Insurgent Has no Armor

For such an apparent armored vehicle, why is it so easy to get shot out of the insurgent? One shot from any gun and boom, you are dead. Insurgent seriously serves zero purpose in this game

Even driving full speed I still get shot out with only a couple shots.

imagine if it was explosive resistant like it already is and also bulletproof like kuruma. hell no.

If you in addition couldn't shoot out of it at all it would become my most driven vehicle.

>driving with window facing the enemy

>playing in auto-aim lobbies

Of course it'll be easy to get shot out of

because balance.

You will survive the Hydra griefers' cannon.

You can survive the Hydra griefers' missiles 6 times. (3 "cycles" since if shoots 2 missiles at a 0.1s interval)

If it was completely bulletproof then it would be a noob mobile :colgate:

Insurgent for explosive protection and the Karuma for substantial bullet protection.

don't you mean the glass aren't bullet resistant ? of course not , if you want explosive-resistant vehicle that has bullet-resistant glass ( nor has no windows at all ) , go for the new armored vehicles " executive and other criminals " update and for no windows , Rhino Tank

Too funny if anything the insurgent is one of if not the best vehicle in the game in my opinion.

Jet resistant(to a degree)

Tank wrecker

Explosive proof(to a degree)

Good speed

Cons

Windows are not bullet proof

Can be outrun

Classic GTAF post.

You are getting shot thru the window guy... try ducking... or using strategy... or buying a car with BP windows. You are in an anti-explosives vehicle, not a bullet-proof one.

Basically, you are doing it wrong. I can get 20-50 kills on average in an Insurgent before someone can shoot me or blow me up, and i usually just get a new one or repair before then. You have been a member since '08... step your game up.

people on here are so fast to blame the weapon/tool/mission/vehicle etc. But 99% of the time it's the person using it that's the problem not the other way round

It's stronger than a tank ... Cut it some slack.

If you're in an Insurgent Pickup, just stay far back from your enemies anyway - then they can't auto aim you, and your gunner can take them down without much trouble.

If you're in an Insurgent Pickup, just stay far back from your enemies anyway - then they can't auto aim you, and your gunner can take them down without much trouble.

its not necessarily stronger than a tank , a small difference

minigun = 1180 ( rhino - rear ) 602 ( insurgent - front )

grenade launcher = 4 rounds ( rhino - rear ) 3 rounds ( insurgent )

RPG = 4 rockets ( rhino - rear ) 3 rockets ( insurgent )

technical MG = about 45 sec ( rhino - rear ) about 39 sec ( insurgent - front )
insurgent MG = about 40 sec ( rhino - rear ) about 16 sec ( insurgent - front )
rhino tank cannon = 4 rounds ( rhino - rear ) 2 rounds ( insurgent )

insurgent is agiler than a Rhino Tank and cannot be airlifted ( mitigating the insurance problem when dropped to the ocean ) . but having a normal engine makes it share same weakness as common cars : a sustained shots or burning the front engine can disable it or potentially destroying the engine ( unlike tank , where the engine was behind and complete immunity to fire ) . the size also makes it easy to rollover , unlike the Rhino tank ( where the width greatly reduce the rollover)

police riot/stockade , however , are more resilient to sticky bombs and grenades than an insurgent/tank . it took about 9 batch of sticky bomb to blew up police riot/stockade but still falter when get hit by rockets , rhino's cannon and fighter jet's weaponry . other than that , these vans gives access 2 handed weapons ( both back passenger or 2 of them hanging ) , it completely protect the passenger in the back ( until they start aiming ) and the front windows are narrower than insurgent . the weakness is lacking BP tires , slower and cannot defeat insurgent's ramming power

- the easiest way to get police riot is borrow one from lester " locate car " , not only getting the van , also gives you free 100% armor once per van

- though taken out of the random armored car event , securicar may spawn during CEO cargo buying sequence , it must be delivered to the warehouse

Put your bullet proof helmet on, spam your snacks and drive through any warzone you want. Brave man dissing the insurgent on here, it's still easily the most useful and safe vehicle in the game.

Frankly, I wouldn't mind that as an upgrade. I'd just have two Insurgents - One without the upgrade for the usual shooting war, and the other as an invincible A-to-B-point-without-passive mobile.

Of course, it'd make people's eyebrows raise less if the Insurgent's windows can be upgraded to the Exec armored car's bullet-resistant windows, because apparently we make executive protection vehicles with them and a war-fighting AFV without them.

IamCourtney

If you're worried primarily about explosives you take an Insurgent and accept vulnerability to bullets.

If you're worried primarily about bullets you take a Kuruma and accept vulnerability to explosives.

If you're worried about both you take a VIP Armored vehicle and accept the less-than-total protection in each category in exchange for some all-around coverage.

It's an example of somewhere Rockstar have pretty much gotten the balance right.

This. This is also why all 4 of my Insurgents have the 100% LSC armor upgrade to begin with. Just so it can take a tiny bit more. A full bp conversion would be sweet.

Oooh they already did, just read today's news.

Well, they have to balance the game somehow.

Armour only protects body work, deformation.

Atleast what I've seen.

People can still shoot you and blow you up with same amount of missiles.

I avoid insurgents now...

Last time i came into a scuffle with one I attempted to blow it up but 3-4 stickies obviously doesnt work...

So i would say it's pretty useful.

Windows are non-bulletproof for balance reasons, realism be damned. With bulletproof windows (or even bullet-resistant windows) that thing would be monstrously overpowered. If you don't want to get shot out of it - be smart, stop trying to run people over.
