Why do police know where you are?

Why do the police know EXACTLY where you are hiding and slowly drive towards you and surround you when you're hiding? It just defeats the whole purpose of hiding if they do stupid sh*t like drive off a bridge you're hiding under to find you.

Because they are a computer AI in a virtual world and therefore will always know where you are no matter what. It's just that Rockstar is bad at simple mechanics that give the illusion that they don't know where you are.

Because R* royally screwed up in this game with the police system. Made it ridiculously over tuned.

Police's AI was discussed many times before.

Like any other star situation, you can evade it if done properly.

I find V's "Star AI's structure" kinda strange.

Unless you don't use your mobile (and so on) for internet & sh*t (like I kinda don't), it's a bit like irl, ya know?... :whuh:

Because it's a game and if you could just hide it wouldn't be a game.

If you pay attention, when you're hiding, it even has ways to escape - it's pretty well put together, you will get used to it and the different ways you can play it soon enough.

There's a difference between hiding in a spot where a cop could accidentally find you due to your hiding spot and having a cop run down a very specific pathway way across town that in reality they'd never think to look in and "conveniently" find you hiding in a corner that's behind bushes that's behind a dumpster that's behind a wall of debris.

Oh and they don't search, they stop as close to you as possible, get out of their car, and run directly to you. That's not real searching.

V's police system was not much of an improvement over IV's as we'd hoped it would be, but to fair, I was able to evade the cops in V when they were searching for me. I found that you just had to hide in a very secluded place without being seen by the cops first. It worked for me.

Not for everyone though :/ Not when your being chased by the f*cking army and 2 helicopters. Jeez V's Cops are agressive as hell compared to past gta's. What's the right word agressive or realistic?

Because the programming behind that has still not been properly coded.

Is it just me or do police b-line onto you. for example, the cops lose sight of you for a moment. you go into the alley with a left and right way. you go to the right and hide. Somehow the cops know you went the right way and find you.

Aggressive. Real cops set up a perimeter to find suspects, they don't spontaneously "know" that the suspect eighteen blocks away from the crime scene in a bush "just because".

They desperately wanted the police to be challenging without putting much thought into how it can be challenging and not baffling at the same time. Remember when the current-gen version was announced? They claimed that the AI had received improvements, you'd think that they'd have made them smarter but all they did was make them more cyborg-like.

I understand they'd find you in obvious hiding spots. But when you drive a good mile from where you were last seen and hide under a bridge to see them start driving in 360s and driving directly off the side to find you it just looks silly and stupid, something you'd expect from a 3D universe cop.

The Cops are just ridiculous i hate it so much... Killing a mountain climber in the middle of no wear and you get a wanted level..

It's pretty ridiculous, even if you left the crime scene well before the police arrived, they know exactly in which direction you went. It's something I hope R* changes for GTA VI

Mac Tonight

Because companies don't know how to respond to consumer criticism.

GTA IV's police were dumb and useless, so the fans complained. Rockstar "fixed" this by turning every officer in the local law enforcement into the T-1000.

GTA IV's driving was slow and clunky. Rockstar "fixed" this by making everything from a super car to an 18-wheeler turn on a dime.

Basically, the only way they can fix something is by taking one extreme end of something and turning it into the other.

I have a clip on my ps4 where I am being chased but my stars are flashing so I am about to lose them. There is a cop car (who has never seen me) on the other side of a city block. So I drive east as he is about to turn west. He stops, turns and heads east. So I turn west to evade him and he stops, turns around and starts heading right towards me.

It was so stupid that I was actually laughing. You know how when you say "this game is f*cking cheating me"? We this game really does go out of its way to cheat you.

Cars switching lanes twice in thirty feet. You judge an intersection and plot a way through only for the game to have one car speed up to match your speed exactly, creating a collision course.

Rockstar decided that unfairness was someone the same as difficulty and psychic cops was somehow fun.

idk if i want the police to be more like real life.

black characters would get killed even at zero stars and then they would just sprinkle some crack lol

Because the ENTIRE police system is broken & sh*t, the worst part of a really good game.

Something I just thought about... the three protagonists and the Online character have a smartphone - their location can get tracked by the police just by the phone. And that technology does of course exist in real life.

After all, the game is set in 2013. Still, I think the police in 2 and most of the 3D games are more difficult, but like any GTA game, no police system is too difficult with the right strategy.

The police system in V is GREAT!!! There is a tricks and moves for escaping ;) like in the reality.

There is a only one annoying thing, when you are in the desert or deep in the forest and decide to test your weapons, shoot animals, blow the vehicle... etc. and then wanted level, sh*t!

Fact in most of the GTA's: killing 3 NPCs, no matter how. Gives you a wanted kevel

Also GTA V's NPC AI and of course the Police AI's are annoying, boring, and unrealistic. GTA V's ai was a downgrade to GTA IC, not to mention the physics and such

GTA V's police is annoying ass f*ck XD

Tip from GTA4 carried over to GTA5:

Police suck at driving on grass or hills. Head north out of the main city and take to the hills. Cops may still spawn around you if you go too high up but keep a road on the mini map and watch the cops spawn on it. So long as you don't have a chopper after you this works. If you have a chopper too go for the train/street car tunnels. You go a ways into a tunnel and just park. Do not go to a station because cops have fully automatic rifles liken the airport.

i see it as social media. to me that's what i have observed in my opinion. whenever you blow up something, somewhere behind you someone is taking pictures and calling the cops so by the time they arrive they actually know where you were before you ran off. i may be wrong but if someone can clear this up for me. tried using silenced weapons and killing the person taking a picture and hiding but eventually cops just pass by me.
