Quick tip for the solo CEO grinders

So lets assume the chance for individual crates lies at 50%.

While I appreciate where you're trying to go with this, I too do not feel that 50/50 is accurate. It feels like more like 2:1 one vehicle vs. multiple trips, though I'm not keeping notes. Someone who cared could jot down their next 100 deliveries and probably get a statistically significant figure here.

The whole rest of your math is contingent on a very large assumption. Try the numbers again with 2:1 or 3:1 and see how it adds up.

Also interesting to note that all the running around shagging crates is still (even with very optimistic 6 minute average collection times) inferior to most other money grinds. So much for those saying that if left to your own devices to grind crates without jets and explosives trolls people will be raking in millions if allowed to do this in private sessions.

Alright @hispls @Gridl0k, I gonna look that ratio up by chance. Not sure if it makes much of a difference really. But hispls, just saying, other players (like jet griefers whatsoever) are really no variable here. As the topic says, it's about solo grinding. It's not too hard to have your own public lobby :). I find grinding a few rounds of pac standard more valuable too but it's not like I encounter enough reliable friends every day.

As it happens, I've been keeping track of mine lately (I wanted to see if any specific types of goods didn't get crates, as opposed to vehicles).

It's not much at all, but here they are:

animal materials:
crates: 1
Vehicles: 2
electronic goods:
crates: 1
vehicles: 1
counterfeit goods:
crates: 1
vehicles: 1
narcotics:
crates: 2
vehicles: 2
art and antiques:
crates: 1
vehicles: 3
gemstones:
crates: 2
vehicles: 1
medical supplies:
crates: 2
vehicles: 3
weapons and ammo:
crates: 0
vehicles: 3
bullion:
crates: 0
vehicles: 3
tobacco and alcohol:
crates: 2
vehicles: 0
jewelry:
Crates: 1
vehicles: 1
It's really nowhere near large enough to say though, so no one should take this as a fact.
(I'm not picking sides in any debate or anything either; it's just I happened to have these, so may as well see if someone else can use them).

I'd much rather find my own lobby and grind (non-stop) this as a CEO than have to wait in numerous lobbies and cutscenes during a Heist or Heist set-up, only to have the Heist fail or restart over and over because of someone else's mistakes.

this is by far more fool-proof and fail-proof

It is very important to the math since picking up crates one by one is a huge time vampire and very much skews your time per crate calculations, especially considering the memorable ones are out at sea or up by Sandy Shores (paratrooper ones). Like heists and setups, travel time counts for a lot of the time these activities take.

I'm not considering other players (at least hostile ones) because at that point you can predict nothing and that ignores the theme here (solo organization).

I can't get away from reliable Pac Standard people pestering me to do a few rounds with them.

bonus tip: once you get your own public lobby, and you need a break, rubber band your controller (inside your office or somewhere else inside) and make sure your controller is plugged in. I've gone out and looked at new apartments for rent for hours at a time and come back and I still have my own lobby.

I wonder if you can miss out on special items and get raided :S

getting raided is rare, only happened to me once so far, and I fought them off easy. I also time it so I don't have much stock when I go away.

and the special items come back around

Right? God bless the thieves and helicopters, they make my life so much easier.

I guess a simple solution would be for R* to let us use the Cargobob for the damn cargo vehicles, but that'd be too simple for them to do, now wouldn't it? Lol

I don't think they'll do anything lol, so I guess we have to think of some way to move more than one crate at a time.

All I can think of at the moment is somehow getting a dozer and scooping up a crate (while carrying another one yourself) - that could let you move 2 at a time. But that's so slow, it wouldn't be worth it.

Maybe getting some kind of vehicle that you could somehow push the crates onto, then Cargobob'ing that vehicle? I don't know. All I know is that a way of grabbing all 3 crates would make this a lot less tedious.

Dump truck? Or a pickup?

out of all the stuff on the newswire, this was the most interesting to me:

Stockpiling cargo can result in interest from wealthier buyers, however, Warehouses stocked with valuable cargo won’t stay a secret for long – beware of attacks from resident gangs of Los Santos attempting to steal a slice of your pie

now I'm wondering if you have to wait until after you've successfully defended against a raid, for the value of that specific warehouse to go up. with a call from your assistant saying there's a special buyer for your warehouse?

can anyone confirm thats held a warehouse for a while now and defended it atleast once?

I had it happen to a medium warehouse of mine and probably sold it right after not knowing this could be a possible mechanic in the game.

