Looks best with painted stock rims. Other wheels simply look to tiny.

Broughy say so

He said they are pretty much the same.

And the trophy truck has a higher top speed.

If you are actually going to race off road, go for the Trophy Truck. It handles much better off road imo.

I appreciate Broughy, but I think the tests are invalid since his track does not test the stability of these vehicles. Sure if you race on relatively flat tracks I guess the Raid will edge it out.

that is his flaw of his tests....he never is gonna just drive something over humps and then tell someone whats the best ever untill he can be somehow consistent with something :p

personaly, i'd love to buy one of those things, but my new bike pretty much demolishes then and i do not have the space for buying vehicles that are just fun(still doubting if i should sell even my brawler or rhapsody since they became obsolete)

Broughy doesn't know anything it would be great if people would stop blowing him constantly...

They're both similar. Main difference I've noticed is really just looks. I'm sticking with the Raid though.

After some testing, I think the Desert Raid can handle bumps and barriers better than the Trophy Truck.

Desert Raid is ugly in my opinion but preforms slightly better than the tropy truck.

Ditch your Brawler and Rhapsody. The Trophy Truck is pretty much the coolest thing in the game since CG came out. It is fast, handles beautifully, grips like mad, and drives off road like a truck should. It's the first vehicle I pull out when I get on every day. There is nothing I can't do with this truck.

i both like them to much to cruise with, not selling sh*t...especialy not with a confirmation of the new compact being the fastest compact there ever will be or a true confirmation we will not get more properties

I've seen an increase in these types of comments so please understand it's not directed specifically towards you, Mach.

The thing people need to understand/keep in mind is that Broughy is a racer at its core. All tests are valid due to being tested on the same race track which sets a benchmark. That benchmark tests the most "useful" (subjective) aspects of a vehicle; acceleration, cornering and braking. This gives people a general idea of how the vehicle reacts in day-to-day activity in Los Santos as well as on a race track. He does say from time to time that some cars have higher top speed or other general tips which is great - the issue is not that he doesn't take stability or a specific vehicle usage into consideration, he actually does sometimes - it's people thinking that Broughy's word is wrong or unjustified. I fully support Broughy because he's dedicated in his motor sport class/genre. I would actually dislike if Broughy tested the Raid and Trophy Truck off road because it's not his area of expertise.

Some things you have to test out yourself. In all honesty, as "brainwash" as it may sound, I think everyone should watch Broughy's videos before buying a vehicle. It has saved me so much money as he shows off the look of the car, the sound and the acceleration/cornering/braking factors very well as well as body roll or how a car handles itself. People should look at his videos for general info about the vehicles and, if possible, use his videos as proof but at the end of the day it comes down to personal preference and extensive personal testing. We all play a different way and results may vary depending on skill and habits, etc. Also worth noting that having rich friends who own the cars before you do is the best way to test this out.

I tested the Raid but I'm so glad I bought the Trophy Truck. It's an amazing vehicle and R* have really nailed it. Honestly, though, if you're buying either the Raid or Trophy Truck you're probably gonna be spending a lot of time in the Sandy Shores desert area so top speed isn't really a factor you should be looking at.

I agree with this. However, most people don't take issue with Broughy or his testing. They take issue with the fact that a lot of people act like he just came down Mt. Sinai with a stone tablet in each hand every time he posts a video...

Oh I agree very much, I should have worded it differently, I meant to say his tests arent a valid representation of what these two vehicles can do off road. Trust me I do very much agree with everything you just said. His tests are still valid, just not in this particular situation.

I think you misunderstood Mach1bud's comments regarding Broughy's tests. I think he only meant that the tests weren't valid for these two vehicles because the test was only on a street circuit which doesn't include any off-roading. Perhaps "relevant" would have been a better word than "valid", but anything, it's my interpretation that this is what he meant. And he is correct. Testing an off-road vehicle on a street circuit isn't really a good test of its abilities if most of the racing is going to be done off road. That's where Mach1bud's "stability" comment comes into play. Stability off road is very different from stability on the road. One vehicle may be quicker on a street circuit, but if the other one can handle being off road better, it's probably going to win.

Mach1bud can correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think he was saying that Broughy's tests are invalid in general. Again, I think he only meant for that these off-road trucks, the street circuit results aren't relevant.

@Ninja: I definitely agree that people will listen to Youtubers (Broughy is one, just not a typical Youtuber) and follow them blindly. The issue I wanted to discuss/explore was people who do say that Broughy's tests shouldn't be taken into consideration despite them being a great benchmark for knowing what a car can do in a typical environment (street). Everyone should take into consideration what Broughy is saying before buying a car but even his biggest fans shouldn't quote him (or anyone else) to prove an argument. It should come down to personal testing/taste. That's what I think.

@Mach: Now we just need to find a Broughy-clone that tests offroad vehicles. Granted, Broughy does test the "sh*ttier" vehicles like the Taco truck and the lawn mower so he's capable of taking a shot at offroading as he's not shy to try out different stuff than what he's used to. He'd need proper climbs and trails, though. I feel a mix with Chiliad and Sandy Shores dunes would be a great benchmark track as Chiliad is the most popular offroad spot and Sandy Shores dune are a whole different offroad area than what the rest of the map offers.

Anyway, just my two cents. No offense to different opinions and all. :p

*edit*
Okay, right, I may of taken it the wrong way. Still, just putting out there. Although I did say it comes down to personal testing/taste which is the best testing one can do. OP did do a straight drag race which also doesn't reflect which truck is "best", though he did say which is fastest (both are comparably close). This update has been troubling for me with vehicles being the same (Raid=Trophy Truck, Gargoyle=Cliffhanger).
