It's not even fun to run away from the cops it's just a pain in the ass. They are annoying like sh*t and go after you for nothing. The only game I loved being chased by the cops was nfsmw back then, it was amazing, All those high speed chases and listening to their radio chat and imersive dynamic sound track for the chases just made it awesome. In gta 5 I just ewo everytime I get a star.

Ah okay. So I assume it's the cop that is up your ass all of a sudden when you are out running them?

Wat? I never get rear ended by them unless I stole an NPC car that is slower than remedial english but thanks for the vote of confidence brehhhhhh.

I kill a random person on Mount Chilliad in the night - police

I hit a police car with my bike - police

I touch a cop - police

I accidentally drop a piece of paper in the street - police

It's my birthday and I forget to invite a cop - police

This is more or less why I hate the police in GTA 5

You can tell when it happens.. Its like the Matrix.

All of a sudden one cop car gets possessed, goes hyper speed and drives straight into your ass. Thats a chase cops.. If he hits you, your wheels will just crank to side

If you get bored and want to see it in action.. Just don't drive that fast and allow one to get close.. You'll see it.. the cop car sort of just 'turns on'... and goes warp speed.

Oh I've seen it lots of times but I just never payed that much of attention to it until someone pointed it out on these forums. It would obviously explain why when I tried doing that myself, it would never work unless I hit one of their rear tires.

ANother weird thing is.

If no other players are in front of you... Or in your car looking forward. And IF you can drive while looking backwards.. cops won't spawn in front.

Cops are programmed to spawn in the direction of the road you are driving and looking at. Once they drive past you they despawn quite quickly and respawn again infront.

So if you drive while looking backwards you can pretty much keep all the cops that spawned infront of you, that past you behind you.. And prevent a sh*t TON of cops spawning infront of you. Because if you look behind the game does not know where to spawn the cops.. It spawns cops in the direction you look.. So look backwards and they rarely spawn.

Even works with traffic because traffic spawns to get in your way.. Look behind you while driving and less traffic spawns.. sometime none at all. Same goes with cop spawns.

I can confirm this works. I drove my bike on the highway one time and I was looking back to see if some dude was still chasing me and for some reason I decided to keep looking back and I drove for miles without a single car near me. Pretty cool.

Don't think killing an individual in mount chilliad on night can save you from cops. American cops use a system called PSS, which is some sort "live Google earth", which use satellites from the space to track everything within its range in real time, and can zoom, and has a sufficient resolution to indentify a rabbit under a grass.

Russian government is planning to a similiar system, just more advanced.

People whine too much these days

And people take comments too seriously these days.

Even if that was the case (which I never heard because I'm not American, so whatever), it would take at least some time to send a patrol, but on GTA there's always a car, even in the desert in the middle of nowhere

They must employ a lot of cops to study every square foot of land 24/7.

Cant-B-Faded

I don't really hate them.

Tips: When that one supercharged cop gets on your *ss, weave through the oncoming traffic. They get lost quickly. Really, once you find a parking garage, you're basically free.

They must also operate from Hogwarts and have a magical portal that allows them to magically appear everywhere... from out of no where. Including on highways, driving into on comming traffic while landing guns shots with pistols.

Face it dude.. Like always you make no f*ckin sense.

It does not matter if real life cops can track you with satellites... They still have to know where to look.. who to track and then actually have to get there in person to make an arrest. Show me a cop in real life that can respond to gun shots on a mountain in under 20 seconds..

Ya... good loook with that one.. MuahahaaaaaaaA..

Uhm, not exactly, no. PSS is an overarching system incorporating police reports, SST etc...Yes, they can use satellite imagery to view an area in real time (assuming a satellite is in range etc...) However, the SST (Shot Spotter Technology) is what picks up the gunshot. It is used in urban areas to identify gunshots within an area so officers can be dispatched. It is not used in the boonies where gun shots are expected from hunters, sport shooters etc... Mt Chiliad would be considered a state forest. Most state forests you can shoot and hunt in, that is one of their many purposes. A gun shot in the woods would not be an abnormal thing. On top of that, cell coverage should be minimal in these areas, so calling for police would be difficult (though text messaging may work as it relies on a different bandwidth than cellular calls)

When i first arrived in the city I mistakenly entered a car parked in a public place and people nearby started taking pictures of me, shortly afterwards I was shot in the back of the head by a police sniper in a helicopter.

Due to this event I now go out of my way to disrupt police activities such as ramming their cars while chasing an innocent citizen, on one occasion I was so incensed by the behaviour of the police I shot down sixteen helicopters , "serves you right ," i thought.

In my opinion the police in Los Santos may need to re-visit the public relation plan agreed on three years ago, then almost immediately decided to completely forgot it.

I don't have a problem with the cops in V\O, I actually like how aggressive they are ... They make things more challenging,

The thing I don't like is that they don't use the entire LEO vehicle fleet during pursuits. I'd love to the see the Buffalos & unmarked cruisers join the man hunt.

The thing that irritates me the most about them is when during a mission you've nearly lost them, WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN, A helicopter appears out of nowhere, Spot you, and You're on the run all over again.

TBH, the only time cops annoy me is when I'm in the middle of PvP in Freemode, especially when I'm battling multiple players. My favourite PvP scenario is 4-5 solo players just kicking the sh*t out of each other. Cops bring a very unwelcome 6th player into the mix. Just when you've got into a good position to take out 2-3 players without leaving yourself open the cops are on you blasting away, position lost, random spawn away from the action.

Prior to having an office, getting a vehicle impounded when I was around the top of the map, especially an Insurgent, was just annoying as fu*k. Nothing fun about it, it was just a deliberate annoyance from R*. I've had vehicles impounded when they were nowhere near my location, total BS.

Cops are fine, no need to change them.

What did you expect them to do? To give you a fu*k for killing people? Jeez
