Next DLC Speculation Thread (Part 1)

They'll announce something on Thursday... Probably. I miss the old updates. Super cars, fun aircraft, weapons that were useable in PVP. Before Benny's we had awesome stuff but were asking for more customization. I'm hoping the next update will bring 4 or 5 new vehicles, and add several Sports/ Supers to Benny's in addition to that. Bring in some nice clothing and gear, maybe some more penthouses or even mansions (long shot I know) and that'll be a well-rounded update that actually seems possible. And for those saying cut content would never be added - wasn't Progen in the files from day 1? They could add the cut weapons that were posted here days ago. I'm really hoping R* starts using Benny's for cars other than lowriders more, it'd be an awesome move on their part and we'd be getting more awesome stuff like the RS/ 900R. I'm optimistic, I think this next one is going to be good.

I stopped wishing for stuff that are unlikely to come. And if they do, to come the way i wanted them to be or rather the way they should have been in the first place...

carefull with Benny and super cars though. Don't want to see rockstar deciding that upgraded sport cars are the new super cars. Want super cars that are actually super cars from the start. Otherwise we Will never get to see the overflod and pfister brand get a new machine that isn't a upgraded ingame car. Realy don't like ricers being classed as supers. Maybe have 1 real super car without Benny added along with sports cars that can be upgraded. This way you get both in 1 update.

To put the Sultan in super class was really a mistake from R*. It would have matched perfectly in sport cars. Anyways I want more cars to be upgraded at Bennys. First of all the Comet.

t20 getting upgraded makes the most sence in that class. thing is rockstar has the habbit of not giving us new cars when benny is involved,exept for maybe 1 or 2 at the maximum. since they see upgrading ingame cars as a "new" car on its own for some reason. kinda feel cheated when they do that.

That has no bearing on whether or not it failed, to me. What were their goals? That's a more accurate determination because realistically, GTAO would've been a huge success by the standards of almost any other game unless they made it nothing but missions where your player cleans an outhouse; it had beyond enormous brand equity going in.

They are a company. Their goals are generally to be successful financially. They are a publicly traded company so they have a legal financial responsibility to their shareholders to do so.

 

To do so they need to generate income and retain players so that the revenue stream continues. The player base of 8 million players and the revenue generated of 500 million dollars tells us that the game is doing exactly what it is designed to do, and that is to make money for the company to fund further development of other games so that the company can continue on into the future. The game is doing exactly that and much better than many online games out there.

 

8 million players tells us that the game is good enough to keep that many players coming back. 8 million players would absolutely not be coming back if it was a game about outhouse cleaning.

 

Also, as far as GTA Online goes, there will be no new game. Rockstar has stated early on that the very reason it is named GTA Online and not GTA V Online is that it will exist independently of the single player games and GTAO will be updated as time goes on, instead of being replaced by a new version of GTAO when the next games come out it will be expanded with new content. Then GTA VI or whatever next game comes out we will still be playing GTAO, just with the map and new assets from the next GTA in it. We will not get a new one.

 

This, a thousand times this. Also, GTA:O can still continue when GTA Next comes, they just add the map to GTA:O. doesn't have to have connecting landmasses, though I'd love to have connecting landmasses for driving purposes. Would it be an extreme overhaul? Yes, yes it would, but Runescape just proved that developers can update an existing game to a newer engine and better textures, so it isn't inconceivable for it to continue.

 

 

 

is there any new update leaked files? I mean there's maintenance on Wednesday. Doubt if it's related for an update...

The next update is speculated to be coming May 3 because the newest Adversary Mode, In and Out, needs an update to be released. Other than that, we have basically nothing.

What could it be? A new car maybe?

 

Could be like the January Update, Where Dropzone was bundled with the Sultan RS and Banshee 900R.

urgh Benny updates... Enough of them for the moment.

im sure a benny update for race cars like they did with the sultan/banshee would be highly appreciated by the majority of people.

 

overall the sultan/banshee update was well received, even with the bad joke of bumping the cars from sport to supers category.

i don't know,while it will be received well i think doing one just after benny got his hands full with lowriders might be to soon. i think it would be best if they release something fresh first,something that doesn't have anything to do with benny atm.it would give this benny drought vibe i believe

I was thinking the cheetah also. They could do a wide body gt racer out of it. Its a great car, but the only customization is triple stacking spoilers lol. Ppl thought the banshee would never happen, but the 900r is one of my favs. Other than that the vacca and bullet would make nice race cars imo aswell. I doubt the t20 and osiris would since theyre base price is ridiculous. If a t20 race car ended up being 3.5 mill ppl would freek out lol.

@JesusFR33K if it was super lightweight, had a nice, big wing and serious horsepower along with a beautiful racecar sound and stance, even the P1 GTR style one-seater interior, I'd pay 4 mil for it. The real one is a little over a mil more than the regular P1 iirc so it'd make sense. And with the Osiris, it could get a full CF body and a BC wing, and front bumpers without the stupid tow hooks and canards. They'd be pretty cool cars to add to Benny's imo.

Honestly, I really want to see a clothing update with like 3-4 cars. I would hope that it would be just as good for the female characters as it would be for the male characters though because Rockstar more often than not, kinda screws the female characters over in terms of clothing. Anyways, I just want more variety is all.

Im thinking an e&oc part 2 with business ownership as the new feature (where yachts was in part 1) will be the next big update. Then a full blown racing update with the stock cars from sp, a few bennified race cars, track suits, and a few new cars would be the following big one.

Well I have crazy conspiracy theory! There is nothing to back-up this at all, just my speculation.

What if they are preparing Tuner DLC (shameless plug ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)) and 900R and RS were just thrown inside Dropzone DLC, b/c they were most finished out of the bunch?

What if their point was to tease us and make us want more?

It would make sense!

They already did that with LTS (release DLC cars from other DLC beforehand), so why not with this?

I'm starting to think they may give us something premature ejaculation worthy, with multiple aspects of things we've been asking for. With all the bad press from the current lawsuit, and growing criticism of gtao by it's hardcore base R* may just release something to shut up and stop the haters/dissent.

 

I'm probably just delusional from lack of sleep and drug abuse, but this WOULD buy them more slack from the critics who also buy shark cards. Shark cards DO keep online alive, despite what some of you might suggest.

 

I hope they do at least... We NEED something dare i say...EPIC.

I just want a big Weapon update! just imagine (bare with me) a Benny's "like" ammu-nation custom shop that allows you to put some real Performance mods on your weapon such as increase rate of fire with the sacrifice of damage/accuracy. or weight adjustments to the weapons. this sounds more like a something they would do for GTA 6 but hey Executives and other Criminals was big to.

 

...or they could just add more weapons
