They could possible release all of the "cut content" as one entire update.

 

And I think there'd be people from all areas pleased for certain reasons. You'd get weapons, vehicles, properties, game modes and more.

Won't happen. R* knows they don't have to put any effort into making us happy. They know they have a cult following who are thrilled with them no matter what they do, and who viciously attacks anyone who dares express any discontent with R*. Don't believe me? Watch the replies to this.

 

 

Yeah, unfortunately I know, and agree completely.

 

There is still some suggestion cut content may be used in the future but I don't know... I get the impression things are already "drying up" or "slowing down".

 

When an update releases, the interest to play GTA Online for some players, returns. If the content in that update only hooks and reels them in for one or two days, then it probably could've been developed more or released at a later date as a bigger update.

You can't compare Skyrim or Fallout for they are SP games. GtaOnline is MP and what I said still stands firm. Modders legally cannot produce content for GtaOnline for all the reasons I said before and then some.

 

I'm a designer and anything I create is my intellectual property. Modders would literally have to become Rockstar Employees or Contractors/Freelancers and sign over everything they create to Rockstar. Rockstar would still have to approve all content created and it would have to pass thru QA.

 

Also nothing with real world organizational names, logos or copy could be used for copyright reasons. And the mods for SP games aren't approved by the company that made the game nor do they have any legal affiliation with the content.

 

Allot of consumers have no clue about how things work and live in a fairy tale where modders can create lowriders for public online use and distribution.

 

What if Rockstar only allowed the very best content created to be signed over? Couldn't they look through the stuff, and only go through any awkward paper work for the stuff that's good? 90% of it probably wouldn't be good enough for the game, so I don't suppose there'd be that much that would get signed over.

 

Then again, I'm hardly an expert on this kind of thing. Could be pretty cool if they found a way to make it work though. Could mean a whole load of new cars, weapons, vehicles, etc. being released.

That's not an entirely a bad idea, but it would take allot of time to sift thru all the user modder created content to figure out what's good and what's not. Maybe almost as long as what it would take to just make it themselves.

 

Rockstar would also have to hire or create a team dedicated just to doing that, which would take away overhead, time, resources and personnel from other endeavors.

Next update better be an actual Update and not some stupid Lowriders that they have been recycling over and over again since November Of 2015.

I agree with you, they should just release mod tools to convert existing vehicles into customized vehicles at Benny's customs and let the modders do the job for them and work on actual updates.

Legally, creatively, and fiscally that is not possible. Rockstar would have to pay each modder for their work on the vehicles, license the rights to their designs thru either outright purchasing the intellectual property or pay royalties to them and only allow the designs in game for a contracted amount of time. It would be a legal nightmare and contracts with all involved, the world doesn't work that way.

Go check Team Fortress 2. They made content from players contributions since almost 5 6 years. So yes! It's definitively possible. Just need to be in the game theme without any real logo.

 

They even made a community update.

Make it truck horn 2 or something. It would go great on my blacked out rally fighter, the Brawler, and even the Insurgent, Sandking, Guardian, and other trucks in the game.

Hey guys,

 

Here's a few informations I got about how and when the 3 remaining Lowriders will be released, as well as 2 Adversary Modes. The 3 cars will be released 1 by 1, at a pace of 1 per week, in April, and in the following order: Tornado Custom, Minivan Custom, Sabre Turbo Custom.

 

Along with that comes 2 Adversary Modes. We already talked about Inch by inch, this one will be coming out on the same day as the Minivan Custom. There's another Adversary Mode, called In and out, that will be coming early in May.

 

About In and out, judging by the English and French names, it seems like the goal of this one is to enter somewhere, steal a package, and get out quickly. I also found an help text for it in the files:

 

IAO_HELP_1 = If all remaining packages are held at the end of the timer, attackers will get a further minute to deliver them. If any of the held packages are dropped during Sudden Death the defenders win. 

Since everything is already in the files, it means that we are not going to get any new update in April.

Please keep in mind that these informations are not confirmed. This is the current planning, but it can obviously change. I will make sure to let you know if I can get any kind of confirmation for the actual release dates, when we get closer to them.

If all of this is true, it's a good evidence of Rockstar running out of ideas... And people are still expecting DLCs for the next three years lol.That could be. It also could be they don't want to contiune to f*ck the game up and render it unplayable. Every last update has screwed the game up in some way, shape or form. I lag out of sessions several times a day now.

I also kind of believe the game has major issues that need to be fixed which is why perhaps they are releasing these fillers to keep everyone happy while they work behind the scenes. Despite how powerful the new consoles are I can't believe they have maxed out on what that can do.

I seen one briefly. Just a fleeting glimpse through the tree's. I tried to get a pic but it was all blurred.

People thought it was just a Kuruma pretending in a silly Snipe costume though..

Great info Yan, unfortunately that is probably one of the most poor release date schedules that I have ever seen. Like f*ck me man. I don't understand why they are dragging all this out. Buying time until the next real update?

 

I mean I am greatful for the cars and modes sure, but they aren't good enough to release standalone like that.

Yeah I agree considering last night I was in multiple ONLINE sessions and people were driving those 3 cars around. One guy I saw coming right out of Benny's in the Tornado, as I was going in with the Slamvan. it seems likely they'd release those sooner than April and not drag it out. I still don't get where these sources get this info other than looking through files like the Seven forums people do which also post the exact same info days before this person, other than the dates.

As a transfered player it would be a good opportunity to play the story again (hardly played SP on this account )