Well... i dont want to install any suspicious software on my PC.So i'm playing in public sessions with other players. But i'm using ghosting organisation glitch. So selling big cargo is not risky anymore.

@AVARITIA - what glitch is that?

I didnt sort by type of product, just # of crates:

Almost all were 3 at a time but I did a little bit of double crate buys.

2 Crates at a time:

6 needed multiple trips

13 needed only one

3 Crates at a time:

56. Multiple trips

95. Single trips

Once the roughly 2:1 ratio looked like it was a safe bet I stopped recording this.

To me everything broke down to crates carried per trip.

Because you need to make multiple trips every third buy or so the crates per trip ratio is 1.8

Blowing the other two crates up costs more ($7,714)/crate but allows a staggering 2.3 crates carried per trip

Hi there,

I would like to share a quick tip that I'm using myself while grinding CEO work. If you try and steal a few cars in a row and get a bounty (a nice one ofcourse) you can make an additional 6000-9000 every 48 minutes. Only recommended when you're in a lagged out session on your own. It might be not that useful, but I like it covering my pegasus and ammo expenses.

If I am on the ground, it is only because the crates are in a van and I am driving the van back to the warehouse. Otherwise there is literally no reason to get out of my buzzard, much less waste time stealing cars. You can do a headhunter in a buzzard in less than 3 minutes once you get it down. that's 20k, can be repeated every 5 minutes or so, basically after every 2nd pickup/purchase. Why bother fishing for a bounty?

I guess I'm not as skilled with my buzzard as you are. Because I exit mine a lot more often. If you're in the buzzard all the time my advice isn't helpful indeed.

Obviously sometimes a crate is too close to a tree or a building to pick it up with the buzzard, but apart from stepping out for 5 seconds to pick it up, you really should not need to get out of your buzzard unless you are forced to drive a crate vehicle. This update should boost your buzzard flying skills. I definitely noticed I run into more skilled buzzard pilots than ever before. I almost never ran into a buzzard pilot who knew how to dodge a missile, much less take down a poorly piloted jet, but I am seeing them now and again with greater frequency. Another good thing coming out of this update is it is causing players to actually step up neglected parts of their game in order to succeed. Which makes the game more fun for everyone when you actually have a worthy adversary now and again.

I've defended against two raids. Didn't affect the value at all.

I've been looking for more information on warehouse raids, and haven't been able to find much.

What exactly happens? How are you notified of a raid? What do you have to do? How hard is it to defend?

Can raids happen in empty sessions, where you're the only one in it? Because that's how I play as a CEO, and I've never been raided.

I've filled and sold off a large warehouse twice, and a small warehouse two or three times. And as I said, no raids. How often are they supposed to happen?

I've sold off full large warehouses several times now, and in all that buying and selling, I've never experienced a single raid.

I've experinced a raid. Once.

I was in a (public) lobby by my self. I had played a heist setup, and just spawned in as my assistent sent me a message saying "we" had been robbed, and a red crate appeared on the map. Indicating my stolen goods.

The robbers was 2 guys in a Mule, not hard to kill - and no additional enemies spawned.

I had both a special item and regular goods in that particular warehouse (a small one) so cannot say for sure what was stolen.

Mine was surrounded by around 6 npcs like vagos and luckily I was flying a buzzard when she called. It took around 1 minute between travel and killing all of them (they were hidden and covered all over the place). Until I clear them out there was a bar indicating that I was losing crates and so did, I lost 3 in this meantime, it just disappeared.

This happened right after a 3 crate purchase to fullfill the warehouse and didn't had time to sell it so I was heading to Blaine County to start a headhunter job.

Here's a tip to avoid being raided.

As soon as you plan on doing anything else (jobs, races, heists, or just roaming), retire as a CEO.

This should prevent you from being raided.

Or, I think that always being engaged in CEO/VIP missions or collecting crates can prevent it as well.

(disclaimer : I don't know this for fact, as in I don't know how it is programmed exactly)

Alright sorry if this has been answered before, but what exactly is a lag switch and where/how do i get one? Sick of just trying to jump sessions repeatedly hoping to get lucky and find a peaceful lobby, and really sick of random idiots attacking me even in nearly empty lobbies. Even if i can smear them, that's not why i am playing free mode looking for deserted lobbies in the first place, i play death matches when i wanna kill players. I find these losers in every damn lobby and i am sick of it, not above "cheating" anymore just to play ceo in peace.
