You're an idiot.

There are a lot of reasons that may be true, but this isn't one of them.

And how many people here really make 50 bucks an hour or more? Come on..

You having enough money to spend it wastefully doesn't mean it wasn't spent wastefully - it simply means you have too much to care at any rate. You saying cash cards are good value speaks more about how easy your life is, rather than the value of the cards themselves.

That's because for someone who makes money it's not a waste at all. It's an efficient use of funds. 2 hours of pay to avoid 80 hours of something I am not fond of so I can do the things that I am fond of? That's not a waste that's just an entertainment expense. It's no different that any other entertainment expense like a broadway show or a concert, except it's a lot better value for the time than either of those.

Let's say Bill Gates is on the toilet.

"Damn, I'm out of toilet roll. On the other hand, I can see a fine silk cloth with various jewels and diamonds embedded in it. I know - I'll use that to wipe my ass, since I can afford another of those."

To me, that's wasteful; regardless of whether not it's any skin off his nose (or your nose, in this case).

I want to ask, why do you think you deserve to own everything in the game?

Because I paid $60 for it? When I buy a game, I like to get a game. Not to then feel like I should be charged extra for cut content, etc.

So you're saying we have to be rich or have a ton of free time in order to enjoy video games because the developers are so hard up for income? I do well enough with my irl income but spending $100 over the $80 I paid for the game, just to own pixels that are going to disappear when they shut the servers down is a complete waste no matter how you look at it. If I put a $100 part in my Jeep it's there forever. If I give r* $100 it's pretty well just gone.

If paying a subscription fee got rid of the time and money sinks, added a replay button for missions, added new coop missions, got rid of the dieing penalty in Lamar missions, opened CEO activities to invite only, added a friendly lobby, and got rid of all the little annoying things in the game aimed at reducing income and generally make the game less fun I would easily pay $50 a year.

It's not about instant gratification or irl income, it's about sh*tty gameplay designed to push shark cards.

i kinda agree that things became 2 to 3 times more expensive and the oldest days were better....but like the whole year before heists came out it was a lot harder to make cash...

then again, besides heists nothing makes particulary consistently more money then doing missions

i would love it if after they officialy released the....ehm....

Hmmm.....this has been talked about already several times i think.....

I have a feeling the only people bitching and complaining are those who treat GTA:O like it's one big deathmatch, never leaving free mode, spending thousands on ammo for no reason other than to stroke their e-peen, then want to whine about how broke they are.

I've been playing since launch. I've seen all the changes this game has made. I know how it used to be to make money, and how it is now. Money is not an issue in this game. And it never really was. All you have to do is stop treating Free Mode like CoD and actually play the game.

And if you don't like, no one is forcing you to play.

While you forward some good points there, I have to disagree with, this phrase in particular.

The Gameplay is designed against grinding, however that does not mean the gameplay is designed to push Shark Cards.

Overall Coop missions have mainly been moved to Free Mode, in the form of Cargo Missions not neccessarily to push Shark Card sales, but rather to completely remove loading and lobby times.

Additionally they were designed with PvP and PvE in mind, they aren't locked to Public Lobbies because of Shark Cards, but because of the fact that R* wants to encourage fun and challenging combat encounters which get mixed by PvP instead of making things feel like a grind.

In my opinion the new Cargo Missions provide well enough gameplay variety to fill multiple warehosues, simply because of the sheer amount of possibilities on how one cargo mission can turn out.

Additionally, we have Heists, the easiest way to make money, without necessarily grinding those.

Just playing through each Heist once would give you about 2 000 000 GTA$ at your disposal.

And you should not forget that most of the DLCs gameplay content can be experienced without paying a single in-game dollar.

For example you can experience Finance and Felonys gameplay, by simply offering your services as a Bodyguard, that way you can experience the content without haven purchased it yourselves, similar to how Payday 2 handles paid contracts.

