GTA V taking 8 hours

So i have an xbox 360 and i went on the xbox store to buy GTA V, and it took about 3-3.5 hours to install first. Then after that i went to play the game and it has been on the screen that switches between pictures and it says "downloading..." In the bottom right corner. It has been on that for about 8 hours. Anyone know how i can fix that?

Well now its been almost 10 whole hours total and it wont allow me to play

Is it because i didnt buy the disc and i downloaded it from the xbox store?

I would wait it out-- It took about 12 hours to download and install on my PS4-- I don't recall if it was on the cycling picture screen-- this would be the screen showing when it is installed and is then downloading and installing patches/updates..

 

Do you recall how much disk space you had on the xbox?

 

If after 18-24 hours it has not finished-- I would assume it is "hung up"-- I am not sure how to proceed (never owned an xbox) to complete the installation.

 

I am unsure if the patches are hosted by xbox or from rockstar games-- if from rockstar, they are notorius for being slow/laggy

I had it downloading overnight and it was downloading for about 15 hours total and didnt work. I have downloaded 3 of the 4 install packs but the 4th one keeps cancelling. I think i have to download all of the install packs before it will let me play. But im not too sure

So it just let me download the final install pack so we will see if it downloads the game now

Update: it has been about 24 hours of downloading everything and it still hasnt let me play
