A Demolition Derby... with a twist.

How about a Vehicular death match, where drivers battle it out with Armoured Sports class converted combat cars. These cars will be armed with a Free aim Minigun attached to the side of the door or an overhead rear mount. (depending on the drivers choice)

 

Other weapon attachments to these cars will be

 

Default. Minigun side or overhead attachment

RPG launcher

Fare Launchers (Counter measures)

Armour Piercing Proximity mines(limited to only 5)

Wild Card (A mysterious attachment that will have pros and cons to your vehicle in combat)

 

These cars will have the most robust Armour that can withstand any thrown projectiles thrown by one hand (yes even stickies),

 

This means that if you play this event, you can not leave your vehicle or use the weapons that are in your possession during that battle. So your car is your only offence and Defence, and if your car is found in a position where it is stuck, you can re-spawn it with that damaged it sustained before it was stuck

 

To make it fare, shooting enemies with the vehicles armaments will not end in an instant kill the armour has too be endlessly penetrated by gunfire until their vehicle explodes (for those who don't understand, it will be like shooting a player that has 3 health bars and full armour with a silent carbine rifle). So Ram, smash, grind and shoot you win.

 

At a max of 30 players, the map for this event is the entire map of Ls. So players can either clash or Run and be chased on the freeways of Ls and be turned into a burn mass of scrap metal.

 

Pick ups will be scattered through out Ls that only that can be huge game changes if used at the right time and close to your enemies. Only 4 slots reserved

 

Health: Repair the cars at 15%, so it would be wise to collect as many before returning to the battlefield

 

Beast: Your car deals a one hit elimination (kill) and its speed is increased by 25% for a short time including all weapons

 

Flipped: All controls are flipped including weapon commands and pick-ups and chat

 

Doped: All near by enemies are given blurred vision for a short time

 

Zone: Like Franklin's Ability, affects near by players too

 

Dark: Car turns invisible when activated

 

Charged: KERS for 30 seconds

 

Wild card: Random Pick up

 

Lost tread: Maximum slidey cars for near by enemies

 

All other game options are available, as you can even start this even anywhere in Ls, even on top of buildings or the military base. Even conditions are by Hosts choice, you can even set the wanted level during the battle. Even have Tanks, Jets, Buzzards and insurgents attack all players (but your cars armour will be hard to penetrate, however easy for you to take them out), You're health bar will become your cars health bar, as you can never be touched by anything on the outside, however if your car is damaged and explodes you die...

I honestly can't see the whole map of LS being open for this type of thing, Rockstar would restrict it to certain areas like they usually do.

 

30 players is a bit of a stretch too, but it could be done.

 

The thing about Jets, Buzzards, and Insurgents attacking you, well...

That is an awful idea. Some players will just run away waiting for everyone else to kill each other until there's only one weakened player left.

So you either have a short timer that will most likely mean there isn't only one player left or you have a longer one that will be a bore to wait for until finally the last guy decides to stop running away and dies/kills the other guy.

 

That is unless people respawn like in a DM, but to me it sounds like you were intending this to be more like a LTS, so I'm sorry if my assumption was wrong there.

Even then, as far as I remember DMs don't have a map limit either and you often have people running away to conserve their precious KDs.

I'd say limit the maps, but not too much, so people have some breathing space but not enough for them to run away. If the limits of the map were shown in the mini map that'd also be great, unlike LTS.

 

I like the rest of the idea though.

Its not an LTS is a vehicular TDM, so when you die you spawn a few feet from a random enemy...

But plain Demolition Derbies are just plain crashing and the (foliage system I believe) isn't as dynamic as it is in Single player...

Using various vehicles with different armor and weapon configurations would give depth to such deathmatches, as you would have to adjust your tactics to each vehicle type.

 

I like the idea - would also give the armed JB700 a new purpose.

Nope, bad idea. We don't need more PVP like this with weapons. Just a good old Demo Derby is what we need. No crappy weapon stuff. Just front engine powered derby cars. Like the best car destruction/demo derby game ever. Destruction Derby 2.
