I just feel like there are a few things (small changes) that could make this update much more enjoyable for lone wolves.

First of all, being limited to carrying one crate per person makes it a drag if you're the only person there. Then you're going back and forth over and over. You have to make the same journey 3 times, and well, it's just a drag.

XczvrIZ.gif

I get it. They're trying to get people to play together. Which I guess is good. Ish. But it feels like you're missing out quite a lot just for not having 2 friends both always there at the same time as you.

We should be able to carry all the crates on one person. Or at least let us pack up the crates into a vehicle. They could even make it that some vehicles have a higher capacity than others (could give more use to trucks, and big helicopters like the Annihilator).

Also, what about letting us use the missile jammer on our own? They could easily have put it as an option in the weapon selection, so why do we need another player with us to use what should be as simple as switching "weapon" and pressing A/X?

I don't want to come across as I'm b*tching too much. I've enjoyed the update, loved that we can get Cargobobs again, like the FMJ, and having a new way of getting money is refreshing. But I feel like the two suggestions above would make it a lot better for those of us who tend to play solo.

I do agree that larger vehicles should be able to hold more.

What if most of your friends are people you know from reality; not the game?

Not only that, but being on Xbox One, I'm not able to meet up with many of the people here, so that option goes out the window in a hurry.

Besides, if I want to play by myself, who are you to judge? Should I gather all my friends when I go to the toilet too? Everything's got to have friends right?

Doing multiple runs for buy missions can kind of drag but I understand why Rockstar did it to encourage playing together.

That said, the lack of incentives for associates makes that point pretty moot unless they're willing friends or foolish noobs. They really need to crank up the wage payouts and/or add payments for buy missions for associates for it to really be worth it for them.

I'm not so sure on the ability to carry multiple crates by yourself but I can agree with giving bigger vehicles more functionality for having a carrying capacity for different types of body styles since a good majority of pegasus vehicles are useless/never used in freeroam considering all the armored/military vehicles that infest public lobbies.

I'm definitely in complete agreement about the self-usable jammer though. It's already difficult defending a slow moving Cuban 800 or Titan without being down an associate who's only job is to flip the switch on the jammer rather than escorting in a jet/heli.

Also I had a good laugh at that gif/helicopter drawing.

I have friends, but they're all doing CEO work, too.

Plus one lucky d-bag in a jet can vaporize $2.22M (and several hours of work) even if a CEO has 3 associates.

The risk/benefit and time restraints make lone-wolfing the logical choice over public lobbies

Exactly. And to be honest, I can't imagine a more boring role than just being there to press one button when you're told to.

It's a bit like having to have another person there to reload your gun for you - it's simple process that really doesn't warrant taking up an entire role for a player.

I can definitely get why you wouldn't want one person on foot carrying all the crates, though it would be great to at least pack them up in the back of a truck/big helicopter. Plus as it is, the Buzzard completely dominates CEO work - letting the big ones carry more would give them some purpose in this update.

I think they should let us carry more than one crate. Besides, no one really wants to be an associate that helps because of the meager pay. The rest of my GTA "friends" are doing CEO work theirselves or gave up on this update.

I wish we could use the Brickade to carry all the crates at once

That would be great, and it would give me a reason to call it off my pegasus list.

Or even being able to put all or our cargo - in a cargobob

The one crate per person thing reminds me of a few contact missions where the same thing happens when retrieving multiple packages (I think Lost My Mind was one? Have to check to be sure). Not a big issue when several of you are on the ground, but it's annoying if you are alone or have people giving you air cover who now have to land just to pick up a crate or two because the game wouldn't let you put all three in a vehicle with one driver.

For a bit of amusing contrast to the above, the other night I coerced a couple friends into helping me deliver crates because I was worried about random people joining and hadn't delivered a full shipment before. The end result? I drove a slow tugboat for ten minutes with no players joining the session and no NPCs even spawning to attack me at all... while two of my friends got bored and started trying to shoot each other down with their Buzzards' guns, and the third one started doing donut flips in his Hydra until he crashed into the water.

Most of my real-world friends don't play GTA Online often anymore, so I've had to track down people online through the game or the internet to keep a steady roster of people I can play with.

isn't that what the single crates are for? lone wolfing?

I do those at will in public and I rarely get disturbed.

Carry more than one crate on person - Tbh, I can understand why they have this restriction.

Put crates in a vehicle or aircraft, and have the amount vary - I agree, plus you'd think R* would want to give more purpose to the Pegasus vehicles.

Ability to use missile jammer on your own - Hell yes.

Fair enough, but you're the leader of a crew. I'm a lone wolf helisexual guy.

Doesn't mean I don't want to make things big though (and I did earlier today). I don't know, it just feels like a lazy way of putting a dampener on things for solo players.

