I don't drink. Dulls the senses. I do have perspective. This is a video game. It's supposed to be fun.

I agree, so walk away from it for a while. It'll still be here when you get back, and that goes for all of us, not just ShadowOperative.

I had fun playing today. I won't walk away from it. I love the game as is.

Every DLC is gravy for me.

I think the people here are seeing adversary mode the wrong way. I see it as a filler so Rockstar can just release something here and there and do a week theme. It doesnt take time and ressources from rockstar to do these as we can see by playing some of these. When Rockstar release a adversary mode, it doesnt mean that the entire last week they worked on it and not on any other stuff...

I would rather have 2-3 contact mission release here and there, but I don't know sh*t about making a video game, maybe creating a mission takes a lot of time or maybe they are working on a set of new mission for a future update.

Anyways, its better to have adversary mode with weekly discount and stuff then nothing while there is the usual 2-3 months in between updates.

But we haven't had a true, full-fledged update in 4 months now and there isn't even any announcement about one coming in the near future. As a result, people are obviously anxious about news one way or another. Is R* done doing big DLCs? Will they release the grandaddy of them all? Is the adversary mode going to be the big thing going forward? Nobody has an effing clue because R* hasn't really said a damn thing.

They will, but in their time, not ours. I don't know any more than that.

I too like to look at them as fillers but R* keeps us in the dark so we don't have anything to calm our fears. We have no idea if these are the future along with Benny's or if we're going to get major updates that include Bahama Mama's, Casino, Lottery, etc. If R* at least confirmed big stuff is coming soon, people would calm down.

Nah... Last time they confirmed big stuff (the heist) the players were getting angry because it took longer then expected for rockstar to do them. Its easy to understand why they dont announce big thing a few months before it get release, if they change plan or encounter any problems they wont get everybody upset again.

Count me out of leaking anything about future updates, however I will keep you updated with tunables whenever there's a new version of it.

I might post cryptic messages in twitter and thats it, nothing to do with T2.

YOU NEED THE YANZ !!

We all appreciate what you've done for us and the GTA community as a whole. I'm not sure why you're suddenly done leaking unreleased content, but I'm assuming it's because you were asked or threatened by Take Two to stop. Or I may be wrong, who knows lol. Either way, you've done a lot for this community and gave us the communication that Rockstar really needs to give us, and that's telling their community of gamers their plans for the future of GTA Online.

Operation Paperclip

.. I'd like to see some motorcycle DLC.

Be good to see all types of bikes receive new models and/or new upgrades. Especially superbikes - I wanna go much, much faster.

Has Fun said why he is stopping?

Because he has been wrong pretty often lately.

But seriously, Yan is still alive and kicking, so I don't see why this is a big deal. Although Fun had rather good skills in debunking/decrypting files and stuff, Yan's source is also very credible and his infos are rarely wrong. I'm sure he will continue to share some tidbits of information whenever he can, but for now my guess is that his source is laying low (and I'm pretty good at guessing :colgate:).

So many people in this thread assuming this year is the last year of GTA Online updates... I wish.

Let's not forget the digits, fellas: 500.000.000 DOLLARS IN SHARK CARDS. This is literally the greatest cash cow Rockstar has at the moment, and it's easy to see why. Quality doesn't matter by this point, making and adding proper assets to the game is pointless effort, they know people are just gonna buy any f*cking thing that's included in an update, preferentially if half of it is locked in game files for a while and only released throughout separate installments during the course of a month to give the false impression of constant novelty. Simply porting old cars from GTA IV? Gotta have that. Muscle cars with obnoxious liveries and a few more cosmetic upgrades as an expensive lowrider upgrades? Aw yea, I'm totally getting those. Reskinned and lightly remodeled yacht that's been literally re-used since Max Bloody Payne 3? f*ck yeah, I'll gladly throw my 7 million at that, thank you.

