Next DLC Speculation Thread (Part 1)

So since they finally gave us the stock cars online, I wonder if they'll ever bring the Duke o' death in a fittingly themed update. I'd love a post-apocalypse themed update, but I'm not sure if R* would consider something like that too out of place.

It really is a fantastic update, especially hot on the heels of FAFF. The problem is everyone feels that they're entitled to DLC they would personally choose. I think there is something for everyone in this update, except whiny bitches who like complaining. I don't like bikes or trucks, but I can appreciate there are players who do. The races are great, the clothing is great and some of the vehicles, in my opinion, are also great. Great update.

So, was the update a disappointment as I predicted? Yes.

Not at all.Sure, there was a little worry at the beginning that the cars had to have a livery on them, but that was quickly proven wrong since you can remove liveries while in LSC. Was there a 6th garage slot? No, but that's really not that big a deal to most of us, and only really bothers those who desire to own every single car they have an interest in. There isn't as much customisation as I had personally hoped there would be for some of the vehicles, but to be honest I knew there wouldn't really be all that much. It's brilliant that R* included the SP race car versions of the Dominator, Gauntlet and Stallion in the update as many had hoped and wished for, especially since returning players can have them for free. The races themselves are absolutely amazing and really well done, i've only went over them all myself solo and I still had a blast, and the look at some of the props sure to be added to the creator on August 2nd really gets my hopes up for some quality community made races. Overall this DLC is definitely one of the best so far, and we haven't even received everything yet. The Dune, Cliffhanger and Contender look rally good, and i can't wait to get my hands on them to have some fun, and the Drift Tampa is sure to be a favourite among many, so it's just more to look forward to.

 

I don't really understand why you feel the need to hate on everything without even giving it a chance, and then immaturely and stubbornly stick to what you said before the update came out, even though i'm sure at least something in it has caught your attention, and if not, then oh well, it's not to your taste, but no need to sh*t on it like your opinion os the law and everyone else is a retard for thinking otherwise.

Lol, the races are horrible, and will only last a week, the cars are overpriced as hell and all of them feel the same tbh.

 

 

That's your opinion and you're perfectly entitled to it. Don't like the races? Don't race. Don't like the price of the cars, OR their handling/specs? Don't buy them. Don't like the update? Don't worry about it and go do something you DO like, if there is such a thing.

 

The prices of the cars? I'll agree with you, some of them are a bit much, but that's been the case of every update since Ill-Gotten Gains 1/2, and has steadily increased in every update since. If you thought they would be very affordable and could easily buy every vehicle included without making a dent in your bank account, that's down to your own naivety.

 

I'll also agree that that update has flaws, for example, the current races seem to be class-locked, so you are only able to race those particular classes for each individual race, which is a bit of a useless limit, but oh well.

 

As for the cars themselves, I'm having great fun with the Gargoyle and the Tropos Rallye, so far my favourite vehicles in the update, but they're also only 2 of the 3 cars i've bought, the 3rd being the Brioso, which is fun, but will take some getting used to. As for the rest, simply because of the price, I'm Waiting a few days for some people to get their customisation and performance videos up on youtube before i buy anything else. But I from the non-upgraded versions of all the new vehicles i've sampled from the races, I certainly don't understand how you seem to think they all feel the same, they all feel pretty unique to me, even without upgrades.

 

And you thinking the races will last a week and die out? Lol, but no. Racing is always the one game mode that I can get a decent sized lobby with, and between all the community created races and the races and this update, it's incredibly obvious that stunt racing is going to be one of the most popular game modes in the game for a long time.

 

Again, I don't understand your need to hate on everything, but it really is quite ignorant and immature.

It's entirely possible. 5 properties is a nice round number that R* may just want to stick to. IMO, it'd be in their own financial interest to add more, but hey, what do I know.

The traction on the Progen and Annis LMP is unbelievable. Btw, changing their spoilers don't seem to add traction, which works for me, because I like their stock variations.

I agree with that on general principle.

 

The DoD,,when we had it online for a little while, was found to be a bit more explosion-resistant than the Kuruma, but less bullet-proof. If I remember correctly. It's been awhile, and I'm on a painkiller now that's making things a but fuszzzzzy. But yeah...if what I remember is correct, I guess that makes it more similar to the Schafter armored cars in terms of protection.

 

The Kuruma is still probably the hardest vehicle to get shot in, and for that reason alone is probably the most useful ground vehicle to bring to a mission where NPC enemies might try to shoot you. Definitely better than the DoD, I do remember quite clearly trying it in missions and still getting shot up inside the car.

 

Wellll.......I think that's all I can think of to add to that. Bullet proof or not I'd still rather have the DoD. Yep I agree with that. I hope everything I said is coherent because I'm not used to being on pain meds.

