Switch
I buy used clothes from local the red cross and others. I spend at least 60 dollars a month on that and the money goes to charity. That's pretty much it. Yes the clothes is more expensive now because of hipsters , but i buy it because it's still cheaper than normal stores. Crazyeighties
I used to buy a sh*t ton of silicone wristbands with the profit going directly to a foundation dedicated to children with cancer. A couple in my town that lost their 7 year old son to cancer some years back are together with some of their friend the ones that leads this campaign. Just 5 days ago, they made a huge open-air concert with the profit from the ticket sale going directly to the foundation. I wish I could've attended it, but the ticket was honestly too expensive and my wallet too light. where do you live, I'm willing to bet I know the charity your talking about
Quadro
When giving to charity - be sure to check out how much money actually makes it to your cause. Last Christmas, the Mrs and I helped out an initiative that created care packages for the homeless along with a small present and gave that out to the homeless community. The effort put in by various people was directly received from people in need unlike most of other charity related activities. I donate $70 per month to a Cerebral Palsy foundation although only 3/4 of the money actually goes to research. Charity is a difficult thing. But people need help. People like us are in the position to help, whether it be donating time or donating actual money, it all helps.
blitz
I used to do a lot of volunteer work through school for extracurriculars. The biggest one was probably volunteering for this NGO that builds houses in the poorest parts of Peru. And I mean physically building the houses. I did that for 4 years. Loads of fun, huge eye opener.

Loads of fun, huge eye opener. this is the only real charity work IMO, ^^^^^^ if you give money.... most places steal it for themselves....if i'm donating $10 to cancer research and only $6 of it goes into cancer research... and the rest goes in someone wallet... i can't support that sh*t.. and i don't care what excuses people have to justify it... take susan g komen for example.. she's legit a millionaire.. because of people giving her money for cancer research... i'll say it again... SHE'S A MILLIONAIRE BECAUSE SHE COLLECTS MONEY FOR CHARITY.. she's not a good person she's f*cking scum.. that isn't charity work it's a job or better yet a SCAM.... in b4 people justify it.... I've got a more contentious question: Do you give money to panhandlers, and why or why not? for me it's a case by case basis.. if they ask ?(generally) Nope, if they simply have a sign asking while sitting their minding their own business.. and i have change in my pocket that i don't mind parting with...i'll do it .. i just hate people directly asking me.. seems rude.. well the ways people have asked me in the past seemed rude.. it's not like i owe them anything.. what i will do though is give money to buskers.. like this dude playing a flute outside the cricket world cup.. i gave him a few dollars because the music sounded good and it gave everyone a pleasant way to leave the ground, plus his super mario suit was cool and he had a cool blue light with him.. this clearly wasn't a dude who needed money.. but like i said.. he was giving people something nice without demanding anything for it (you can easily ignore his change tin)... so i can respect that... same thing goes for buskers in general, as long as it's not to forced and they seem happy enough to keep playing regardless of how much/ little they are making... they are entertaining people and bringing nice vibes into the world.. i respect that and will reward it... blitz and Quadro
Coleco
I donate to St. John Ambulance (albeit a very small amount given my own limited income) and give clothes to Cancer Research UK. Quadro

Mister Pink
I helped organise a cake-sale in work. We bake cakes as well as the job throwing in funding for proper bakery stuff too. With the money raised, we donated it to a local homeless charity. I know someone who was volunteering at the refugee camps in France near Calais. He said the misuse and misappropriation of funds was rife. There was a sort of sanctimonious battle and a battle to earn government-subsidized contracts there that caused conflict. I prefer to donate locally even if it's euro for the homeless or donated food. Edited June 27, 2016 by Mister Pink RUBBΣR░J♢HNNY (スオッ)

Fooking Rekt
I spend nothing on charity. Most of it goes to rich people anyways. And most homeless people aren't homeless. Edited June 27, 2016 by Fooking Rekt

Absurdity
Well I pay my taxes which goes towards maintaining a large social system that keeps a lot of charity cases alive.
