Then I guess the matchmaking doesn't suck nearly as bad as you people say it does considering I've logged in at least every other night for the last two weeks, have been lobbies everytime with 20+ people, and have seen more full races in the last two weeks than the preceding year.

 

So, yeah, if it's "dying," it seems to be burning pretty damned brightly ont he way out.. .or you're just making sh*t up.

 

I'm going with the latter.

 

 

30,962 players on the PC version of Battlefield 4 currently

 

38,366 players on the PC (steam) version of Grand Theft Auto V.

 

So yes.. there are more players in Grand Theft Auto V. However... this does not take into account that a large chunk of those players are also likely playing the Grand Theft Auto V single player, NOT the online. Whereas the player count for Battlefield 4 is made up almost entirely of online players. Oh.. and it came out several years BEFORE grand theft auto, suggesting it has far longer lifetime and value with PC gamers. Grand Theft Auto on PC just has too many hackers and it killed off the huge chunk of players very quickly.

 

If you look at an annual graph of players coming and going to both these games, Battlefield 4 has leveled out and even adopted a large group of new players, whereas Grand Theft Auto V has been in decline ever since release and it's still dropping.

 

So I apologize, I was previously incorrect in saying that BF4 has more players than GTAV. However.. I am correct in saying that the player count has diminished significantly faster than it did for Battlefield 4. BF4 had far more players actively playing at this point in its lifetime than GTAV has now. So yes.. it's dying.. pretty f***ing fast.

 

In fact you are wrong again here.

 

I am not sure where you got the BF 4 "graph" as I am not able to find any info on the graph over time on Battleifield 4s player count,

but GTA Vs players are still at an active 1.2 Million active players(in a 2 weeks cycle), while of course the number at Release was a lot higher, GTA V also had 1.2 Million active players during last december.

So to say "the game is dying fast", is kind of a fallacy.

 

Btw. the misstake you are making is probably that you are looking on SteamCharts, for GTA Vs "average player count", however that is something which does not consider how many individual players are actively playing, its hard to explain overall.

 

Anyway, looking at the active player base, GTA V is still the same as last December.

But as long as there is no data about how many people are playing GTA Online and how many GTA V Singleplayer, we cannot realy draw any conclusions.

I agree with those talking about the Q&A, I want to hear more hints on future DLC.

No just Future DLCs. Ever since 2012 There has been one A&A per year. They could give us an A&A a week or two from now, (Almost 1 year since the last one) to address much needed questions. Such as,

- What will the Next Update offer?

- The duration of GTA V's Online?

- Will there be a Single Player DLC?

- Any Upcoming Rockstar Games? (they may tell us to wait for E3)

and so on...

 

I would take anything right now other than articles about unnecessary discounts, Pointless Event Weeks and Fan Made Snapmatics (Who by the way are from the same people every time).

 

...but I'm just going to stand by the simple fact that GTA V still sells for full price as an example...

 

When it gets a price cut, then you'll know it's in need of a fresh influx of players, however after 2.5 years it's still selling remarkably well. Matter of fact, with one google search I turned up http://www.vgchartz.com/which tells me that GTA V is still the #7 best selling PS4 game worldwide.

 

So, no. Not dying. Not even close.

 

May I also remind you that games like GTA which come out once every 5/6 years are always near full retail price. While on the other hand games like Sport games, C.O.D, and other annual games drop the retail price to almost half of the original Price after a new game of that same franschise comes out.

 

Also let us not forget that GTA is not your average game.

 

I sort of agree with you that GTA isn't really "dying". A majority of players continued to play GTA IV until GTA V came out. The same will be done to GTA V. people will continue to keep playing GTA V until GTA 6 comes out even if R* stop updating the game.

More trees and more desert! Yes!, I just love cruising around in the varied environments, but they feel too small. Hopefully if they ever do a map expansion, they add more forrest and desert regions.

Actually, BF4 came out circa 2 weeks before GTA V...not years..but you are comparing apples and oranges.

Of course there are going to be more players in games like BF4 and CoD that is because the FPS genre has the largest playerbase compared to any other genre of game. That's why there are so many freeroam warriors in GTA. So, comparing GTA to BF4 is, quite literally comparing apple to oranges, there really is no similarity with any game really.

 

Though, I do acknowledge the drop in playerbase on PC, but that is just one platform. From what I remember all 4 console versions are going strong. Hell, I just sold my PS3 version of the game an hour after posting it for sale, that shows there is actual demand for the game. If R* got off their asses and fixed the problems that allow hackers in the game, then that could actually bring back a lot of players to the PC platform. So using a single, and flawed, statistic to prove the game is dying is ludicrous. PC has major issues that need to be addressed, and, that, would be the reason why many left the platform, not the lack of new content.

I highly doubt they'd reuse their old map and add more to it. Unless the story involves Marston again, that is.

while on the E3 Take Two is featured, the refferel link they provided was to 2K, additionally 2K as a subsidary of TakeTwo is featured as well, while Rockstar Games remains unmentioned completely

 

So either they want to keep it a secret, or more logicly, TakeTwo is attending with a lot of 2K produced games, probably including Battleborn and also the anticipated new Bordlerlands 3, which probably is what Strauss Zelnik meant with "in a big way".

Current Gen version of GTA V was announced at E3. Maybe, like you said they could be keeping it a secret. Any sort of Rockstar news at E3 would surely be the main event.

Not having anything new information and content wise has me going back through Super San Andreas Autos and Legendary Motorsports to see if there's anything worth my time and the Dewbauchee Exemplar... Way under rated. It's a pretty solid car, even without upgrades. And I've gone back to the Faction Donk, just for sh*ts and giggles. With the right color combo and livery it looks pretty killer. Well, a couple more weeks til May... Hopefully we hear something. I'd be happy with just an A&A, just so we know what to expect. And, I will admit, Inch by Inch doesn't suck butt like I thought it would. It's actually pretty fun.

if a player leave in the middle of the game it turns into a massacre, in normal freeroam situations a 3vs2 is not that bad, but in this mode it completely destroy the balance, it gets ugly.

As far as a vehicles Id like to see in the game...

 

The VTOL Osprey...I dont even care if it has guns.

 

The Apache in game known as the Hunter...yeah we got the Savage but thats Russian and I know they have the Apache they just haven't released it yet. Dont know if they scrapped it but Id love to see it come in the game.

 

 

 

-As far as boats with guns goes...I personally wouldn't mind seeing a Warstock version of the predator with machine gun turrets similar to the Valkyrie. But I dont care if they add it...I am rarely in boats.
