Hello guys as title says I would like to know if these two versions are the same or one is better than the other since i would like to buy this game. Tecnically the RSC version should consume less ram cause there is no steam client running up. What about modding and playing offline, are They the same? Thanks in advance for help

More people prefer the Steam version because a lot of users use Steam and Steam features. Most of the reason why people buy the RSSC version is because they got it off a shifty key reseller website. Right now GTA V is $45 on Steam, a long with 28,000+ other games on sale.

Modding is the same for both versions.

Steam uses 70mb of RAM. If you're concerned about using 70mb, then perhaps this isn't a game your PC should be running.

Steam version will also download a lot quicker, same with updates which are actually smaller in size thanks to Steams great compression.

Pretty much what crysatl3f said. Also you don't have to go to verry slow Rockstar servers. There is this steam overlay too :)

Alright pretty detailed answers here, thank you very much! I have one last question regarding the offline mode. Can it be used for an undefined period of time? Correct me if i'm wrong but i believe i read a long time ago that you needed to log in the social club once every week. Is that true or maybe has that been changed?

Yes there is periodic title validation, not sure how long it is though.

I for one, hate the social club installer. I regret buying it via Rockstar and wish I had bought it thru steam. The downloader is complete sh*t.

Hmm, I can't speak for other, especially not for the guy above^. I have the DVD version and I never had a problem with it since I got

on release date. And about the performance, I've never have any performance problems with the SC running in the background

and I don't have other problems with. You of course have to validate it in periodic time.

I also have steam but I truely dislike that sh*t. I don't want to have multiple programs requiring to play the games I want,

of course GTAV needs SC but that's no difference because GTAIV needed SC too. But once you are in the game,

you can alt+tab to desktop, rightclick on taskbar and close the process GTAVLauncer.EXE so you closed SC.

Then what do you do to play any other games you can't get on DVD? I said up top there is currently 28,000 games on sale in the Steam store, so what do you do when you want games other than installing a program for every single game you want rather than having Steam and your games with you where ever you go.

I have 618 games on Steam, and Steam is all I need. Your whole anti-Steam argument is very silly.

Then I get them via a different way then. However, the games I WANT are on DVD anyway, so no problem for me.

And "whole anti-steam argument very silly"? What the hell are you talking about, dude?? I simply dislike steam, and it's simply my OWN opinion.

618 games on steam? Feeling lucky, punk? If you like steam, sure, I don't have a problem with that. Don't hump me for not liking steam.

You said you don't like using multiple programs for each game, yet you use and install games from DVD's which each require separate installs and separate programs... Do you not understand? I have 618 games on 1 program. Steam.

My games are not the most recent ones. Only GTAV and The Cars requires programs running, other games don't have them.

I'm so worried about periodic internet verfications, I do use to travel a lot and not being able to play the sp would totally suck. Is there a way to bypass that? Also does this SC launcher runs on steam copies too?

I don't think it's possible(legitimately anyway) to bypass the verification, sorry :c Steam also installs the RSSC launcher automatically.

Thanks for the answer! Is there a way to know how much time must pass before it does ask for verification? I tryed searching around but info is pretty vague

I found some discussions on steam where people claimed that by putting this command in steam "-scOfflineOnly" you could play the game totally offline. Anyone knows if this does work please?
