I have done this. It's my favorite thing to do with randoms, I have started a contact mission from the top of Chiliad, from 5000 feet in the air, underwater (like by the pier or somewhere close to shore, I'm not that evil)

Though I would like to fly the Hunter and some of the other aerocraft, my interest in this game continues to decline more and more as time progresses. Some call it evolution, but I call it a disappointment. Ugh, I'm ready to just start over from scratch within a new setting. Don't get me wrong, I do think it has been worth it to play for so long and I've enjoyed it very much at times, but I honestly do not know what can be added or changed that will help recapture my interest and passion for the game. That ship has sailed, I suppose, and those of us who haven't much interest in war themes are just sort of left to conform or move on.

I feel you - and it's just a mix of my stubborn refusal to back down from a fight, mixed with the fact that I've invested far too much time and care into my characters and stuff to throw it all away now, that keep me from walking away and just giving up hope on GTAO.

 

I'm so sick of character customisation being treated like an afterthought, PvP as the only way to play, player creativity and expression like a non-issue, and the assumption that players don't care about verisimilitude or freedom - according to R*, we're apparently just magpies who covet shiny, expensive things, and like to blow each other's sh*t up.

 

In other words, I resent R* effectively telling me I'm playing GTAO 'wrong' (by neglecting everything aside from the same handful of narrow approaches to new content) - particularly when my way of playing is largely informed by how I used to enjoy single-player GTA ever since III. When wanting GTAO to play like GTA (and not PUBG or whatever) is apparently against the design goals of R*, then ...I don't even know anymore...
