i dont pvp in this game lol i dont really have an oppinion, i race thats about as close as ill get to it.

Power Play is the most fun I've had in a GTA game mode since Slasher. It actually fixes the horrible PVP by adding the power-ups to compensate. Not to mention the music, style, and announcer really add to it.

 

I'm really happy, can't wait to see what new areas the other modes will be at. Having one be on the Aircraft Carrier was a pleasant surprise.

Had a lot of fun playing this earlier. The Aircraft map is very well structured. What really bugged me was the opposing team comitting suicide every time i picked up the beast powerup. They either jumped off the Aircraft or blew themselves up...

curious to see how fun this is. I've been waiting for some more Mario Kart esque modes like GTA races. But DM style... neat.

Made 94k in a playlist. It's pretty fun and the announcer just adds a lot of character to it, kinda reminds me of saints row actually lol this is the first time I'll say I fully enjoy an adversary mode.

Its a crappy time based payout. Finish it early and the payouts are sh*t.

I realized that the only Adversary Modes i liked so far are the "different" ones

 

-Slasher

-Beast vs slasher

-Inch by inch

-Power play

I will never understand why R* puts so much effort and resources into a game mode most people don't play and hate with a passion...

I will never understand why Line Cook puts up sh*tty statistics that have no basis. I hope you realize that the vocal minority on this forum that cry over adversary modes aren't the majority of players.

My friends and I played this for a few hours this morning. It's a lot of fun.

 

We had the upper hand on the other team because the switch or whatever power up, the one that inverts the controls is really easy to do once you get a hang of it.

 

Also, having two Beats at once is fun ha

i can say its my favorite adversary mode after dropzone...

 

while its fun and all i can see people abandoning the mode once the 2X payout is removed.

 

seriously R* should really adjust the payouts of this modes, 2X should be the standard payout for them.

Power play is so fun. It's funny when you become the beast and your enemy runs straight for the water on the aircraft carrier. I do the same thing when they become the beast lmao it's mad fun.

Trading Places was a good Adversary Mode. Now Power Play is continuing the trend. Good PvP mode and with the pickups, it allows balancing For lower levels against higher levels.

I generally loathe adversary modes but this one was reasonably good fun. I'd had enough by the end of the playlist, however.

Rockstar really outdid themselves on this. The announcer, music and pretty much everything about it is fun and really enjoyable. The only problem I have is people leaving when they are getting destroyed but I guess that happens in every PVP game. It seems like they are putting more effort into updates as of late and I really appreciate it.

BUT THE BENZ

power play seems to borrow heavily from Max Payne 3 and its gameplay mechanics for online. to increase damage while taking some, going off the grid, confusing the team with radar blips and such, and of course to slow down time. was all there in Max Payne 3 online (which was over the top awesome). sounds like really good, fitting additions to GTA:O

 

makes me want to play a gang war right now...*sad*

Yet another adversary mode that should have been a lobby option for an original game mode (deathmatch in this case). It doesn't matter whether the mode is fun or not. It will be dead in two weeks, just like all the other adversary modes before. What a waste of development resources.

 

It is really difficult to understand. Is the code for the original game modes so bad that they can't improve on them?

 

 

But they should have been available to order in other modes. I'm getting sick of content being locked away for specific modes (looking at you, Cuban 800 missile jammer and armour upgrades).

Adversary modes are a graveyard for gameplay mechanics. Looking at the adversary mode history, there are so many new mechanics that could have been used to improve races, deathmatches, LTS. All that effort, dead and buried with the adversary modes.

I only played it once and I got paired with a level 13. The other team were two level 300+ from the same crew.

 

Yeah f*ck that.

I was in a team by myself against 4 players. I managed to beat them multiple times.

 

And then the sore loser of a host kicked me.

 

This is pretty fun though.

Why is this game getting more and more childish and casualized ? Damn kids, shouldnt even be playing this game.

 

The new adversary mode is garbage in my opinion.

Um... You did play the original GTA's right? They are Arcade-ish and fun. Plus this mode takes place inside of a simulation. Edited by PvTails

Rockstar really outdid themselves on this. The announcer, music and pretty much everything about it is fun and really enjoyable. See, to me it seems they've given up. They're releasing easy to make content after openly admitting that the heists (GTAOs finest hour imo) were a huge effort to make.

 

As many have pointed out, this will be dead in a couple of weeks. A waste of resources indeed.

If Rockstar keep making adversary modes, it's because people enjoy and play them. Just because you and a hand full of people on this forum don't like them, that does not mean no-one likes them.

It's the first adversary mode I actually find fun, tho the fun decreases the fewer people are in a match.

I did the event thing where you have to do 3 maps and well it started out 6vs6 on the carrier, and that was loads of fun, no one team clearly had the upper hand, and after a good number of rounds my team won (I got no clue how many rounds you need to win to win a match, but it's a lot), 2nd map we were down 4vs4 on the beach, still great fun, tho one of the opposing team dropped half way trough the match, won again, final match was the prison, and the match was 3vs2, dropped to 2vs2, and 2vs1, and eventually 1vs1.

 

And ya that where it just gets boring, you need 35 kills or the most kills before the timer runs out to win, and once you got say a good sniping spot, especially on the prison map where the sniper rifles spawn high up and you have a near continuous feed of ammo, and you have decent sniper skills you can quickly dominate a single opponent, all the heavier weapon pickups are in the open, all the stairs are within line of sight of the sniper spawn, including the one leading to the other sniper rifle, so ya...it becomes really uneven then.

During the last set of rounds in the prison it was 2vs1 for a bit, with me being the one, and the opposing two being the two guys who were the top scorers during the other matches (I am not that great when it comes to shooters), so basically I got damn near spawn killed at that point, so I devised an alternate version to make it at least a bit fun, "kill me before I suicide", where I challenged them to kill before I could select a grenade an blow myself up, at least that brought back some fun and challenge in the match.

 

While this is a really fun mode, it's definitely one where "the more the merrier" applies, and thus one where R* abysmal matchmaking system fails horribly sometimes.
