Allow us to purchase additional garages at luxury apts

Let us use the elevator between them all.

It seems kind of silly that I have 3 apts in the same building just so I can have 3 co-located garages....and still have to walk outside and back inside to go from one to the other.

You can use the same programming framework that allows us to store outfit slots at closets. Except rather than pull up clothes files, when you access the elevator it pulls up the a menu listing the garage slots which we can enter directly or go to our single apartment.

This plus a Content Creator cleanup/revamp would be the two "changes" I would like to see most.

I don't agree with you on a lot of things, but we do need to either lift the property limit completely, or come up with a new solution to car storage.

I dont do nearly as much racing as I used to on PS3...mainly because it is very unlikely to get more than 4 or 5 players to join a race anymore, which makes racing way less fun.

Add to that the fact that 90% of players in this game now are babies who quit anything the second they realize they can't insta-win, and racing just sucks now. But I still enjoy collecting my favorite cars from the game and there are some very vanilla cars that have great customization options that make them cool to keep.

I have 10 garages total and maybe only 8 slots left open between my 2 characters. The only reason I have left them open is because I am holding them for MUST-BUYs....things like Insurgents, Kurumas, T20/Osiris, etc that you simply are at a disadvantage in certain circumstances without. Already sold off so many cars I really loved using time and again. I like racing with variety and beating people with cars that aren't considered "top of class" too.

It would be great to just unlimit the number of garage slots we could purchase for our luxury apartment, or at least raise it to something high enough to keep 99% of players happy for a long time, like 50 garages.

You know what, OP, I've given up trying to understanding Rockstar's logic on car storage any more.

The only vehicle I'm buying is the Western Gargoyle for my bike garage on my second character. That's it.

They obviously want us to buy/sell buy/sell cars repeatedly at a 40% loss, but most long-term players are sick to death with that - even players with massive amounts of cash are sick to death with selling cars they've loving upgraded over time just to make room for new varieties.

Rockstar marketing talks to us like we're kids who picked up GTA online a month ago, and it's all so fresh and clean. It's not fresh at all - it's the same old city with the same old garages and the only variety you really give us, Rockstar, is forcing us to trade in old for new. Some of us are really bored with this sh*t.

I would even pay real life cash for new garage slots - $10-$20 for example - rather than play this trade-in bollocks game of cars I've spent hundreds of hours upgrading, nurturing and thinking about.

Nurturing... you definitely have a serious issue there my friend...

Its really not all that nefarious or malicious.

The reality is that it is complicated to inject new programming code into much much older code. It is exponentially harder when the person who wrote the original code is not the person who is trying to alter/fix it.

This is why you have Benny's and they didn't simply add all the new types of vehicle upgrades into the existing LSC. Because it is WAY easier for them to just create a new LSC, call it Benny's, and make it do all the new stuff they want, rather than go back and figure out how to rewrite the programming for the original LSC to add it all in.

Any programmer will tell you it is easier to rewrite code from scratch rather than try to fix someone else's code.

This is why the content creator just seems to get more and more f*cked up as more stuff gets added to it and changes are made. It needs a total redo. I hope what we get in 3 weeks is just that.

Likely the garage system is the same way. In order to allow us to do what makes sense, just buy extra garage space for the same property and have an interface to select the desired space we wish to access while indoors without requiring changing properties, a completely new garage/property code block has to be re-written.

That is most likely what is going on here, but if you dont understand software programming and the nature of code writing, then you can only assume that they are doing it because they hate you.

Roronoa Zoro

You seem confused... do you think R* is reading this thread? They have an email specifically for that, use it if you want to type directly to them.

Im not sure why you feel so entitled. We started out without even having a 10 car garage, now we can have 5. They have continuously provided more room, but it is never enough. If they provide another, you will just fill it and be back to your entitled whining.

They provide years of free and fresh content updates, and all this forum does is blast them for it like they are owed something. Entitlement is a disease.

I've said this a few times already, as a car fanatic I would not mind a Jay Leno style 150 - 200 car warehouse garage for my car collection, am I I ever going to get it, hell f-ing no.

Why? Because it not a good enough money sink, if you could store every car that's in the game right now, and future ones to come, you'd pay for that storage space, buy those cars, upgrade them, customize them, and you'd be done.

But the way it is now, you buy a car, upgrade it, customize it, and eventually sell it to make space for those newer cars which you want to test out, or are just plain better, and then after a while you don't like them anymore, or you want your old baby back, because it was your favorite, or your crew is going to do an event with a particular kind of car, so you have to buy that, so you're selling an other car to make room, and buying a new one, and upgrading and customizing it again, which all costs $$$$.

Buying a single huge, or multiple large (10 car) garages is not going to offset the huge money sink that is buying, customizing, selling, and re-buying and re-customizing cars that are worth close to, to well over a million dollars, it's a way to take out a lot of the virtual money in the game, so that you either keep playing to earn more, or to buy more Shark Cards.

I bet that the devs at R* probably would prefer if the garage spaces would be back at 20 or so, so it would happen even more often.

Main word is garage. Not a small box for toys.

I mean capacity must be 20+ cars. I am so pissed off by this stupid traveling between garages.

LMAO

Uhhhh...you assume WAY too much.

I am fine with the way it is, but I see no reason for the arbitrary limit imposed by sloppy programming left over from the games original design, and in all honesty a great many players will be appreciative of the change. It harms you....how again?

I'm just creating a discussion thread for something I would like to see added/changed within the game, but rather than say "unlock another slot" I am saying it makes more sens if it were changed how it works altogether. The current system promotes property hoarding in order to get garage space. My recommendation does the opposite.

You seem to think this is whining, you are super eager to put someone down for whining but you picked the wrong dance partner child, so move along and take your awkward trolling elsewhere.

"Entitlement" LMFAO......not sure how far up your ass you had to reach to come to THAT conclusion

rs_450x258-130830160511-leaving_zpsxkanr

Oh and BTW....it is a known fact that R* reads these forums at least on occasion. You seem "a bit confused" about that.

Exactly. There is no reason for this limit on property anymore. If you don't want more garage space fine. But you are a minority here. Get over it

Yea I'm tired of the musical chairs with Cara and garages. I have plenty money to bur , but still, it's repetitive and annoying. R* could stop with the cars now, sh*t nobody has room to keep all the 1 they want/luv unless you're giving up another luv'd car
