Enough already. Shark cards are optional, period. The prices of items are supposed to reflect that of a 3 YEAR OLD game. Not for anyone new or casuals. The game is also not ruined and still sees a huge influx of players week in and week out. Despite the minority of deplorables here, running their mouth with bullsh*t.

None of you are entitled to anything this game has to offer beyond initial purchase price. There is no grinding, period. You make what you will of this game. There is no, "I don't have time to play like the rest, but I still demand to have everything". That's about as immature as it gets. Also, don't get pissy because those who choose to support the game ABOVE AND BEYOND the purchase price are rewarded for their support.

Stop complaining about having to buy expensive cars in this game. Yes it is GTA and guess what? It is possible to steal and joyride around in literally every car, now. The literal definition of Grand Theft Auto. You can't throw "ownership" into a conversation including the phrase GRAND THEFT AUTO, period. What kind of stupid end game is there in finding every car driving around in the game and taking them and finding a place for them to KEEP? Dafuq you gon' do with all those stolen rides? Oh, right, most of us know the answers to that question and there is NO LOGIC in any of it. Just greed, entitlement, ego stroking and bragging rights. And that's just sad.

It's not up to any of us, what happens with this game. If more would just accept that this game isn't for them and move the f*ck along, instead of bitching about irrelevant nonsense and the sh*t that doesn't fit their idea of how things should go, things would change. You're not doing anything or proving anything by sticking around and cheating or whatever else, to try and 'stick it' to R* for not catering to your little snowflake ass.

Ya know.. Spending all day grinding on GTA O is not something to be proud of.. Call them FILTHY casuals all you want.. Jokes on you in the end.. lol

Without filthy casuals dropping money on cash cards.. R* would not be putting out any more updates for your ass to grind for.

If ever there is a ruin to R it will come from players being forced into free mode to play DLC content with Mal-contented souls

Until gta v where literally all they improved were the graphics while downgrading a lot of the things that made gta as a franchise unique and different from so many companies.

FOR f*ckS SAKE, THANK YOU!!!

Shark cards did NOT ruined anything, R* is making more money than ever.

In fact, I wholeheartly support their decision to stick to shark cards, if I want new cars, guns, clothes, etc... I will have to work for it, but SO f*ckING WHAT?

I HATE games that hand everything to you in silver plate, and I like how we have the chance to acquire the new DLC itens without having to pay ridiculous "season passes" or opening our wallets and pay with real money for a bundle of DLC itens that would certainly cost more than they are worth, I HATE THAT.

The only thing I don't like about Shark Cards is how they are directly affecting what kind of stuff goes to singleplayer, but even then, V has such a mediocre singleplayer that I don't mind it at all.

ALL THE MONEY IN THE WORLD...doesn't mean sh*t if you're playing in an EMPTY SANDBOX

Have everything in this game...still bored with a HUGE map and NOONE around

if EVERYONE PLAYING THIS GAME was GIVEN EVERYTHING...they would get bored real quick

SHANK CARDS aren't the problem...

LAZY GAME DESIGN...too busy counting their money instead of transforming a USELESS DESERT environment into a USEFUL ONE...AND ADDING MORE THAN 32 PLAYERS

"imagine going to a big dance club...and it's empty...only a tiny amount of people are in there...in the bathroom" - and the asshole griefer in the jet

...the future looks bright for the gaming industry...eventually...WE'LL HAVE THE GAME WE DESERVE

"everywhere I go...I'll see a player doin somethin" - thousands of players in a session

Sounds like you need a better ISP, an open NAT type or to clear your system cache.

I play in free aim and always end-up in sessions with on average 24-28 players in it.

Why should casual players have easy access to all the cool extra stuff more dedicated gamers worked for?

Besides its choice anyway...you don't HAVE to own every house car, gun, etc you pick and choose what YOU want, nothing is forced on you...but the cooler and better stuff WILL cost more, its such a basic concept to grasp and the most fair...

isn't that the whole point behind the argument about having the marksman rifle and homing launcher available to purchase for low levels? the fact that you have to get to a certain rank for the regular sniper and RPG yet the arguably better versions are already unlocked...

Single player sounds about right.

What about the devs who worked on the content?

While I'm fine with Shark Cards, but I gotta say it definetly ruined Rockstar attention to the details.

I mean, updates are getting released, but quality of such updates are dropping, feeling like they're rushing it too.

In the game this huge, they have to update it frequently, I mean, I lost One Million GTA$ sale thanks to recent update, that broke Special Cargo Delivery in Titan.

How does such thing even pass the QA? I feel like it's almost as if they're trying to throw more BS into the game, that will almost like force players to buy Shark Card.

Ruined or not, I'm thankful for their passion towards the game, but I think Shark dictates their own rules here for sure.

(Trump saying "wrong")

Damnit, I can hear his voice saying that in my head, now!

And yes, there are still a few cars (and a bunch of motorcycles) that don't spawn in freeroam, in any missions/jobs/heist, or are available in races for the purpose of simply driving them around and ignoring any objectives or trying to keep them for free.