Also, like AmyVinewood said, a Cargobob carrying cargo is only natural right?

Agreed. At that point you might as well just have the person that was going to be the jammer activator in a Lazer/Hydra anyway since...

1. People can't use their homing launcher if they're dead (jet strafed into oblivion)

2. The jammer won't protect you from the real threat: Enemy Jets (more specifically their cannons, more so if they dive bomb/passive abuse)

As others have mentioned, I would love to have a reason to use the bigger vehicles I've bought outside of a friends or invite only sessions.

Imagine a world where someone utters the statement "Hold up, let me get my Annihilator" without a hint of sarcasm, barring the reinstatement of its explosive miniguns from TLaD and TBoGT. Beautiful.

Look at all that space too:

rvHsXFC.jpg?1

I mean, can't we put just one crate or two in the back there?

And the Cargobob. I mean, Cargobob. If the name's not enough, look at its description:

"It's the flying bus you always dreamed of! The Cargobob is a twin-engine, tandem-rotor tactical transport helicopter that you'll recognize from the melodramatic airlift scene of every war film ever made. Maximum airspeed of 200 mph with a normal cruise speed of 150 mph, depending on how many pounds of cocaine or prisoners of war you have in the back. "

Just feels like a lot of vehicles would have much more purpose this way.

GTA 3 had this mechanic I believe.. The more packages you had, the slower you ran and drove.

I'd be down for this being worked in instead of what we have now.

Red Dead had a similar thing in grab the bag and gold rush modes too. You could carry two bags, but you'd run slowly.

What is it with you people not having friends?

ikr?

i mean, people who can't afford current-gen (especially gaming pc's), who have jobs or education, who aren't interested in gta, or live in silly timezones when it comes to internet people, are totally not friends - they're all totally fake! :sarcasm:

On a less sarcastic note, I'd say no for carrying more than one crate only to satisfy the people who think that doing the crate stuff solo is not challenging enough - maybe if it would be controlled by the amount of players (say, 0-7: 1 at a time, 8-15: 2 at a time, 16-30: 3 at a time), I'd agree on that, too. Voted yes for the jammer, though. We can use phones in planes, so how much of a hassle would pressing a "In case of getting locked on to" button would be?

I'm fully with you on the cargobob point. first time I tried picking up the target truck and failed with my cargobob I thought I was just rusty. very sad they disabled it.

however the one crate per person thing makes sense to me... 4 people doing something should be more efficient than one person.

and my friend, I too know how it is to lone wolf this game (tho not on current gen) and despite being a crew leader I only get to play with my crew maybe once a week due to timezones n crap... when I play alone in the middle of the night I solo it...

I get what you are saying, however I just don't think R* will do anything, as it seems to me to be carefully thought out. they want us to play together lol

Actually the Brickade can theoretically do 37 crates (see a 111 sale using 3 brickades)

Oh and yes i do agree that normal vehicles (super cars aside) should be able to hold one in the trunk and I would love to be able to use a titan

HEY!!!!! dont tell me I cant use a titan, im too much of a risky pilot not to try to land it anywhere

Also i can go either way on the jammer (lets just keep it way from any jets) though Personally I'd prefer it on either the D-Pad or on a 2 button press (say both analogs or both triggers)

Oh yeah I don't think they'll do anything. If they do, chances are this won't have influenced them much either lol.

I don't know - that back and forth thing with the crates just feels like such a drag to me, and it seems like the perfect way to have certain vehicles actually have a point.

I would actually use an Annihilator over the Buzzard if it would only just let me stick a crate or two in the back. Same with the Cargobob.

As it is, the Buzzard is basically the only helicopter for CEO stuff. The others don't have higher capacity, they can't be summoned up by your feet, just feels like they need something going for them.

What is it with you people not having friends?

I have two sets of friends, those who left GTA Online for other games and an another set who are stuck on old gen or went to PC/Xbone.

I've started being alone since next gen first existed, and honestly, I can't imagine myself playing any other way because I kinda like it.

the least they could do is make the brickade capable of holding multiple crates during pick up missions...

i mean you can stash a 111 crates into 2-3 brickades for selling missions but you cant pickup more then 1 crate at a time while driving the thing? is ridiculous!

on top of that it would give people a good reason to fork out 1.1million to buy the thing.

I'm saying it is easy to make friends online in this game.

And if you help them, they will help you.

I'm just amazed that people go this far out of their way to be "safe" (or risky depending on how you look at it) when this whole damn thing is supposed to be based on teamwork.

I find it baffling.

At any given time, I have at least 25 friends online playing Grand Theft Auto Online.

Take some initiative.

Add people.

It is easy to have a friends list full of people playing this game.

Unless you're a stuck up, lonely, holier than though, delusional prick.

Seriously. It's easy to find online friends to play this game with. You guys are ridiculous.