Or take the new Cunning Stunts DLC as another example, you can play every single car in that DLC and every single racetrack without paying a single GTA$, you just need to quick join a stunt race.

Also you are at no competetive disadvantage if Owned vehicles are turned off.

Overall you make some good points regarding the death pentalty on Lamar Missions though or about Friendly lobbies, but those have not realy a lot to do with the discussion at hand and with Shark Cards, unless you are implieng malice.

In conclusion, what I am trying to say is that the "objects" in the DLCs aren't the only content(and that even those are available for free most of the time), but that DLCs also offer a handfull of free gameplay opportunities, without paying a single dollar.

Never said they were.

That's not the kind of attitude a company is in a position to take anyway. Fine if you're just some guy lending a game, but they're not. They're a company, selling this game to us at a high price. They ought to be trying to make us play.

How are they "selling this game to us at a high price"? There are no paid expansions, no premium bundles, and the game costs as much as any other game when it launches. So please explain this to me.

And once your able to explain that to me, if you're able to, explain to me how grinding "used to be more efficient".

So please explain this to me.

$60 is a lot of money to pay for a glorified toy (a toy I enjoy using, but nonetheless a toy). Especially when you facor in that console users like myself are already paying a subscription to play online.

The game costs as much as any other game when it launches.

Which means they're all overpriced. If all games costed $200 each, you wouldn't say they're a reasonable price just because they're no more expensive than other games, would you?

Explain to me how grinding "used to be more efficient".

Used to be that you could replay missions, get 18k+ for them too (in roughly 2/3 minutes).

Wasn't easier for the faint of heart, but the hardcore grinders were able to grind out more efficiently.

While everyone has his or her own value for money, mainly relativity determines the price here.
So of course the fact that other titles cost 60$ determines the fact that GTA V is priced quiet fairly at its current price.
For people who are not willing to pay 60$ for a video game, there are allways discounts available at hand.

Grinding used to be much more efficient. As for playing the game, see above.

I think that is the main point/missunderstanding we are getting at.

Grinding, is actively fought by Rockstar Games, however earning money overall in a usualy fun or rather engaging way became a lot easier.

Additionally more options for people with legitimite skill have been added to earn money, such as the new Premium Race offering a new risk-reward type.

Lastly we have the point of price/return with microtransactions.

That is a valid point of course, that Shark Cards have little in return for your money, however the main argument against that is the very fact that a small paying portion of the playerbase, essentially pays the content for the other not-paying portion and the fact that the content is all unlockable in-game and accesable in-game without paying real currency.

So do you go to every video game forum and complain about the price of the game? And if $60 is to expensive maybe you shouldn't be playing video games and should instead focus on getting your life together.

As for your other comment, Mixed up with Coke used to pay 18K and my crew could finish it in 47 seconds. Rooftop Rumble used to pay 25K and could be completed in less time than that. And those days were horrible. Only thing people wanted to do is grind those two missions over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over.....

Now all missions pay out roughly the same and there is a plethora of activities that pay out good money. Making it to where you don't have to grind the same mission over and over and over and over and over and over and over.....

I appreciate your level headed response but r*'s statement on making CEO activities more challenging seemed like a way to cover their asses on a bad choice but that's just my opinion. As for fun encounters, one sticky bomb or jet strafing run and you lose. Not too fun. If they had locked them to public lobbies with no explosives I might agree as chases like that can be fun.

I actually do still enjoy playing heists but the fail to succeed ratio is ridiculous when not with friends so the income from them varies quite a bit. I do enjoy their gameplay and feel well rewarded after completing one though, That's why I don't mention them when I do mention Lamar's missions.

With the dlc content. I don't mind not being able to buy everything, hell I've got 24mil in the bank and I'm still debating on buying the offroad van from FAFF update. It's when my gameplay is noticeably interrupted by a cooldown timer or gameplay mechanic (cargobob not lifting CEO vehicles with crates in them) that I get irritated. I guess I can't prove that either of those have to do with Shark cards either but the correlation is strong.

