For me anything goes as long as it's interesting to be honest, but I think a woman would be interesting, since it's not something we see covered in westerns very often.

 

Also please refrain from turning this thread into a spiral of bickering and fighting about which gender is awesomerer and such bull seen in countless other threads across the board

would be interesting to play as a righteous lawman and some lonewolf in the middle of things. down the road their paths finally cross. or, you could do the cat and mouse thing, the suspense of the two protags running into each other, go the same places, see the aftermath, follow the trail....until at some point they meet and after a fist fight/drinking contest/round of poker decide to work together since they have common goals, yet different agendas.

Yes, there were a few Female Sheriffs around then. One of which was named Emma D. Bannister.

I went with 1 protagonist, male or female (don't mind) & a slave/ex-slave. I think it would be really cool this way as you could start out the game with barely anything, being treated like dirt when suddenly an opportunity arises for you to break free of this life and start to work towards better things (both legitimately and criminally). I went with one protag. as I wasn't a big fan of the three protag. system in GTA V.

Since Bud Spencer passed away, damn, a german channel over here shows all his classic movies. that spencer/hill dynamic, that's what I'd love to see for our protags. run into each other, kind of hate each other, get stuck with each other, start to care for each other in the process etc...you know how it goes.

 

that buddy thing would be entertaining for sure. I'd still be intrigued by some more rivalry though. a darker tone throughout. inclunding seemingly good guys with questionable morals and straight up outlaws who just don't give a f*ck!

"A few female sherrifs around then" is a bit of a stretch though, lol. That very picture states that she was the first one ever, and that was in 1918, decades after the golden age of the Old West.

i would like two protags a confederate and native american. the confederate wants revenge and the south to rise again. the indian wants his land back. they team up and recruit people for their groups and launch a massive attack on the army.

I'd like to see a confederate soldier gone rogue with some kind of facial deformity (burn face, missing eye, deformed mouth). Maybe a mexican bandito, i don't know, is hard to not repeat characters in western.

 

Is always either a native, former slave or an outlaw of sorts, i can't really think in something creative.

I personally think there will only be one playable protagonist. The artwork and silhouette scene in the teaser trailer suggested that.

 

Just because the artwork depicted 7 people doesn't mean there will be multiple protagonists.

 

The guy in the middle was made bigger and centred for a reason - he is the protagonist.

 

I believe there will be a feature where you can recruit members of his gang (the other figures in the artwork) to do side missions, main missions or just free roam with. Probably similar to the system in San Andreas but more updated.

I'd like 2 or 3 protagonists. If it's 3 one of them as a famed gunslinger, another a bounty hunter and lastly a native. And if there's only gonna be one protagonist my preference is either a male famed gunslinger or else a male bounty hunter.
