Not to derail the thread (I'll post the full method I used in one of the 'crew emblem bug' threads in a bit), but I had a milder version of this bug* for a while, and finally found a method that looks like it works permanently. Word of warning: it does involve ...selling every affected car in a property (or perhaps even ALL cars in that garage, for safety's sake), and trading in that property. RIP a lot of personal vehicles, possibly.

 

*I know some people have it so bad that any new personal vehicle automatically gets an emblem slapped on it - I just had the version where putting an emblem on a car means it always comes back every time you remove it and change sessions.
