No, don't be a dumbass, if you already have progress and money in your hand in your current character then don't waste it because of non-existent pride issues, no one would want to play with low levels in heists and jets will swarm you forever.

I play with low levels on heists. What'cha talking about, Willis?Higher tendency of f*cking up the heist, what else?

You've missed out on some of the best money making opportunities (double money heists and VIP work) but it's never too late, after all most items are cosmetic and can be completely ignored. You can choose to have fun with friends or you can grind for flashy cars it's your choice, I've had more than my money's worth from this game.

Higher tendency of f*cking up the heist, what else?level only indicates health and weapon availability. It most certainly is no indication of skill. Maybe your crew needs a heist leader who can actually LEAD.

You speak as if there's no second character slot.

I never lead because it's more profitable if I stay as a crew member, I only hit random since the crew I'm in is "mess around in freeroam" kind of crew.

Just to make things clear, if it's a low level and they have a low level of respect in a crew, then that means their account is new and thus they shouldn't be hired for heists because they overestimate their abilities, aka jump out of my kuruma just to rambo the enemies that'll turn him to mince meat.

By the way, your level indeed does indicate the level of your skill in this game, you have to be extremely ignorant to suggest otherwise.

I did both prison break and the heist with the trash trucks (both of which are the most troublesome for even high ranking players) with a level 12 on the crew. He followed directions and we only had 3 total restarts so while you throw out ignorant back handed insults I'm gonna hit you with some more knowledge.

1) you don't make more being a crew member. ( that statement was just bass akwards which signifies your low level of expertise)

2) if you have a good heist leader and good crew your level is irrelevant. (fact supported by actually successfully completing heists with low levels)

Even if you carry the entire team on your back, if one of them dies or wrecks their given objective (and it's always the low level) we have to start all over again.

Tell me, can you stop the Buzzards from destroying the Valkyrie in the Humane Raid if the low level given the Gunner position absolutely sucks at shooting? Can you escape the prison if the low level prisoner always runs out of cover and into the open just to get peppered by bullets? Can you make it to the Kuruma Safehouse if the low level would rather run out gun blazing than staying inside the bank with the cash?

I'm good enough to carry my team on things I can solo like Pacific - Signal, you on the other hand aren't good enough to think properly before you speak.

1) if a heist still gets messed up by the same player three times in a row, I'll leave for a better heist crew to play with, that's what I meant by making it more profitable for crew members because I'm not tied to a heist that no one besides me is competent enough to finish it. This signifies how bad you can read my details, you'd rather insult than make a point.

2) good for you and that low level buddy of yours, and thanks for telling me some common sense.

He's also a little spicy. Don't mind him.Ah. Gotcha.

EDIT: It's not fair to leave questions hanging, so:

HLR - yes. Land the helicopter, use RPG/Homing thingos.

PB - yes. The Officer is supposed to do something besides cower behind cover.

PS - yes. Shortcut, get in Lectro, steal cop car. Of course this requires an actual getaway driver, not someone who merely knows where to go, but hey, I'm the best at it.

Then again all I play are heists and missions, so what do I know about playing heists? Silly me. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

No, if you've already been there and completed most of it, I'd transfer an account from old gen to current gen with everything unlocked ready to go.

From scratch I would say no

I started a new 2nd character b4 ff update and I was level 21 now after a few crates I'm level 42 : D but I'm still rich

I started a new character recently. I like the aspect of the gameplay when the character is new and weak. Just regular cars, no upgrades, no tank abilities, really low ammo cap, no money - it does feel like being a new thug in town. Even the introduction cinematics are pretty cool.

But then going through the notions of the game... Meh. I wouldn't want to go through that again. It's nice to be able to switch between a seasoned and new characters, but building up the newbie seems like a nightmare now.

Back then everyone was new. We got 500k free, we all started more or less the same rank, there's no huge level disparity yet and everyone was still going up the ranks.

