MrEWhite
I just picked up a GTX 1070 and overclocked it up to 2050 MHz, so I was wondering if anyone had a GTX 1070 or 1080, what are the settings you use in 1080p?

TheHumanIsland
You should be able to max out pretty much everything that matters @ 1080p. I got a 960 and I do. 60fps vsync. Don't play this game without vsync, regardless of the method you choose to enable it.

TheHumanIsland
Pretty much everything except MSAA and Reflection MSAA, and the only Advanced I use is high quality streaming. I use ultra grass. It CAN dip to 50 and a rare 45 in areas with that according to shadowplay counter, but I don't notice it because it still stays pretty smooth, no judder or anything. Very High grass is 60fps solid, tho. It just takes so long to load I haven't switched it yet since it requires a reload

Highest. any except the GPU specific ones. soft, softer, sharp, softest etc. Just not the Nv or AMD ones, those (well ,the nv since I have nv card) slowed it down back in the day and I haven't tried them again since. the NV ones were playable but I noticed 10fps drops sometimes. I use long shadows, too, so that's one more setting in advanced I use aside from flight streaming. But the others are off. 4590 i5 and fast ddr3 ram are helping, I'm sure. that kind of lends to the topic; the 970 will max this game, but you need to have a complementary CPU and RAM to be sure. If the card is bottlenecked by other components, it won't perform as good as it can. vid I found with my specs and his looks basically, looks like I should try NV shadows again. He is only running 1680x1050, but he's also using higher settings. He gets some slowdown, so I will probably get slowdown if I go that high, too, but we'll see, vid is on pretty old patch level: 960+4590i5 are beast setup. He's even using HR shadows in advanced. Wonkyrock
I have the following build: i7 6700k (not overclocked) 16 GB DDR4 RAM GTX 1070 FE (Not overclocked) 700w Power Supply My settings are the following Everything on Very High and Ultra except for Grass (High is good enough) MSAA is at 4x FXAA is on Reflections MSAA (highest it can go) Advanced, Long Shadows On High Quality Shadows Off Extended Distance Scaling = 3/4 set Extended Shadows = All the way I run at 1440p at 60 FPS at all times, only reason it is at 60 fps and not more is because my monitor is only 60 hz. It is awesome. One thing I have to note is for the 1070 FE, Make sure to put the Power Peformance through the control panel at High Performance, NOT balanced. This made a big difference. When I first would load the game up, it would be at 35 FPS until the video card needed more power, then it jumped to 60 fps, then it would drop back down if it didnt. Hope this helps. Also, at 1080p you should be able to put grass higher. Edited July 15, 2016 by Wonkyrock NightmanCometh96
Crystal3lf
MSAA is at 4x FXAA is on Why are you using FXAA? It's the worst form of AA possible, crank the MSAA higher or get some frame-scaling going.

TheHumanIsland
I don't need to do either. Your system administration is =/= to mine. You can see a video right up there with even higher settings than I use. Key words were "everything THAT MATTERS" I am playing 60fps steady without issue, with everything on very high and ultra that matters... Just not MSAA basically... I drop to 50 some places for ultra grass, but get 60fps solid on very high grass, too. Whatever issue you are having, you are having it, not me. My 960 is quality manufacturer, gigabyte. And if you didn't MSAA and just use FXAA you'd max it just fine, though I have seen a lot of people with issues with that low-67xx CPU you have, but can't speak to how they admin their system, either. I just tried to capture a clip for you with ultra grass and 60fps with dips to 50 on the flower mountains, but apparently ShadowPlay doesn't work with gta v? So, no dice on that. You'll just have to take my word for it, or not, I could give a f*ck tbh. Edited July 15, 2016 by TheHumanIsland

Yeah I think is full of it. I have an EVGA 970 SC and the game cannot get solid 60fps with all settings maxed at 1920x1080p at stock speeds. I have FXAA on MXAA x2 and Nvidia TXAA off and the second highest reflection MSAA and grass settings, everything else is maxed at 1080 and even then FPS isn't always a solid 60 due to stutter issues caused by GTAV's poor memory management. cp1dell
I got the same card, EVGA 970 SC. Plus an i5-4690 and 16GB of RAM. 1920x1080 MSAAx2 with MFAA Scaling bars maxed. Texture Quality: Very High Shader Quality: Very High Shadow Quality: Very High Reflection Quality: Very High Reflection MSAA: Off Water Quality: Very High Particles Quality: Very High Grass Quality: High Soft Shadows: Softer PostFX: Very High Anisotropic Filtering done through Nvidia Control Panel Ambient Occlusion: High Tesselation: Very High Long Shadows: Off High Resolution Shadows: Off High Detail Streaming While Flying: On No extended distance scaling or shadows. 70FPS most of the time with a slight dip to maybe 57 rarely. Using VisualV, but no ENB or ReShade. Would love to use MXAO but in general it's known to knock down about 10FPS, and I don't want that minimum of 57FPS to turn into 47FPS. If anyone has a similar setup along with VisualV ENB+ReShade I'd love to see what your settings are, what I could knock down to same some performance for MXAO. Thanks your helping Your problem is R*'s badly optimized game, sh*t servers, ludicrous idea to make the model P2P, whilst not using regional servers or some sort of geographical discrimination, and terrible, buggy coding. Buy 2 Megalodon Shark cards that should fix it all.