I said it earlier in this thread. It just seems like with gta v r* went from "let's make a fun game," to "let's milk our player base for as much money as we can." As a long time R* fan it's disappointing to see the change.

I guarantee for every one person like you there are 10 like me. I have never purchased Shark Cards and I have everything I want (for the most part) in the game. Shark Cards are not a mandatory item.

No they are not, but they definitely have ruined the game, not because YOU HAVE to buy one, but because R* now sells a SC for almost twice as much that what we paid for the whole game.

You can now buy $8M in game for $99.99, and even that now can't buy everything that comes in the last DLCs, and we're talking about vehicles, clothes, etc, no game changing stuff, but we used to be able to buy SP DLCs with new stories, new characters, plus clothes and vehicles for $20.

Think about it, how much effort and money does a new "free" DLC costs to make?, how much did TBoGT or TLaD cost?. That's why we won't see any SP DLC.

We are certainly never going to see a new SP DLC, simply because it costs a lot of money and the benefits are no way near what D* makes with shark cards, i can even see a future with no SP story what so ever.

I'm not against Shark Cards, i'm against what they represent, poor content, high prices.

In a way I hope for that.

Imagine if they just continue to add to Online. Adding more and more cities. And with each expansion include a lengthy solo/co-op campaign that involves our GTA:Online characters. And it wouldn't be hard to make the jump in story. Our Online reputations have garnered enough attention from the underworld that we now have business opportunities in other cities.

Why would I want this? Because I have more of an attachment to my Online character than I ever will to any of their story characters and I don't want to see him die.

I don't understand either side of the argument given the current state of the game.

It's easy to make money without grinding and without buying shark cards.

The Pac Standard glitch has broken the game's economy. In 'about' an hour I make $1.5 million, and I hardly touch the controller doing so.

This is a multiplayer online game. If you don't have at least three friends who play regularly with you and can glitch with you - then that is the reason you don't have money. It has nothing to do with Rockstar. You're playing the game wrong. Talk on the mic to strangers. Join a large, active crew. Join random heist lobbies and get on the mic and talk to people.

You cannot play GTA Online by yourself and expect to make large sums of money.

So do you go to every video game forum and complain about the price of the game? And if $60 is to expensive maybe you shouldn't be playing video games and should instead focus on getting your life together.

$60 is a lot for as game, especially when you consider the fact that they are actively trying to coerce people into paying even more via shark cards. You do not have to like that opinion, but you do need to respect it.

Now all missions pay out roughly the same

i.e. Barely anything, which was my point.

You could make money faster in the old days, yet things costed less in general.

How can you say you make money faster in the old days? I never made as much back then as I did now. We've got Pac Standard down to a 15 minute precision run. $750k to a host, $250k to a helper. In 15 minutes!

It's not shark cards that ruined the Rockstar economy. It's the fact that I, personally, have glitched more than $200 million from Pac Standard ... and that's the least of any person I play with.

I'm not talking about glitches. That's an unintentional method of gaining money, so I'm not going to thank Rocvkstar for it.

I'm a lone wolf anyway.

You don't even need to glitch to make money. I don't, and I have just about everything that I want. Only thing I'm missing is the yacht and I'm not that concerned about it.

It's not an opinion if you are trying to present it as fact. Therefore, I have no need to respect it.

And nobody is "coercing" anybody to buy anything. Just because you seem to have an inability to make money does not mean everybody is forced to by Shark Cards.

And $60 is not expensive. $60 will buy me a nice lunch/dinner (which I'll sh*t out later), or pay my phone bill (which I never use), or buy a night at the movies for me and my girl. Nowhere else can I spend $60 and get 3 years of entertainment out of it.

I'm getting this feeling that you don't pay any real life bills and therefore have no true notion of what is expensive and what is not in life.
