When do you think GTA Online will officially die?

It's been a couple of years since release and the game is getting old already, servers are already starting to lack, GTA Online is definitely dying, the updates aren't even THAT fun, it's just a way to get money to get cars you'll barely drive, i find these latest missions as boring as GTA 1 missions.

 

So is GTA Online gonna die soon, are we gonna get another GTA sequel or just more DLC?

it's going to be 3 years since it came out. I would say around when the next R* game comes out like Red Dead. A lot of people would probably jump into the next game. Of course there will be some jumps back and forth between both games. But overall, everyone will jump into the next game.

I would think whenever the next gta gets announced, technical support would focus on the new one...

 

 

On a side note if I was R* I would just concentrate on GTA Online, it would be more economical not having to worry about story writers and voice actors. Just add more to the map, vehicles, contact missions, etc...

It's gonna die as long as R* keeps patching the harmless glitching, and leaving shx like creator mode in mp glitching. I know Alot of players that played solely for having nice cars and unique ain't jobs, that's gone, and so are a hand full of those players.

GTA Online is far from dying. Not even f*cking close. GTA IV's multiplayer is also still live as well.

 

But if you want a real answer. GTA Online is gonna continue along with every GTA Title in the future.

 

But there will possibly be a hiatus of online content in between non GTA Titles.

 

But GTA Online will never truly die.

Even after they stop the online DLC, it will have a sizeable community until GTA 6 comes out. I can't see Rockstar shutting down the cloud servers for it until then anyway. Even the release of a new Red Dead won't kill it.

Because everyone secretly (or not so secretly) wishes for the end of this abomination, which only exists to appease and pander to the worst and most immature scum of society.

 

If GTA0 was designed for proper balance and for any sort of activity other than depraved twitch shooting PvP, and exploiting of glitches, artifacts and imbalances, people would not wish so strongly for its demise, but rather would be happy to see it continue. However, Rockstar does not know how to design an online game like that.

Rockstar will support GTA Online until the release of GTA VI is imminent.

 

GTA is the bread-n-butter foundation of Rockstar's revenue and they'll do everything they can to keep interest in the game alive until the next one. Currently that takes the form of new DLC, event weeks/cash/RP bonuses, and whatever marketing crap they're up to day to day.

 

This will continue indefinitely until hype in the next Grand Theft Auto can successfully sustain current levels of interest in the game, if not grow them. This would be when the GTA VI trailer is dropped, when it's announced, or maybe when its on the shelves, no one really knows. Long story short, it's sometime when the next GTA is a physical reality or close to it.

 

It looks bad for business if the "continuously expanding" GTA Online withers out before then. So at the bare minimum, Online will be a placeholder and updated if only to save face. The better question you should ask is: when will Rockstar release GTA VI?