Now, Rockstar revamped everything to cater more to the day ones who by now are stupid rich, and newbies sorta get screwed because of all the patches and updates not really meant for them.

That's why it feels horrible making a new one now as compared to back then.

No such thing as starting from scratch.

Here is how I look at it...with every new update it means a new game. Don't worry about the previous updates and all the expensive stuff that came with it. Worry only about the latest update which is Finance and Felony. Every update is like a new game to me since this game has tons of updates. So the game you are playing or bought again isn't GTA. It's Finance and Felony.

With that said and we're talking about Finance and Felony here:

-Get a car and become a bodyguard. Help grind, do events, missions and become an Associate.

-Save the money and get yourself an office which will allow you to buy warehouses.

-Do VIP/CEO work to get you cash flow to buy crates. Just grind with the crates or help others do it

There is no such thing as catch up in this game.

I started a new character and I don't even buy the old stuff. I just spend my money on Finance and Felony items, cars and clothes.

Look at it as a new game and play the new stuff. Catching up would mean owning everything up to this point.

It would take you the better part of that year and a half to amass the in-game content that most of the forum goers are privy to. Don't bother if you're not all in. You'll just be food for the griefers.

Yeah why not. You can get all the noobie dlc weapons real quick. Be killing all the hapless by the end of a session.

Are you in it for the journey, or the destination?

This is probably the only factor to consider.

Many of my friends started a second character with the latest DLC just because RP is so easy to come by when you're doing it. They're in the LV 50 range already and we're having as much fun as ever.

LOL. That's about what I've spent and at least half of that is rubbish bought just for the sake of spending money. Gold jet, gold helicopter, yacht, both cargobobs, as many properties as I can own, weapons I never use and never will, every Benny's car, almost every Pegasus vehicle, the tugboat, duplicates of cars I like just so I can have different colors, a Karuma for every garage (a pair in the las lagunas) etc. etc. etc.

I'd say for 30-40M you could own everything worth owning, shave off 10M if you can do without the yacht and another 10M if you don't want to be a CEO.

Ive started doing some of the quick jobs via the phone but to be honest ive forgotten how to really play this game. What's the best way of making cash and ranking up? Also are there any sort of story/progression missions in online ?

If you've got an absolutely stupid amount of time or some good friends with a slightly less stupid amount of time it might be worth it if you really enjoy the game. As someone who likes the game, but doesn't like dealing with assholes or trying to grind alone in an invite only, it wouldn't be worth it for me.

You remind me of a friend I hand-held through GTA online about a month ago. He knew very little and it was hard work, but enjoyable, tracking back and explaining everything.

Suddenly, after about two weeks, he'd had enough and returned to Fallout 4 and now Destiny... you're either a committed player or a casual player, and what I'm explaining is casual players tend to fade away pretty quickly because they can't cope with the sheer scale of GTA online. You sound like that casual player.

>Implying GTA Online isn't the most casual game on the market

Stop being such a douche man

OT go for it OP it's a grind but if you have a good group of friends it won't be nearly as hard as going it alone

There's a lot of content to catch up on but the journey as a new player is always the funnest. :)

CarimboHanky

personally i cant stand the rank up process...

i have been trying to rank up my second character for over 2 years now and it still level 40 because i just get bored of having to play low level missions and stuff like that.

i'd rather quit playing gta than having to rank up again.

Non Funkable Token

Just checked my previous online character and he's level 43 with 67 hours play time. Honestly didn't think it was that much haha. I already have a high end apartment and have $600,000 in the bank with my best car probably being the Audi R8 (Obey F9?). Think ive changed my mind and will just continue with this character. Thanks for all the comments, i didnt expect so many.

Wise guy. Level 43 is still pretty noobish and 600k are chump change, so is like starting from scratch but without the worst odds of it. You don't even need to save for a high end apartment, so you'll be allowed to buy an office and a warehouse in no time and start doing vip/ceo jobs whenever you want.

Enjoy the ride. You catched it at the best moment.
