Next DLC Speculation Thread (Part 1)

I truly believe that they wont add a brand new city unless they are going to cash in on it. With that said...they would seriously cash in if they released a new city in a paid DLC. It would make sense for them to do a city like Venturas or FIerro. Vice City isn't going to happen in next gen...its a city that only makes sense in the 80s and it wouldn't make sense to fly from 2013 Los Santos to 1980s Vice CIty.

 

If they do plan a DLC map expansion...there probably wont be another full game for several years...if they plan on releasing a full game and are putting resources in that then I wouldn't expect to see a substantial map expansion...but the possibility still lies that they could add a smaller city I just wouldn't count on it. My guess is if they planned a new game and a map expansion I'd guess the city would be liberty.

Currently most of R* Norths Design team is focused on GTA Online just as R* Norths Online Tools team.

I assume the artists etc. are focused on creating the map of the next GTA game at the moment while the scripting team takes care of GTA Online with ongoing updates and support, though they could be working on multiple project simultaniously.

The f*cking best selling game and highest budgeted game of all time did only have a single city, and you expect 2 in just an expansion?

 

Can't tell if trolling or just flat out delusional.

Everything with the budget to. create an entire new map, will be advertised as a fully fleshed out new game.

Yea which is why I think there is a small chance we do get a map expansion...Rockstar makes stupid amounts of money off GTA Online. They could be working on Liberty and/or a city like Vegas. But I dont expect them to do it. Logic says if they make a new map it will be for a new game. But they are in a unique spot where they have GTA Online and a map expansion could be huge...I think they are planning something big...I dont know why but I do. I feel like they are holding back on us.

We did know that Liberty City was in development according to a picture from a developer.

The thing is he might be onto something...if they are going to deliver 2-3 new maps. LA is a huge city...so if they added Venturas and Fierro it would still be a smaller map...My guess is they make it an update...60 dollars...and a games worth of new content. I dont know I think that would be the way to go if I was them.

Why do people don't get it, that different cities other than NY and LC are not gonna happen in DLC? Would you really think that they would use fully made, fully scripted map, that was never used, and put it in $30 DLC (at best) rather than using it in full new game that would costs +$60?

I just said LC was more likely to happen. Doesn't mean I can't say what I want though. Vice City would be great, 80s or modern setting. It would be a fresh map for current gen, would make boats far more practical and useful, you've even got Fort Baxter there, and it's just more variety than plain old LC.

 

Besides, you know as well as I do that LC isn't likely to happen either.

 

On topic: Is this biker thing I've been hearing about real then? Or is it just stories?

No, that is not how businesses operate.

Taxes alone minimize Shark Card profit by a big margin then add all the additional tax fees because R* is operating internationally and the very fact that an entire new game would sell and price higher than an expansion.

The question is not "could they afford producing it?", the question is, " would it be worth the production compared to other things we could do".

If they design two entire new maps, lets leave the fact that it would take 10 years here away btw.

they want fairly high profit, and why on earth make it an expansion when they can pump some more capital ibto it, give it a fully fledged Story and sell it as an entire new game that will smash records.

R* isn't Ubisoft, they are smart enough to see when the market is saturated, and luckily Shark Cards don't force R* to release unnecessary expansions or games, they allow them to take as much time as they need.

Since I suggested as much myself in my post, the natural way to take that is you telling me it's not going to happen so to stop talking about it.

 

Maybe I'm wrong though. I don't really care, I'm just spilling ideas and speculation like everyone else.

 

What's next anyway? Seems to me like the cars we've had leaked all came out quicker than I thought they might. Is anything else in the pipeline (other than bikers)?

Why aren't you believing them exactly ? Look those scripts can be found in gta 5 pc if you have the open iv mod ok. If you have the pc version you can view the scripts. Yan told us about a lowriders part 2 dlc and guess what ? We got lowriders classics which is basically lowriders part 2. Yan and Fun aren't idiots ok. They told us some important things about dlc. Hey if you think thats not good enough for you guess what ? Yan told us things that were in lowriders classics before that dlc came out. Yan said "This dlc will come out on March 17" well it came on March 17. Look you don't need rockstar to confirm things that will be in the next dlc ok. Why aren't you believing them exactly ? Most ppl didn't believe dragoon's leaks either. They swore the yacht would NEVER happen and the pics were fake lol. Then he turned out to be 100% correct. Yan has some real connections, while fun looks into code and reports his findings.

The casino part is most likely not gonna happen for a while or something ok. There are audio files regarding the casino, but those audio files were in the game since 2013. The biker dlc is possible, but the casino dlc probably would come in a while. The 6th garage maybe

Or the leakers hacked the CCTV feed and are using it against r*.LoL, "when R* had better PR", you do realize that NOT revealing your entire launch lineup is good pr since it leaves room for imagination which then proceeds to build hype?

They applied it to GTA V as well, only one, not too revealing Trailer, other than that only screenshots and art works, that led to peole literally dreaming about GTA V.

Rockstar has probably one of the best if not the best PR Team in the entire industry, they know what their doing, even if you think they don't, they still know.

Other than that, leakers take their ibformation from R* employees, back in the days R* would feed the important people like Designers with infprmation since they were credible and the staff in the trenches e.g. Mission scripters, qa, content developers would be left uninformed but heavily micro manages.

It wasn't a good way of treating employees, byt it worked.
