Half of me is really looking forward to the update, but the other half is dreading it. My fear, quite reasonable though it may be, is predicated on the idea that R* doesn't get the point, which is that they need to make the game fun again. They've basically sucked it (the fun) all out and replaced it with expensive crap that you either have to grind to buy or simply cheat instead. Neither of those things appeal to me. I'm desperately hoping that F&F is as well executed, or better than E&OC; that's the only way to keep me in it at all.

Bodyguard version is even worse - if you don't go to Ammu-Nation while you're actively working as a bodyguard, you can't unlock it (i.e., you can't just do a bodyguard stint, then pick up the variant at your leisure afterwards).

 

 

On that note, wonder if there's some decent clothing items coming this time - not just more stuff locked in the preset VIP/bodyguard oufits that no-one uses...

we started as broke people running errants for gerald, lester, madrazo, we got into bigger things when we got involved with lester, karen daniels and agent 14 for the heist. after that we became vips and now as the "narrative" progress we have become so big, we dont need to work for nobody, we run our own business.

True, had to wait out until one of my friends was able to become a VIP to get it.

 

Well some new clothing was shown but unknown if its actual new purchasable clothing or once again locked out to those statuses.

 

Overall hyped for the whole organization thing, the vehicles not so much; the off-road van, armored truck and tugboat sure are having my attention but the other stuff not really(not a big fan of super cars, most of them look almost the same to me, however may give a look at that new Vapid super but most likely won't buy it either way).

 

I wonder if there is going to be new safehouses, not likely but would be nice if some of those stilit houses in Paleto Bay and Chumash were added as new buyable properties.Amazing locations to have a safehouse at.

This is being speculated as being as big as the heists update was.. the VIP update was the tip of the iceberg and now we're getting a glacier of content and missions, ran by us, shoved down our throats.. This update isn't just buyable content in game. It's a whole new line up of missions and possibilities..

Not sure if players use Sharkcards constantly or is it just me. I see posts saying "Not sure if 8 million's enough" & I'm sitting here with 20 thousand bucks, my most ever was 200 thousand and used them to get a high end apartment for heists, only to realize that playing heists needs money. Maybe it is just me. lol I guess I don't have the ass to sit for several hours and play the game. I used to spare countless hours playing games back in the day but, man, adulthood f*cked it up for me.

Same. Had the game since launch but im broke as a joke. Im sitting on maybe 140k at this point, it wasnt enough for the lowrider dlc and i know for sure it isnt enough for this dlc. Im not complaining or anything but i sure do hope we can partake in raids and stuff for free.

We just barely got the trailer 4 hours ago. Jesus.

People are becoming less interested in these updates. Only over 200 replies since trailer. Threads like this almost doubled when lowriders, E and OC etc were announced.

Yeah, the game is 3 years old. Isn't that to be expected really?

 

Also, it is very negative around here. That's hard to sift through for months waiting for a DLC. Lots of miserable types on here that hate everything and insist on ruining this forum for those of us that really like this game.

Well, I'm almost certain that there's at least one Sports Classic (honestly all I want now to complete this DLC near perfect) I mean, NO ONE expected the Heists to have the Casco for exemple. Also, we still have the stunts update for July! I won't be surprised if this update doesn't have more vehicles than I want because well...The big thing about this DLC is the introduction of financing.

I don't understand why I see people all the time assuming that cunning stunt will be out in July. If it comes out in july it will be at the very end of the month.

 

 

Believe it or not, we used to get an update roughly every month.

 

Not sure about that, but if you are refering to the first updates, it was basically 2-3 new cars and new clothes. Not at all similar to the size of the update we are getting now.

Finally a DLC worth coming back for.....only if they fix server issues as well! They were improved a few weeks ago, but tried logging in last weekend and back to garbage. Disconnects and can't find compatible games are back. No update is good if you can't enjoy them with friends....especially when they are based on team work like VIP is. Really excited to see more missions and objectives, hopefully they all play out in free mode like VIP is setup.

Wow guys it really is amazing. Do you think we will get new wheels? they really seem to have detailed the Reaper's stock wheels, I'm not sure the Vulcan has stock though, they look like Benny's.

 

I really hope they've added the option to have car logo on the wheels or just some new options. They're based on the Aventador SV's rims, look identical, I might just keep them on. Chrome trim does put me off wheels that are all black though.

 

The Vapid Bullet has the rims of what the real life Lambo Centenario has lol so maybe Lamborghini are stealing ideas from GTA, tables turned

There's no way the Vapid will cost less than the Reaper, looks alone it looks like they're gonna make it fastest. It has a look of the Chiron to it also, which if it does makes it automatically the fastest.

Oddly enough, I've used those windows as target practice on the top of the construction site. Discovered they have a glass texture when you shoot them (i.e. spiderweb cracking) instead of the standard wall textures where it just shows the bullet holes. Not many ares have the sold glass texture.

I'm seriously hyped, and I don't do hype that much, and I've only seen a snippet of what is coming out. I really want that Reapers, the Ford GT, and the new Grotti. As well I want that Brickade/Armored truck. The Vans are growing on me, and I hope those Armored SUVs have an unarmored variant.

 

I like the Helicopter, and am quite the sucker for those executive helis. The plane is, meh.

 

The offices would be nice to have, I'm planning on using it for a few things, one being the CEO dealio in game, and another as a staging place for future race seasons that I plan to have.

 

Warehouses, not much to say, unless they have one where we can store our cars in.

 

Clothes, love it, and hoping that they have some of the VIP clothing on sale finally, found an outfit I like for my primary character.

 

Weapons, that remains to be seen.

 

I really am excited about this update, but not so much about the work I have to put in right now to get to enjoy it.

I'd say second to last. We might get something big to celebrate the 3 year anniversary.

It is most likely the last year of real updates. Cars, clothing and some weapons might be released from time to time but that's it IMO... edit: adversary modes too Player created shi! will be enough for some people to play the game for another month/year after "real" support is dropped.

 

PS: He mentions the 3 year anniversary in the statement and I think it's more than a clue.

How your character makes all this progress, making names in the underground racing circuit, killing, robbing, and even pulling off complex heists in some major areas of the city. Now your character is gonna start up a f*cking enterprise, trafficking contraband, humans, organs, what the f*ck ever and basically have Tommy Vercetti status in Los Santos. And in GTAV (a few years later), you are either barely known, or not even mentioned at all in the story. So, all you do in GTA Online, tearing up the city, climbing up the criminal ranks, doesn't even f*cking matter, and everyone just goes back to their normal lives. So, what's the point in doing things that don't even matter? Maybe you retired, maybe you just thought the criminal life was too much, and fled town, who the f*ck knows? But you know, maybe a little bit of respect should've been shown for the most dangerous, daring, intelligent, and determined, might I add, character in a GTA game, the GTA Online Protagonist.

Supporting new content is diffrerent than keeping it running.

 

IK once the updates dries out, there's no more incentive to play it anymore.

It's actually a few months later not a few years I think. But honestly I don't think Rockstar is too concerned with story continuity issues considering that our online character is not really considered "canon" in the HD universe outside of a Lester mention in one of the heist set ups in the story. Sure some of the missions you do Lester reaps the benefits of later on when the events of GTA V happen, but other than that online really is its own realm.

i feel R* made a mistake when they said gtao take place just months before the events in V...

 

its as if they didnt expected gtao to be such a success so they just came up with the "a few months ago" excuse.

 

the connection between V and gtao is not relevant anymore, i think we can all agree that gtao outgrew V.
