Don't know if Rock star ever nerfed cars on GTA Online, if no they should start with the RE-7B, then the etr1 and the F1 GTR(don't remember the GTA name) and finish with the X80, after all there is a first thing for everything. Those 4 cars really made the supers class unbalanced.

False. If you're a bad player you can't have a good win ratio in races, regardless of how lucky you are. If you're good you will win the majority of it

You're right. But I mean having the best/fastest car is useless when catch up is on. You can drive a Zentorno instead of a RE-7B, that makes no difference.

Lets be honest though. Buying something, even in a game, just because it's really expensive, would make you a fool. Status symbols based around money (pixel money as well) are only cared about by the stupid and acknowledged (positively) by the even more stupid.

 

One of the main examples of this kind of stuff is when you see one guy wearing a white polo from Tesco (roughly £10) and another wearing one of the same color, but it's Lacoste (ranging from £40 to £70). They meet each other and the guy wearing the Lacoste polo brags to the other about how his shirt cost (at least) 4 times as much, all because of one tiny logo on the left tit. Now whether or not the material of the Lacoste polo is better (it likely is), it doesn't mean the Tesco one won't last as long if the guy actually takes care of it. If he does take care of it he has pretty much the same shirt as the other guy just without the tiny logo. That doesn't sound like something worth bragging about to me.

 

I'm not saying this applies to you or anything. It's just that you mentioned it and it happens to be one of the things that gets on my tits a lot. Everytime I go out and see people wearing fancy rebadged versions of cheaper clothing, standing next to people wearing the cheaper, more functional stuff, I can just tell that the guy wearing the designer gear feels that bit more superior.

well the game pretty much revolves around making money, so yeah some people would/do care if you are driving the most expensive car and stuff like that...

 

i have been talking with my bro about the game in the last few days and as day 1 players, as we enjoyed the billionaires era and all the craziness that came with it, we came to the conclusion that modders took away the meaning of wealth in the game, just like they took away the meaning of ranks.

 

in the first few days of the game at 1million dollars, the adder was the ultimate wealth symbol, you knew that player was rich if he had an adder and even more if he lived at eclipse tower, but then modders started spreading wealth and everyone and their grandma had an adder and lived at eclipse, simply devalued.

 

same for ranks, in other games you kinda get surprised when you see a high level player because you know that guy has played alot to reach that level, gtao could have been the same, but once again modders devalued the meaning of the ranks.

 

now when you see a high level instead of being surprised, you go like "meh modded account" and it sucks getting reported and kicked because of people think you are using a modded account.

It's just that a lot of players who play this game think that having the most expensive gear automatically makes them superior. I've lost count of how many players I've met who were using Advanced Rifles and couldn't shoot for sh*t, while those who used cheaper guns like the Assault Rifle (AK-47) were normally better shots. Same goes for cars, in sports races I've seen so many Elegys and Massacros driven like boats around the track while those in (normally 'lesser' cars) the Sultan or 9F actually make good lap times. From what I've seen it's normally the players who use nothing but the most expensive things that don't realise that it's more about the skill of the player and not the stats of the car or gun.

 

Oh aye. I was a day one player as well and for that short period of time before the billionaire days there was actually a way to tell whether or not a player had actually earned stuff like the Entity, Adder or a floor in Eclipse Towers. As soon as modded money was available the economy in online, as if it ever really had one to begin with, was f*cked.

 

It bugs me so much that ranks are basically meaningless in this game now. While getting past rank 120 was pointless from the very beginning, it was never bad to be a higher level anyway, at least until modded accounts were introduced. Before I took a long break from this game I was usually one of the higher ranked players in any lobby I'd ever get into and before modders became more and more common I'd just go about each session as normal, from time to time I'd actually be avoided by other players, which was nice, since all I usually want in a public lobby is peace to myself anyway.

 

However as soon as modded accounts became much more common I found myself getting kicked from sessions more and more, keep in mind that at this time I was only around rank 200-220 so in comparison to some I was actually still a low level. However since random players had trouble remembering how long the game had been out for and what was usually the level of the common modded account (1000 or something, right?) I suffered the same as other legit players who had higher than average levels.
