Rigged Chara spawns with feet little below ground [HELP]

I rigged a Resident Evil Tyrant to GTA Vice City, but, its feet are a bit below ground. I used Tommy's bones.

 

Is there anyway how to fix this? Thanks

It is a common problem.

The 3D mesh is lower than that of Tommy.

Or repeat the rig, lifting the 3D mesh (D'Oh!...),

or shorten the feet (D'Oh!...),

or raise the Root (for move all parts), resetting to 0 x,y,z of its matrix.

I think I tried lifting the mesh, but the Tyrant was floating a bit above ground.

Wouldn't shortening the foot make the mesh silly? lol

I want to try the last advice you gave me. But, I'm not sure how to do this. But, I'm going to try it out and then report back my results. Thanks!

 

Edit 1: Do I raise the Root during positioning Tyrant & Donor process, or after rigging?

 

Edit 2: ok, I raised a bit the root after rigging to test and these are the results:

 

 

 

I think if I raise it a little bit more it will improved!

 

Edit 3: I believe it's now fixed!

Edit 1: "Feet Below Ground?" this is how I fixed it guided by Automan's advice:

 

01. After Rig (Before Export)

02. Click "Select by Name" icon

 

03. CLick "Root"

 

 

04. click "Ok"

 

 

05. Right-Click on Root

 

 

 

06. "Isolate Selection"

 

 

07. Right-Click on the Root (Belly Button) & select "Move"