As someone who just got into GTAO over the last month and has been playing GTA for about 15 years I personally think that unless you have a group of people to play GTAO with, you're very limited in terms of making money there (which is dumb as a majority of online revolves around purchases); heists are the easiest way to make money but making even a $1million take requires a good few hours of playing and that's split between 4 people. Even being able to do the the import/export DLC stuff requires you to register as a CEO, then have an office and a warehouse which comes in close to what about $8million and getting that solo is a grind. You could argue "oh it's not a grind if you have fun you can just steal any car etc etc" but you'd have to be pretty blind to say that as the majority of online is focused around moneymaking/purchases. Labelling those purchases such as CEO/Warehouses/etc as "extra stuff" is also pretty blind as again they make up a large amount of the online play. I feel the fun to money ratio is skewed considerably in the game and making money becomes a drag; and yes you can pull the "NAH CASUALS SHOULDNT GET WHAT US DEDICATED PLAYERS WORK FOR!" card but you're telling me a 300k take is a good reward for the hours you put into Pacific Standard? You're looking at days of doing heists (if you can even manage it with randoms) just to scrape enough to get started as CEO and make mediocre money that way so it's no wonder people end up glitching money. I wouldn't say Shark Cards ruined the game as realistically $8million in GTAO isn't that much and it certainly isn't worth £65.

I don't disagree with what you say. Just like in life "The first million dollars is the hardest"

However, it's still possible if new players don't demand all the newest stuff and take the gradual approach that the day-one players had to do:

Contact missions

Races

Freeroam activities (Not CEO/VIP/Biker stuff that has large start-up costs)

Get free ammo by doing Survivals and picking up what you can between waves

Stick to one property and it doesn't need to have a view or even a closet

Steal those gang cars and other pre-modded spawns that are all $9000-$23000 each

Buy what you need when it's on sale. Anyone remember "sales" on stuff in 2013 or 2014?

Buy what you want after reading about it on here (or suffer through YouTube vids) as what may look cool, could result in buyer's remorse.

Don't get into cash-draining, epeen-comparing firefights in freeroam

If you (not specifically you but anyone) thinks they should have three houses and an office and yacht and a stable of 50+ fully-modded personal vehicles within the first 20 hours of playing time, while only playing legitimately, then your expectations are beyond reasonable or possible.

Is it not true that the Shark Cards are one of the big reasons why a Casino DLC won't ever come through due to US laws or some sh*t like that? I agree with OP that Shark Cards seem to be a big factor behind R* delaying or ditching the Storymode DLC.

The thing is that without shark card sales the game as we know it wouldn't exist regarding Online.

Selling the DLC would mean that far, far fewer people would would pay for those and then Rockstar would not have the developmental income to keep making them. All the added cars that are expensive you would never have the option to buy because they never would have been developed and added to the game without the current business model.

This sales model is where the entire games industry is moving. All subscription based games are dead or dying. Free to play base games with buyable currency to aid advancement speed is just plain more financially effective for a company. Period. This is the way the industry is going, as a whole. The old model is dead.

i don't think shark cards are the problem. because since i play GTAO, i don't even thought once to buy some, except to support the company. but the more i play GTAO the more i think i'll soon or later go back to solo, maybe even to IV. for two reasons:

- first in GTAO you have a phenomenom you don't have in IV or in V solo, it's the 'unwanted' people. you have troll behaviors, and when not, you always have an explosion somewhere. this is the opposite of the bliss or even small ecstasis we could have in IV. online players don't create life, they create nuisance. i met people like me that just love to roam the city, and eventually get a ride with you peacefully around the city. but, soon or later there's something that will explode nearby

- second with its frequent updates commercial scheme, GTAO is crippled with bugs. somedays it works more or less good, but some other days like today it's just a nightmare. almost every race ends in a game restart because of stuck loading screens. i play GTA to feel free, no to be forced to restart the game 10x a day

the more i play GTAO the more i understand why so much people voted for the game being a regression in a poll of mine. i had so magical moment with Niko in IV, and the more i play V the more i have the feeling i'll never ever be able to experience this in V. again V is a very good game, but i just can't make Los santos be mine you know

Rockstar is a Company with employees. Employees need to get paid. Bi weekly usually. Rockstar puts out a game that only has a base charge. No dlc charge. So they don't get that continuous revenue like Bungie or the CoD company. THAT'S where shark cards come in. If I have 5 great programmers, I don't want to lose them. Other companies are making bank off dlc. R* had to come up with something to compete not just for the fans, but for employees.

That's not even mentioning the potential cost of everyone who invested in the title. Making video games isn't cheap. It probably costs more than a movie does.

Maybe you don't like shark cards. Your allowed to not like them. But at least they aren't forced on us every 6 months lol.

Despite the bugs and glitches, I'm insanely satisfied with this game.

I understand having Shark Cards since MMO's need to make money somehow if they're not going to charge directly for DLC. But these days, you get less bang for your buck with a Shark Card. Whenever I see Whale Shark Cards at my local GameStop advertizing the peanut $3.5 million, its $49.99 price towering over everything else on the virtual currency rack, I just want to laugh.
