(PS4) Deleted Settings

(Just a side note to everyone on the forums, I'm not active much on here anymore but i still love this site and want to return to it more. So i hope everyone's doing okay!)

 

But now with this on topic post...

 

I've had my PS4 for about 2 months and am really enjoying GTA Online. Although something that keeps occurring (about 6 times in the 2 months) is my settings returning to default. Control layout, audio settings, sensitivity settings, all that. It's getting quite annoying and do not know why this keeps happening. Is it after like hot patches/updates or what?

 

Has this been happening to any of you guys?

When you load up gta and it asks you to change the brightness thats the sign your settings are reset.Just close the application and restart the game your settings will be restored

Thank you for this, I never understood why it did this. Everytime this popped up I thought I lost everything lmao when all it was, was just a reset on settings.

doesnt always work for me. some days it just forces me to reset it if i want to get into the game. i've made the connection that if my internet is plugged out when i start the console it happens everytime. so now i start my router first and then start the app, close the app and start again and it lets me keep my settings.

The triggers (L2 & R2) on PS4 controllers can be very hair-trigger. I used to get this regularly and figured out it was when I was using a particular one of my 2 controllers. If I started the game and put the controller down it would effectively be the same as holding L2 & R2, which is how you make the game go through the setup again. I realised that if I held the controller so it wasn't sat down, or used my other controller then it wouldn't happen.

Don't know what he's talking about with controllers but for me this happens only when I close the app or turn the ps4 off without going back to story mode. So to save time and headaches I just switch to any character, wait to see the save icon then close.

 

If you have a game save with your control options you can also load your last save slot, NOT auto save, and can load online that way as well with your options intact.

I hope Rockstar fix this. I have the same problem too, specially after updates. This last update caused me to lose a car, and I'm not getting it back from Rockstar.
