! sure you can edit some skins etc, but in order to change the coding like adding new islands etc, you need the developers tools. and that something they always dont want to give out. thats what happend to MOH on PC, EA never released sdk so that everyone can mod. now its dying

oh and spearhead brought some life back into it, but then again died away

The no.1 reason to get vc for pc has been wrote too many times in this thread so i wont say it :).

PC-version will probably get the minor bugs fixed that appeared in the ps2-version and they will add some nice improvements like *a bit* better graphics and sounds and chance for own mp3s and skins.

I still dont think there will be mp with the pc-version  :bored:. They probably wont get it ready before the release no matter how hard they would try.
