Favorite miniscule details from Red Dead Redemption

-At night in Armadillo, there will be an apparent significant increase in crime. Rebels will shoot up the town, drunk men will beat on women, more people will challenge you to duel, etc

-At the town where the allegedly haunted mansion is (forgot the name. Haven't played the game in ages), gangs will sometimes take over and if you clear them out, the town will become a ghost town again.

-If there's a large price on your head, gangs AND police officials will hunt you down

-You can rob people by aiming your gun at them and pressing triangle

-Sometimes, if you get called out for cheating in poker or liar's dice, you will be challenged to a duel.

What are some of your favorite details? The game's packed with them!

Theres this one part of the map where this bandit is guarding treasure with his dog. Once you kill the bandit, the dog starts attacking you in respect to his owner.

How in Dead Eye, your Dynamite Stick can be thrown as a Homing Weapon.

Didn't they patch that?

My PS3 was never connected to the Internet, so it's very much alive on my Copy.

I don't remember seeing this, but it could be me for not having the game for 5 years now. Is this a one-time occurrence? any video of it? article on Red Dead Wiki?

The Aggressive Camper is one of 4 World Events that I was never able to score as Unique. It seems to unlock later than most other events. I think it might be a variant of the Cannibal Camper UWE but I was never able to encounter it first. The Red Dead Wiki is terribly inaccurate when it comes to world events and duelists.

The most Unique World Events I've been able to score is 39. I've met 20 event duelist. This is probably my favorite detail as the Rustler level duelists scored my 39th UWE.

You can come across a place in the middle of wilderness where a woman sits next to a dead man. She cries for a while, then shoots herself.

Intense doesn't begin to describe it.

Was riding past two strangers on horseback. Suddenly, they stop.

'Oh no, here I go killing again' I think to myself.

But no guns were pulled. One man hops off his horse, heads on over to a rock and starts to pee. That's all. He just needed to pee. I love the detail in this game, really brings the world to life.

The effort that went into this game shadows GTAV by a mile.

And that suicide thing can go both ways, some times the man will shoot himself.

I liked how the game's world is filled with distinct communities within which you find each NPC has its own name, model and daily routine. From the piano player, bartender, salesman, butcher, doctor to rail workers and so on, they were actually made to live day by day in their communities in the scattered towns, from the far east in Blackwater to the far west in Mexico's Escalera. When the sun rises in the morning, you find workers doing their railroad-related jobs at Armadillo's station, blacksmith making horseshoes in his workshop, butcher cutting and preparing meat, and when the night comes, you see them going to their sleep on the outside.

Having a barely populated game map has allowed Rockstar to further expand their idea of 'living, breathing worlds' by focusing on such tiny details that most players won't even bother themselves about. I can only imagine how Rockstar is going to take these details to the next step and create an even more believable wild west population.

The classic western sound ricocheting bullets make. I love that so much.

Blood splatters are the best R* have ever done IMO.

One of the one's I noticed was a guy pulling to the side of the trail and getting off his horse to take a leak.

In the saloon in Armadillo there is a painting behind the bar of a woman, in the ps2/xbox game GUN the exact same painting is behind the bar in Dodge City.

If you skin a horse while your horse is present, it will be very disgruntled and sometimes even run away.

You can't cheat in liar dices.

I don't think it's really a minuscule detail, but the blood decals are incredibly detailed and amazing. I haven't played a game yet that has blood decals this awesome. That includes Max Payne 3.

I think Jack said something the first time i killed a bear.

"I did it pa"

He never said this again, i guess is on purpose and a reallly good detail. There's also news about the characters fate in the final newspaper you can buy as Jack:

-Leigh Johnson retired and moved out of Armadillo.

-Reyes turned into a dictator.

-Landon died in his sleep in Mexico.

-Irish died in Thieves Landing when his gun shot by mistake.

Boomer.

Also, Proffesor McDougal wrote a homage (forgot the right word, sorry) for Nastas in the newspaper, going so far as calling him his friend. Pretty cool of him considering how bigoted he acted towards him throughtout the story.

When John enters an abandoned homestead for the first time, Silent Stead for example, he will make a comment such as "I wonder what happened here" or "sure is spooky".

He also says the same when finding dead people or weird scenes like burnt wagons and sh*t.

This gif was posted on reddit. Like I said in an earlier post, the game's world harbors non-playable characters where each has his/her own daily and varying routine. That gif shows a lawman sleeping on a chair in front of Armadillo's sheriff office in the afternoon. He was unconscious until Marston put a bullet in his head and that beautiful Euphoria-driven death animations triggered.

Baked English Beans

The fact that US Law enforcement won't follow you across the Mexican border and vice versa. Something so satisfying about leaving a group of pissed Marshall's on that bridge. Theyll also often be waiting for you when you come back though...
