Stunt Races and AFK?

Been doing the stunt races for the past couple days and noticed that every race has a group of racers just sitting at the start/finish. No they're not waiting for revenge on lap cars, they just never moved to begin with. So, whats the deal? Is there some sort of glitch I'm missing out on? Sorry if this has been discussed.

Today, I tried to join a stunt race and I got stuck in the clouds for multiple minutes until I lost my patience and closed the application.

 

I guess this could be happening to some other players as well.

 

They're in the race on your screen, but on theirs, they're in the clouds. That's the best theory I can come up with.

The beginning of the race.. i was waiting for the countdown.... suddenly i see my opponents driving away.... couple of seconds later i was able to start the race....

Probably just people who got impatient with R* bad match making and went to do something else, not realizing that they left their game on, I've done this on accident a few times.

noticed EXACTLY the same thing ! I thought the AFK players are just too stupid for joining and standing there at the Finish line , but apparantly it s the servers´ issue !

with destroy last place turned on for laps, its hardly an issue for me.

so here is the explanation:

 

sometimes when u feel like you are in a good racing session but u need to take a brake, u just miss out one race. the reason they don't move their car the whole race is to show everybody that they are not last because they suck, but because they are not here. it would look bad if you come back mid race and start the race, people could laugh at you, its a hard world.

That could have been the creator glitch that allows you to teleport around the map.

Eh, I don't really mind if I have to come back mid race, that is rarely a problem, what I meant when a said that I have done this before is that I have gotten stuck in the cloud for a minute, and while waiting for the game to load, I would get up to get a drink or something, check the computer, ect. and I would simply forget that the game was on, it happens.

I did a few races with a group of randoms and one of them didn't budge from the start line but bet 10K on himself to win every time. Baffling.

I keep doing one or two races and then see me and everyone else get kicked. The servers are working like sh*t right now.

afk players and 2 races merging into 1 race, resulting in 32 players joining a race ment for 16 players its just one of many things that i encounter everyday with this update

I have noticed this issue on a few occasions. (PC)

 

Also, getting stuck in the job rating screen at the end and having to leave the lobby, we can all still type in chat but it does not proceed to the next job vote screen.

I did one stunt race just now, just to see what they are about. Got pitted off the course and down to the ground in the first second. Was dead last along with a couple of other losers who got knocked out. Predictable. F*ck this sh*t.

I think I'm going to make a hobby of walking into stunt racing circles and then going AFK, so I'm not "Ready to Play" and everybody has to wait.

Came back, I was three minutes into a race at the starting line.

 

I just sat there. No point in me even trying. I'll wait.

Maybe it's the same people/retards that idle on missions as well, thinking they'll get some cash. I always report afk's on missions, those d*mn parasites relying on everyone else doing the job and being forced wasting money on ammo..

thats the weird thing, players that afk dont earn nothing because they get a DNF

I noticed some people just parking their car by the side of the circuit when they're too far behind and some who misses the first seconds of the start tends to do the same thing.

 

Must mention that the 3,2,1,GO! is extremely bugged as well. Sometimes I don't even see the 3,2,1, sometimes it counts down very quick and sometimes 2,1,GO!

The net code/matchmaking is far from ideal....

I've noticed the same thing. I can actually manipulate the 3-2-1- countdown by blipping my throttle. It might be just on my screen though, haven't looked too far into it.
