Next DLC Speculation Thread (Part 1)

Why is everyone on GTA 6 already? You won't see it for another 3 or 4 years and that doesn't include delays. Also if everyone believes GTA V is dead, what makes you think GTA 6 will be better? Everyone believes that creativity is gone now the Benz has departed. The previous statement completely nullifies the point of even making another GTA game, based off what has been expressed in this forum. There are other players behind the scenes that can reconcile GTA V. Do you believe TTI and Rockstar Games will let a proven money making product just fall off the cliff? They can't afford to do that, because they have other video games they are working on and the technology required to make them better than their predecessors ain't cheap. They are not done wowing us in GTA V. It makes perfect business sense for them to keep developing it, especially if they plan to fund their projects and pay their employees. Also consider the GTAV is the only major game from RSG that people play too.

If we're going from the release date and compare it to the release of GTA V after IV we realistically should only have to wait a couple years. They announced GTA V 3 years after GTA IV came out, and it's been 3 since V came out.

I think I said it as little as 73 pages ago...

Best DLC ever would be to throw the blacklist of vehicles out and let me store the stupid rusty tractor, the riding lawnmower, or maybe even an RGB painted bulldozer in my garage like I did the first few days of gta5.

They only release rehashed vehicles anyways, so save the bloatware and turn up the sandbox.

I approve of this. I want to store my cop car, but I can't because of R*'s logic.

 

Lowriders are just the same vehicles with more upgrades, so why are they still releasing them?

 

That's totally true a blacklist free update would be ten fold more exciting than hiests. I'm down for that.

The thing with expensive items wouldn't be an issue if something worthwhile to make money came out. Races are fun when there are 10 plus people in a long haul, but ultimately if they want to keep making every vehicle $1M to purchase and customize, they need some worthwhile missions. Even if it's only two or three heists instead of five. Something to make money legitimately PLEASE.

It's not new, it's from 2014. So they've obviously been working on this story mode DLC for quite some time. And i'm pretty sure that they are working on a story DLC because otherwise they wouldn't of said 'some very exciting story mode DLC and much more', I wait with anticipation.

That was however, before their lead The Benz was lured out of the company, since 2015, most of their staff has been transferred to Online staff, especially in Missions and tools departments. [source: LinkedIn]

Current State:

 

 

Next Update:

- In and Out Adversary Mode

- 3rd May

- maintanance may have been a preperation

- may contain new VIP features

- there is still potential for it being a big expanded Update if it is announced tomorrow.(since E&OC was also announced only 5 days in advance)

 

Story Mode DLC:

- was announced in 2014 inside of a Newswire post

- since then no mention of it

- Most of R*s internal staff was transferred to Online Mode, indicating Story DLC was cancelled.[source: LinkedIn]

 

Rockstars E3 presence:

- unlikely, only their subsidary 2K is featured with two major releases allready

 

 

 

Now lets think about this for a second. They keep on releasing updates for GTA Online. Eventually, there is a point where this will stop because of a new GTA or just a new Rockstar game. Its quite possible that this E3 thing will be the announcement of the final blow out. If I remember correctly, I remember Take Two being at E3 when The Ballad of Gay Tony was supposed to release in the following October. I remember seeing a picture a TV at a convention and the TV showed Luis skydiving over Algonquin. I believe this was right when TBOGT was announced.

 

I have a feeling inside of me that the final update to the game will be a DLC which contains the single player DLC we have been waiting for, as well as an update for Online. I believe that the final update for the game will be a large one. I feel that if it adds story missions, it may be a paid DLC for SP. I don't know if the Online portion would be free or not. Its possible that people who pay for the SP DLC will be authorized to buy some of the vehicles it contains in Online.

 

Though, they do need to do it so the MP doesn't get split up for the DLC like it did in GTA IV, where we had the original multiplayer, then one for TLAD, and another for EFLC. Also, if I remember correctly, TLAD's multiplayer got split between those who had the DLC and those who had the EFLC disk on the Xbox 360. Not sure about PS3. Regardless, the splitting multiplayer is something Rockstar would want to avoid doing with GTA V. If I remember correctly, they didn't split it in Red Dead Redemption when Undead Nightmare came out.

 

Anyways, its Take Two that will be at E3. They will probably be releasing info about Mafia III, content for GTA V, and possibly the next release from Rockstar. (What ever happened to Agent?)

 

I hope the SP DLC is very big if its the last DLC to GTA online because i would think they would come out with two different story DLC's and not one like they did with GTAIV ELFC. They should have the common sense now not to separate the multiplayer content due to SP DLC like they did last time which was a very bad idea.
