As well as people with real world stuff to deal with. Sometimes a man just has to leave the Ps4 without prior notice ya know?

Like if something just came up and it required your attention like your job, school, family emergency, life, etc.

Really, a legitimate need to quit the game? How often does this actually happen? 98% of GTA0 players have no job, no school, and the only possible family emergency that could affect them is if they had to yell upstairs to their mom to go to the grocery immediately, because they are out of Cheetos.

:p

Like every day for me lol.

Absolutely, punish them more.

Deliver EMP is a pain in the neck to get to if no-one trip skips. Having a player quit just as we get there or at the first restart, if there is one, is seriously inconsiderate and just a massive waste of peoples time. Players should be forced to stay with any Heist/Set-up for at least three restarts, no leaving at the restart screen either or it's a bad sport point, and a big one at that. Jobs that don't affect other players, such as races should be exempt, but any job that relies on teams or Co-Op should have a much more serious penalty if someone quits and it fails or ruins the job.

I used to think this until I joined a few where players were so incompetent and soft they wouldn't figure out how to get through the mission in a full day. I've joined others where trolls intentionally just dick around while everyone else does all the work then intentionally fail at the last minute. Imagine being somehow forced to continue playing under these conditions where there is no hope of success?

Ditto if someone is so grossly outmatched in a PvP or race mode. Who really wants to stick around to be your punching bag for 10 minutes when they see the writing on the wall that things are totally unbalanced?

People who care about seriously playing ANY particular game modes need to aggressively shop around to find like minded and skill matched players so they can rely on inviting people they know will participate and function to their expectations. Alternately some sort of ranking system built into matchmaking might work to help in skill matching. If you're a hardened veteran to these PvP modes you shouldn't be playing with a bunch of single digit levels who are just trying random stuff around the map. This isn't going to be any fun for anybody involved.

Yeah they should just make you unable to leave unless you close the whole game. Right now it's too easy to quit just pull up your phone or leave threw the start menu :/

I suppose they could implement a system like Halo 5's. If you quit too many times in a certain time frame, you get a 1 day ban. I believe it may go to a week if you keep quitting too.

No, Rockstar doesn't need to punish anyone. Its the way they designed this game and most of the players are fine with it. I played with randoms and never had problems. Maybe its you people who need to git gud at heists.

I'm on about pvp, but thanks for giving us the results of the survey you must have held, I never knew that most players were fine with it but you saying so is all the evidence I need.

honestly same is the case with most games...

i think the biggest isue is that in no single job someone can just join while the job is running

realy, how bad woud it be if new players woud suddenly join a deathmatch, or even a race(if they do spawn in the middle somewhere and are 10 seconds "ghosted") or a mission ?

You haven't asked 100% of the GTA community either though, or have you?

Besides, this is the biggest chunk of the community we'll get to ask, and (being a site dedicated to the game) will have people who are passionate about it.

I'm not saying that, I'm thanking you for asking the whole gta community individually and coming back with your results.

I only rage quit when I'm having a sh*tty day/attitude and I get put in a TDM/AM full of try hards. I'm not gonna play with people like that. If it's an even, enjoyable game then I have no problem losing. It sucks, but it's fair. Punishing people for leaving a game is quite pointless. Especially with all of the connection problems that plague the game.

I vote no. Nothin would be worse than having to play seven rounds of RPG VS./ with a bunch of immature or squeaking or even tryhard assholes. Sorry, but nope, I like my BS rating system pretty much as is.

This! I also tend to leave if I'm in a sh*tty mood regardless if I'm winning or losing  We all have good days and bad days

Voted Yes. I rarely leave Free Roam, these days less than ever, but this is a pan-gaming issue that's always pissed me off! I'm not sure how much could be done about in GTAO, sadly... as we've seen for years, quickly closing the GTAV application often works as a way to avoid the consequences of failure in things like Criminal Mastermind attempts, CEO sales missions, etc... As long as there's a way to get out before the game can communicate with R*'s server (and there always will be,) poor sports will always have an easy out.

People leave Power Play because it is a POS spawn kill fest that is no fun at all. Tried it last night and thought it was a mess. It's a KD killer for sure so I'm sure most will avoid it at all costs, lol.

Only Adversary mode worth a darn is Hunting Pack.

Ragequitting need to stop, but this would probably screw over people with connection issues.

Same as with "Slasher" in reality most people are afraid to play that because of their minimalistic chances when being hunted and K/D ratio concerns obivously. That's why I am not so supportive of all this Pvp stuff beein added to the game. It always seems to die out pretty quickly and is just not worth the time and effort to sit trough endless loading screens just so when you finally get a game and are on the winning side, everyone quits.

That's a little different though. I don't suppose your child is going to consistently cry every time you're about to lose a match?

Point taken though, and a very valid one.

Better learn to love it the way that it is, because there's almost zero chance r* will change it at this point.

I have no sympathy for players with connection issues. They are selfish; they know their connection is not stable, yet will engage in competitive play with fingers crossed, only to lag out and ruin the experience of other players. Whether it be them causing a team to be one man short, or taking away from the oppositions winnings, players with crappy connections are no better than rage quitters when it comes to PvP. Don't even get me started when it comes to Fighting Games...

It is very annoying when people leave i totally agree it's behond frustrating.

There should be a limit where If you leave in the middle of Missions Heists etc more than a few times you should be in some sort of time out which you aren't aloud to play any multiplayer for a duration of time..

But yet again maybe people just wanna leave and do Their own thing.

R* doesn't need to do sh*t people can leave when they want it's their choice.

It ruins the game, why quit just because things aren't going your way, I had a bad game today, we lost 4-1, I stayed for the whole playlist, by the final match it was just me and one other guy vs 4 people. I didn't leave because I'm not completely upset if something isn't going well, I can understand leaving if it's ridiculous spawn killing, but it wasn't that bad even for gta standards.

I'm not saying force them to play but some penalty should be put in place (that actually does something) for those who leave the game.

If it's something irl then I don't think you would care about the penalty.

If it's connection, as people have said, they should have a system that detects leaving and disconnecting.

If it's just because you're quitting because you aren't winning, you should be punished, you're rewarded for staying even if you lose.

A lot of games have things like this.

I played all my heist setups and missions with random, no problems

this topic is based more on pvp, and personally I only do heists with friends but a lot of people have problems with randoms in heists.

But yeah I've seen how people in Power Play just keep rage quiting when things aren't going their way.

It's horrible, I sometimes let people get kills on me, or try getting them to win a round just so they won't leave.