IIRC when people did the SP to MP glitch to bring the stock cars online oh so long ago, Rockstar patched them out pretty quick. Strange thing was, unlike other blacklisted cars, the garage listing said something along lines of "you lack the DLC required for this car" or some such instead of simply wiping the car out of existence.

 

Apparently you get the same error for the returning player cars (Stallion, Blista Compact, Dukes) if you un-connect your social club from your GT/PSN. I'm not sure if the DoD had that same message after Rockstar decided to blacklist it after ignition bomb trolling everyone who glitched it in to online.

 

Not sure if that means much.

OK, my review of the update:

 

Stunt Races:

• What a pleasant surprise! They are ultra fun and they are only R* created ones. Multi checkpoints are relly nice touch. It's gonna be crazy after Aug 2nd.

 

Cars:

• Annis RE-7B - for now, disappointment. Not my favorite looking car and doesn't fit the atmosphere of GTA. IMO it should stay exclusive to races. It would be interesting. 7/10
• Emperor ETR1 - another disappointment. It looks nice and has SOME customization tho. 7.5/10
• Grotti Brioso R/A - great car, finally new compact, shame that it has those carbon fenders. 8/10
• Lampardati Tropos Rallye - BEST. CAR. FROM. DLC. EVER! 10/10
• Nagasaki BF-400 - meh. 6/10
• Obey Omnis - I'd love that car if only we had an option for completely stock one. 8.5/10
• Progen Tyrus - Shame it hasn't have option to remove the spoiler. Other than that, it's glorious! 9.75/10
• Vapid Desert Raid - Such an ugly vehicle. The non removable wheels at the back doesn't help it. 6/10
• Vapid Trophy Truck - This one is miles better than DR. But again non removable wheels and no customization options are big problems. 7.5/10
• Western Gargoyle - It could be my favorite bike, if it had ANY customization parts! I would have prefere it if it had single headlight. 8.5/10

Unreleased ones:

• Cliffhanger - same as Gargoyle. Why it hasn't any customization options! 8/10
• Ocelot Lynx - Finally new Ocelot. Sexy one too. But it's too similar to Massacro and Seven-70. 9/10
• Declasse Drift Tampa - WHY IT IS NOT IN BENNY'S??? WHY DID YOU MADE ANOTHER RUMPO CUSTOM, THAT ALSO HAD POTENTIAL FOR BEING BEENY'S CARS??? WHY IT HAS ZERO CUSTOMIZATION OPTIONS??? It looks like Hoonicoon, I will give them that. 7/10, if they ever gonna add Benny's customization: 10/10

It's kinda in the game as Utility Truck, so why it isn't stand alone car is beyond me...

IDK whatever R* "refreshes" (I don't know how is that refreshing, since it's f*cking Guardian, but lowered, but whatever) old vehicles. My problem is that they didn't included BOTH of the versions. You give comparison how real life car manufactures keeps rolling out new models. It's true, but the older model doesn't disappear and are never mentioned again. The cars are still there. In GTA it's not the case.

What also hurts is that IV Contender is almost in V, as Contender's body is used in Utility Van.

 

EDIT: Also HD Era and 3D Era are seperate universes, so reimagining some cars make sense.

But yeah...if what I remember is correct, I guess that makes it more similar to the Schafter armored cars in terms of protection.

The Kuruma is still probably the hardest vehicle to get shot in, and for that reason alone is probably the most useful ground vehicle to bring to a mission where NPC enemies might try to shoot you. Definitely better than the DoD, I do remember quite clearly trying it in missions and still getting shot up inside the car.

Wellll.......I think that's all I can think of to add to that. Bullet proof or not I'd still rather have the DoD. Yep I agree with that. I hope everything I said is coherent because I'm not used to being on pain meds.

The Dod wouldn't be unbalanced or anything in the slightest when we have Kurumas and other crazy combat vehicles around so I don't see why R* wouldn't just bring it online. One unique trait it has though is its ramming capability. It's really heavy for its size and if you use it with Franklin's ability in singleplayer you can even overpower trucks with it.

 

Anyway I mostly just want it, because it looks so badass. I probably wouldn't change the default matte black, because it suits it the best I think.

 

Btw idk how many people know this, but one instance of the free mode event where you have to deliver a vehicle actually has you driving the DOD to a location. You can't really use it after the event's over though.

All of those returned mostly unchanged and some of them even have two or three versions. So why not Brickade and Guardian Contender?

Why it would be pointless?

In my opinion adding another truck that looks like the 3 others, is pointless. Same thing with Nimbus and Volatus. Did we really needed another Shamal/Swift?