Making new games takes time and effort. GTA V obviously isn't going to be the last Rockstar game, but I can guarantee here and now that we're going to continue seeing senseless filler GTA Online updates until the release of whatever next game they publish, and if that game isn't a GTA title to replace V with an "Online 2.0" then perhaps we'll continue getting updates even after it. And you know how the Rockstar pattern goes, even if they announce a new game this year it won't be ready until May 2017... At the very least. Ergo, this is not going to be the last year of updates.

I really hope you're wrong, and kinda think we'll see one more, bigg-ish update, but I'm rapidly losing faith now.

I'd say we've had two normal updates this year, just spread out over last four months. If you took the content in both updates this year and released them within the same month you'd go from this:

January/February:

January 2016 Update/Be My Valentine Special

March/April:

Lowrider Custom Classics Update

To this:

January: n/a

February: February 2016 Update/Be My Valentine Special

March: Lowrider Custom Classics Update

April: n/a

If the updates were released that way, it would have been similar to the 2014 update schedule:

January: n/a

February: Valentine's Day Massacre

March: The Business Update

April: n/a

Looking at it that way, we've had the same amount of content updates as 2014 at this point. Rockstar opted to spread the content out over two months, instead of having two months of nothing. Which, I think, was better than having nothing for a month. If all of the content in the Lowrider Custom Classics update was released in March and there was nothing but silence in April, I wonder how the community would have reacted for the past month.

EXACTLY!

i'd rather have them release stuff every month, than having to sit empty handed for 2-3months, but hey people would bitch anyway.

release stuff every month, people bitch

release nothing, people bitch

release cheap, stuff people bitch

release expensive, stuff people bitch

release new cars, people bitch

release gta 4 cars, people bitch

add cars to bennys, people bitch

add lowriders, people bitch

release adversary modes, people bitch

good or bad we are constantly receiving content and people still bitch all the time!

Honestly, I think people would be much happier if there were more regular previews of forthcoming content - look how far in advance we got looks at the Ill-Gotten Gains stuff, and how that had people anticipating it, and same with the Heists trailer and screenshots prior to launch.

Heck, even then, Heists had the best part of three months (with no news) between that trailer, and the update itself - IMO, R* would could have easily done weekly profiles of things coming in the update, to keep people interested:

Week 1: Overview of the Lectro

Week 2: Profile of Maxim Rashkovsky

Week 3: ...and so on.

Just little teases of things coming in the update - nothing massively spoilery, but regular things to keep the hype train's boiler stoked. ;) I definitely feel that'd be a better way of keeping people interested than chopping up an update and releasing that in weekly installments - once the main update's dropped, anything else is 'more of the same', and people are much more interested in 'what's coming next'.

Here's my optimism for the day. There was only a significant discount on yachts recently and then this week, nothing on cars, properties, nada. It might be some evidence that they're draining people's GTA banks in order to stick them with really expensive stuff soon...

Hopefully finally a car that is more expensive than the T20, like...... 5 million. 50 k insurance, line ten of those suckers up with randoms and wait for a jet troll to come out of his basement. Boom, big dent in his wallet. :D

I assume

after they couldn't stock to their promises in 2014, and with Heists and Story DLC, they have this "if it's not finished, we'll not talk about it" policy.

Imagine the disappointment if the things they had teased for over 4 months would get delayed by another year...

We have to keep in mind that R* is working on other projects simultaniously and that their Update schedule doesn't follow a set-in-stone plan.

God, this is depressing. I love Rockstar, I really do. GTA has been in my life since I was just a little little kid. Seeing GTA just get run into the ground with this pointless sh*t so they could sell microtransactions, it just doesn't feel like Rockstar. It feels too corporate for them, they were always the cool devs who never gave a f*ck and pushed out some of the best games I've ever played. This game still entertains me because at it's heart it really is a great game. If I was able to Enjoy GTA IV freemode for years and years this should obviously keep my interest. But seriously, Rockstar needs to show passion again.
